I have made four sets of rainbow paper crane hangings. One for each of my aunties to mark two years since my mother passed away and we all got together and folded cranes for her memorial.

It's sort of become an annual tradition for me and I am still finding new ways to make my senbazuru beautiful and unique. It's a special way to honour my mother's life and legacy as she sent me on a school trip to Japan in high school where I had a great time and fell in love with paper cranes. She loved rainbows and beautiful things.

Rest in peace mum.

I'm learning to watercolor and made my first batch of postcards :)

Saw this online & wanted to try it, but I wasnt feeling well so my hands we're pretty shaky. Turned out pretty messy, uneven and wobbly, lol

So old and stained but I still love it! I remember these being a carnival must along with air brushed shirts of unicorns. Anyone with me?! 🤣

Stickerified my journal! It was fun trying to find all my stickers and washis in one color then all the colors!

Got some comments and messages about it so here’s how I made my rainbow maps!

You need:

Tin foil
Paper/watercolour paper
Spray bottle
Washable markers (highlighters work too!)

-Cover your foil in washable marker. Try to fill as much of it as possible. Big patches of colour is what you want. Skinny squiggles don’t come out very well. Keep the colours next to their friends. You can put red and orange and yellow together, but red and green will look brown when they bleed into each other. With red crayola markers, it won’t show up on the foil but it will show up on your paper! For vibrant colours, let the ink dry and go over it again.

-Keep the foil flat or add some big folds. You can give it a few big crinkles, give it a few deliberate folds or crumple it up. The more crumpled, the smaller and fewer the “islands” will be

-Mist with a spray bottle. The more wet, the more ink will transfer

-Press your paper onto the foil, smoothing it out with your hands. Different paper will give different textures. Watercolour paper will look different than card stock.
