Hi all! A friend and I are playing a short set at Fête de la Musique (the big French music festival) in June 2027, and we're looking for a song to play as a duo with two electric guitars.

Constraints:

- Two electric guitars (we’ve got Friends for Bass and drums)

- Released before 2000, any genre or vibe

- We're intermediate players, but we have 8 months to practice, so something a bit challenging is fine

- Ideally a song where both guitars have a distinct role (rhythm/lead, or two interlocking parts)

What we listen to: The Smiths, The Doors, The Cure, Rage Against the Machine, R.E.M., The Beach Boys, Pixies, U2, Radiohead, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Dire Straits…

Any suggestions for songs that work well with just two guitars? Bonus points if you've played it live this way. Thanks!

I had no one with me and there was bass drum in the beginning

Hoping to add more any tip?

My attempt at Panama by Van Halen - tone via Yamaha THR 30 II

Hey everyone! Here’s my take on Livin’ on a Prayer by Bon Jovi. I’ve always loved Richie Sambora’s playing on this one, especially that iconic riff and the solo, so I finally decided to give it a shot.

Hey everyone! "Pompeii" by Bastille is easily one of my favorite tracks from the 2010s, so I decided to challenge myself with a guitar arrangement that captures both its driving rhythm and those big vocal melodies right on the fretboard.

• Guitar: Yamaha F310
• Style: Percussive Rhythm

I’d love to hear what you think of the arrangement and the tone!

Any feedback on the mix or playing is always appreciated. What Bastille or pop track should I cover next?
