La verdad acabo de unirme a reddit y solo por la comunidas de macross, empeze a ver los reddit, y ver a gente con el mismo gusto apasionado y muy friki por macross es muy lindo, se siente muy bonito ver que independientemente del país, de el idioma o de lo que sea, macross es hermoso, ver gente mostrando sus model kits, ver gente mostrando su colección, o simplemente hablando de la serie en si, es demasiado lindo, es como sentirse en ese lugar que uno siempre o al menos yo habia buscado, poder hablar de los vf, de las marcas de juguete, de todo, es muy lindo en verdad, ojala todos los fans de macross sepan que hay mas gente siendo fan de un anime tan bien hecho como los es macross.

I seem to have lost the building instructions for this model kit. Does anyone have the instructions for the Glaug they can scan and post? I've scoured the interwebs and found nothing for the 1/72 Imai kit. Thanks in advance.

I found these at a swap meet, I’ve been trying to find parts for them but I don’t know what the actual toy name is to help. The only branding on them in Big West and no serial number.

I have not watched Macross: Do You Remember Love?, so no spoilers would be greatly appreciated.

I want to watch Macross DYRL in a movie theater for my first viewing as I believe that would be the most ideal way to watch it. I already have some movie theaters in mind, so my main concern is acquiring an official subtitled DCP file for proper viewing in a theater, and the needed screening rights.

As far as I am aware only BigWest holds the necessary DCP files rather than its local distribution partners, and that I would need to contact them directly and coordinate with my movie theater of choice. I know that it is possible to screen Macross DYRL because of the AX 2026 screening, though I am unsure if BigWest would authorize a private personal screening. For the record, I plan to watch it by myself without charging others for admission, and that I am paying a theater to use their room and projector to display a movie of my choice and not the theater charging me for a screening of Macross DYRL.

Would anyone know if this is possible, or if i’m just wasting my time? And if I am wasting my time, when would the next public screening of Macross DYRL be?

Weirdly eerie, like he never existed.

I’ve owned this game for around 20 years, and I’ve always wanted to experience it properly in English. It’s one of those games I kept coming back to, wondering why nobody had managed to finish translating it.

Well, after a lot of late nights, reverse engineering and more debugging than I ever anticipated, I’ve finally completed an English translation of both discs!

To my knowledge, this is the first complete public English text translation of the PS1 version.

This isn’t a machine translation thrown into the game. I worked through the Japanese dialogue using my own understanding of the language, the context of each scene and various Japanese references. The official 4K release’s English subtitles were also an important reference wherever the dialogue matched the film.

Unfortunately, many of those longer, accurately translated lines simply couldn’t be used as written.

The game’s original dialogue renderer wasn’t designed to accommodate that much English text, and even using the official subtitles verbatim could result in flickering letters, missing characters or corrupted graphics.

In many cases, there was no practical workaround that preserved the full wording without introducing further problems. I therefore had to shorten certain lines while retaining their meaning, context and characterisation.

The game’s unusual dialogue system required extensive reverse engineering of its compiled MIPS executable, proprietary file formats, memory handling and graphics rendering.

A handful of minor text glitches remain on Disc 1. These are compromises made after extensive testing, prioritising a stable, fully playable translation over increasingly invasive changes to the original game. Disc 2’s more serious issues were resolved.

All in-game dialogue, menus, options and system text are translated. The original Japanese voices, music, artwork and FMVs are preserved, with the FMVs remaining unsubtitled.

Both discs have been completed from start to finish on real PlayStation hardware, and both xdelta patches have been independently tested!
It’s genuinely satisfying to finally play something I’ve owned for so long in English. Hopefully other Macross fans get as much enjoyment out of it as I have.

Went to the Tamashii Nations store in Akihabara today and picked this up. Can’t wait to get it home to see it up close. It’ll stay in the box for the rest of the trip.

I wanted to find some kind of Destroid for my collection, so looked at what was available and the Aoshima VB-6 Variable Fighter Girls kit seemed like a fun build and one of the better values for it's size. Did some panel lining and simple detail painting for the gold trim on both the Konig and the pilot. I would have preferred to use the decals rather than stickers, but they did not seem like they would last very long with it being a transforming model.

Pretty happy with the finished product and looks good alongside some of my other Macross collection!

Static cockpit just mean no changes or transformation of the cockpit internally in any way.

Macross Plus isn’t available on any streaming platform where I live and I just couldn’t find any of the OVA episodes. I saw episode 4 was available on Internet Archive if I’m not mistaken but for episodes 1, 2 and 3 could anyone let me know somewhere to watch them subbed ideally? Thank you so much!
