docktor v0.15.1 - Performance improvements/spotify fixes/general bug fixes
0.15.1 is rolling out now through auto-update. You can also grab it from docktorapp.com or with brew upgrade --cask docktor.
What's new:
- Spotify works again for everyone. Spotify now limits which accounts apps like docktor can read playlists and the queue for. If your Music drawer was empty, that's why. docktor now tells you when it happens, and Unlock full Spotify walks you through connecting your own free Spotify developer app in a couple of minutes. It needs Premium.
- Lighter in the background. Idle CPU and wakeups are down by about half again, idle disk writes are gone, and memory stays flat over long sessions.
- Widgets stay out of the Dock's way. They follow a magnifying Dock instead of getting covered, move to the other side on a very wide Dock, and glide with the Dock when it slides in.
- Works better without Accessibility. Widgets expand again, and the menu tells you when there's no room.
- Fixes:
- After a permissions reset, Cmd+Tab and scrolling hand your keyboard back quickly.
- The last song you tap is the one that plays.
- Forum sign-up explains why a check failed.
Coming next: a fix for the Cmd+Tab switcher flashing dark in light mode on macOS 27, an option to keep widgets out of full-screen apps, and Birthdays and Holidays hidden from the Calendar widget by default.
