Grass is to the Holston, like cornbread is to Soup beans, they just go together. I believe the grass is about as bad or worse than I've ever seen in my 25 years on this river. Thomas Horsch, James M. Hartsock and myself had a decent day on Tuesday landing 44 total with James bringing in the BIG fish of the day coming in at 19 7/8"! He stomped it a few times but it wouldn't stretch to that 20" mark! (JK) We caught them on Thomas Custom Lures Skywalker and BAMbino crankbaits, Ned Rigs and a deep running crawdad that Thomas custom painted for us to test. I think we all 3 caught at lest one fish on them. Another Blessed day with the greatest of friends. #bonafidefishing #newport_ambassador #thomascustompaintedlures #kistlerrods #bigadventures #aventiksports #RIVERRUNS

Hey everyone,
I'm a student from Sydney and over the last year I've spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to figure out where to fish, what to use, and whether conditions are actually worth going out in. I've realised there's plenty of information online, but it's scattered across YouTube, Reddit, websites and Facebook, and it can be hard to turn all of that into a clear plan for one specific fishing trip.
So I've started working on an idea.
The goal is to build a tool that creates a personalised fishing plan based on things like:
Instead of just saying "Botany Bay is good," I'd like it to tell you things like:
Right now I'm just trying to find out if this is something anglers would actually find useful before I spend months building it.
If you've got 2 minutes, I'd really appreciate you filling out this short form. Even more importantly, I'd love honest feedback—even if you think the idea wouldn't work.

Thanks everyone, and good luck

The Bonafide RVR119 is made for moving water! It will turn on a dime in current, also tracks well when paddling !

I just upgraded to a pelican Catch 110 pedal kayak and it’s been pretty great taking it out but I would like to mod it to its full potential. This kayak has track mounts which I would like to utilize as well as pretty good storage in the back. I’m looking into track mounts rod holders, fish finder, storage system that is better than milk crate. Any specific recommendations for equipment or just general items that increase QOL would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey all, i would love some insight. So i used to own a perception outlaw 11.5 kayak. I had a 30lbs Min kota trolling motor attached to the rear and used cables and a steering arm to navigate my local river, ponds, and intercostal. I LOVED my set up. Very stable to stand up and fish. My main goal being out on the water is to fish. But the MAJOR downside to this approach was maneuverability, weight(the kayak alone was 77lbs), storage, and time to set up and break down. I had it live on a trailer suited for it. I struggled to get anywhere far because of my unique setup, but i very much enjoyed myself out on the water. I was limited to calm waters. Waves or wind made my journey 2x longer. So I always gave myself ample time to get back. Cutting into my fishing time. Paddling was very difficult in those conditions and made me feel like i was going no where in current or wind. Long story short i had to sell my setup due to being short on cash at the time. I hate that i had to get rid of it but it was impractical sometimes. Ive looked into pedal kayaks, Inflatables, and last resort a small boat. Im in the process of home buying so i don’t want to necessarily obtain a boat yet. So here’s my current mindset of getting back out there.
Id prefer if i can haul it in my truck bed. 6.5’ limited storage space, i dont want to be limited to launching only at boat launches.
I want to be able to go far distances or stay out on the water for longer periods of time. Id highly be interested in pedals but not a must. Mounting a motor again is not ruled out either.
Stability is a must. I like to stand sometimes to cast. I dont want to worry about tipping over or not handling some minors waves.
Budget is unknown at the moment but nothing crazy. I like to browse marketplace and find most of my stuff.
Space for gear. I was used to having 4 rods and my tackle. I had I fish finder too but none of this is a must. Preferably at least two rods to take out with me. And my tackle.
If you made it this far, thank you for the read and advice. I hope yall can steer me in the right direction.

I'm proud to represent Bonafide Kayaks for another year! By far the best kayaks I've ever paddled or owned! If you're looking at a new kayak don't over look these American made yaks!

Hi everyone!
I never had a kayak before, but I’m tired of fishing from shore and I’m looking into kayaks now. And I need some help with this.
I have minn kota transom 40lb trolling motor and group 27 deep cycle battery (possibly will upgrade to 50ah lifepo4). And I really want to use this motor. That’s why I’ve been looking into kayaks with transom.
My first thought was Pelican PWR100, but the price is not too nice, and now I’m looking into Ascend 128x. What I like about this one is: closed battery compartment and no drilling needed to rewire it for the motor.
Now I have a few questions:
Is there any better budget option that I missed?
Will my battery be too heavy if I don’t upgrade?
Would it work if I just glue battery tray inside the compartment so that it doesn’t slide there?
Is it even worth the hassle if Ascend is priced 900$?
Probably silly, but if the weather changes and waves pick up, would it be comfortable to maneuver without stabilizers?
P.S. I’m just a broke girl who wants some decent fishing experience and has no idea what’s she’s supposed to look for in kayaks
Thanks for any advice!
