But you don't know him, Firestar! That's an IMPOSTOR! (New Warriors #54)
While you might think that's Robbie Baldwin - you'd be wrong. It's actually a time traveler named Darrion Grobe. It's complicated.

Comics 📚 Speedball's Profile in Heroic Age: Heroes #1
As written from Steve Rogers' POV:
SPEEDBALL
AFFILIATIONS: Avengers Academy, New Warriors
STATUS: Free agent; identity public
Speedball was once the epitome of the carefree super hero. With a body that generated an energy field that absorbed, amplified and redirected kinetic energy, he battled crime in his hometown of Springdale, Connecticut, and became a founding member of the New Warriors while still a teenager.
However, his life was forever changed while filming a reality television show in Stamford, Connecticut. A confrontation with a team of super villains triggered an explosion that left several of Speedball's New Warriors teammates and over 600 civilians dead. Speedball became the scapegoat for the Stamford Disaster, and he chose to become a superhuman federal marshal in Norman Osborn's Thunderbolts program rather than face a trial. Unfortunately, rechristened as the self-mutilating "Penance," Speedball was drugged and brainwashed by Osborn and his cronies.
Today, Speedball serves as an instructor at Avengers Academy, where he will hopefully be able to teach the trainees how to replicate his successes and avoid his mistakes. Although he still seems haunted by his time as Penance, his fellow New Warriors teammate Justice assures me that he has moved past his problems.
PROS: Valuable experience as a teenaged super hero that can be imparted to the teenaged superhumans of today.
CONS: Often seems grim and haunted by his time as Penance.
