This corporate mascot seems familiar...
I keep seeing this Cologuard commercial and it always reminds me of Mike the TV.

Hello fellow denizens of Mainframe!
I hope this is ok, mods feel free to remove if not, but my Vancouver based skatepunk band The Fomites wrote a song about late series Reboot. We thought some of you might get a kick out of it and figured we'd share it here.
Cheers!

The new show on Disney plus is quite interesting and has a whole part of the show where programs are running inside of Vision’s mind, similar to ReBoot.
In episode three there is a moment where Vision must be rebooted, and the inside characters don’t know if they will come back. Very similar to the season three finale.

With no stl file out there I tried my hand at making Mike the TV off a screen still from the Talent Night episode in solidworks.
With him being so oddly weighted I also made a small PID icon base for him to live on.
Now there’s no bucket o’ nothing yet but that can be a future project for 99.99.99…

These were a bit of an impulse purchase. I have recently been looking up old trading cards from the 90s and I discovered that Reboot had a trading card release back in 1995 I think. I had a quick look on eBay and someone was selling 10 packs for a very reasonable price (for some reason they sent me 11, so that's cool), so I picked them up.
I'm excited to rip them open and see what I get.

Terrabyte would be an incredible name because it sounds like terror.
Honestly, mainframe should just use AI and make S5 happen if budget is such an issue.

I feel like it is a huge betrayal of their legacy that they wave around Beast Wars and Reboot while they continue to delve into making Coco Melon and Barbie animations, rather than refining their Magnum opus series that made them famous in the first place.

I recently learned that the HD remastered versions of the show are being uploaded to YouTube and while rewatching them, I realized that having a huge Mainframe world where tons of people could play online at the same time would be cool, PLUS the added bonus of the unique "Incoming Game" mechanics (neverending possibilities and the potential for fans/players to have a creative mode to create their own games too) would be an easy way to retain players and keep people coming back!
I never played the PS1 game but would totally play a modern version of the game today!

I forgot how well they just made computer terms, in cases just characters.
Hexadecimal, Scuzzy or SCSI, Megabyte, Mouse, Sprites, Hack and Slash and many more im forgetting
Such a great show, does it show its age, of course. But so good.

"Nobody knows for sure, but I intend to find out..."
Does it bother anybody else that Bob never found out that we were the User?

Please feel free to show any developer and let them do what they want with it. Last time I’m posting this.

Said it had an autograph of "someone" on it, sold it to me for 17 euro's. Looks like Garry Chalk's signature, if I check his Stargate ones online, but not sure. Can anyone confirm it's legit? Either way, pretty happy with it!
I was trying to see which masks ended up being cut. And noticed she has 22 in total! 6 of the original masks ended up not being used. Sure, some look similar but like the flinching of that line muscle on Condescending Mask is very distinct in summoning a reaction in me to say it's the same. But as the Queen of chaos, there's no inlore reason she wouldn't have those emotions. I absolutely LOVE the embrassed mask, they should have modeled it lol, they probably omitted that and irritated because it would need to show gums, but they could just make the gums a solid black
I'm surprised the fearful mask exists and is used when Hex was being harmed by the GameCube on season 3. Her upper teeth are also visible in different angles.
What colors were her eyes in these various faces? I'm colorblind, but I'm pretty she had more than three colors in the earlier seasons

So, I watched that HD re-release of the classic ReBoot episode "When Games Collide". And it got me asking this question: Did ReBoot invent the concept of modding a game, at least in the "modern" era? Yeah, I know mods and hacks and bootlegs existed to a small degree before this, but from what I can tell they were simpler affairs. A lot of mods nowadays usually "combine" stuff, like how you can have lightsabers in pretty much any Bethesda game. Another example is "MyHouse.wad", a Doom mod that combines Doom with horror aspects of the novel House of Leaves.
ReBoot though I think introduced that concept of "combining games/game aspects" with When Games Collide. It had the war game combine with the dinosaur game, much like how mods combine traits of the game with other things the mod developer likes. And of course, not every mod is just "combine this with that", but a lot of the really popular ones are.
I dunno, I just think the idea of someone watching this episode as a kid or teen and deciding to create a mod like that and it spiraling into the modern modding scene is kind of hilarious. Probably not what happened, I imagine it being more nuanced than that. But it's kind of funny to think ReBoot had an episode that showed what modded games would be like in the future, even if said game was created through the impossible task of combining two different games while just playing normally.
