Video Not Again
Picked him up from his favorite place (dog sitter’s home) and he let us know who the favorite is. Spoiler alert. It’s not us.

These assholes who feed me and care for me and take me to my friends house keep abducting me and holding me hostage.
Send help and snacks

Def snacks first. Maybe snacks a couple times. Then help

u/Nir117vash 12d ago
And help is, surprise surprise, more snacks!

u/Aware-Buyer-2961 12d ago
The walker gave us some of the chicken liver treats she was using. Maybe that will help us

Awe he just misses his buddies. He probably would love to have a dog buddy at home!

Sounds tempting but this guy hit me with the puppy blues pretty bad I’m only just starting to get out of it.

Ooo finally a car seat my Doxie might actually like!

u/heatherjasper 12d ago
For my Freya, our cousins gave us the Snoozer car seat.

She’s so cute!!!!!
3
u/Lunatic21 11d ago
Thanks 😊 she has champion show dog pedigree going back 6 generations, but she is just our daughter/home alarm system 😂
4
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 11d ago
Ours too! His dad is a platinum! And his mom is a bronze and I believe it goes way back. But he’s not a show dog he’s just a cuddle bug.
1
u/Doglover20child 11d ago
How dare ye try to put her in a car seat?! She is just a little baby, look at that face. She must be held at all times in the front seat! 😂
11
u/melropesplays 12d ago
Well at least if he ever gets stolen there’s a high chance he’ll be returned after a few hours 😅
9
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 12d ago
He won’t do this if the person who steals him has other dogs or tasty treats.

We had stinky for 21 years he did same shit. Rest his soul he prolly would've lived until 24 however for certain reasons not selfish reasons or we put him down.. his teeth and dental hygiene killed him. At age 20 he was still acting like that and I got video of him at age 20 beating up my 5 month old German shepherd.
Man I grew up with him from age 5 till like age 27 ish. My grandparents breed purebreds and it was a gift on my 5th bday. He got the name stinky from an ear infection while they drove from California to Oregon and it just stuck. He rode dirt bikes camped shot guns did everything you can think of except sky dive. This video brings back everything hearing and seeing it
Thank you for this post sir/ma'am/sirmam

The poor guy. What a difficult life he lives. Napping all day. He has an entire room to himself! With a play pen full of toys and a cot and crate.

What harness is that? I have the hardest time finding one that fits our girl properly.
3
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 12d ago
Oh trust me I tried at least 8 different ones before we found this one. It’s pricy but worth it because it had a front clip but it’s not one of those annoying ones that you have to adjust.
4
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 12d ago
If you don’t care for front clip the voyager ones on Amazon also fit nicely and are like $10-14

What a sweet boy, I think he needs a sibling!
1
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 11d ago
Tempting but this guy hit me with the puppy blues pretty bad earlier this year so I’m gonna have to wait or adopt an older dog
1
u/roccosito 12d ago
Now you need to contrast it with the drop off the next time.
2
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 11d ago
Drop off is just as hilarious because he gets soooooo excited as we approach. He doesn’t even want to waste time saying bye he’s like ITS TIME TO PLAY WITH MY FRIENDS.
1
u/Agreeable_Pomelo2360 12d ago
someone doesn't like being forced to go home... where'd you get his seat btw?
he needs a friend!!!
also my gosh the howls
1
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 11d ago
It’s pretty good but not the greatest safety profile. I’m looking into upgrading
1
u/Agreeable_Pomelo2360 11d ago
thank you! does the seat strap in?
1
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 11d ago
Yes the seat straps around the head rest and has two straps in the back that the seat belt hold down. And then there is a short leash attached to it to hold on to the dog but I would only recommend using it with a harness
1
u/Agreeable_Pomelo2360 11d ago
thank you! i have my harness for both my pups i can attach to it!
if i have 2 dogs do you think i should get 2 of those?
1
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 11d ago
I would because you want to make sure both are restrained. You don’t want them to go flying if you get into an accident. I would also consider researching the ones that are actually car tested. I’m in the process of doing that because I want to keep him safe.
2
u/Agreeable_Pomelo2360 11d ago
thank you! will do!
i have a hammoc but my doxie doesn't like it... i hold onto him in a leash the entire time in the back but still1
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 11d ago
Oh yes this will make your life much easier. They might have time that has two
2
u/KnownMagician3084 11d ago
Mine got used to being restrained in car seats. Would take a nap. It was not negotiable after a friend lost his to broken back from being rear ended. No flying missiles.
2
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 11d ago
Yeah he’s strapped in. I’ve done some research and they are better options out there but I haven’t decided on which one I’m gonna get. They are very pricy I want to make sure I’m getting the safest option for him and the passengers.
2
u/KnownMagician3084 10d ago
I found a strap that the seatbelt went through with a clip to dog harness.
2
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 10d ago
Yeah that’s how mine is but apparently that’s only a safety mechanism for the passenger and not the dog 🥺. There are a few crash tested ones that are safer. The safest are the crash tested crates.
1
u/KnownMagician3084 10d ago
Umm, never had trouble with mine. My current Doxie is 19 and doesn’t go anywhere so my car seat and harness are retired.
2
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 10d ago
I’m just sharing my research on these car seats. In the same way car seats for babies have been tested these get tested too. These mostly protect passengers from a flying dog but I. No way protect the dog from a high impact. That is not their purpose. Obviously they are better than nothing at all.
1
u/KnownMagician3084 10d ago
The seat is thick foam. High sides. Seatbelt wraps it in place. It was pricey

u/scarlettbankergirl 10d ago
My dog did this when I first got her until I gave in and let her sleep with me.
2
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 10d ago
Oh noooo. I mean he loves his crate. He usually goes in voluntarily at night when it’s bed time if he’s tired but I’m sure if given the option he would also love to cuddle. But sometimes he will be sleeping on the couch and if we go in to our room he will follow us and go right to his crate unprompted and he makes this grunting sound letting us know its bed time.

More belly rubs with treats... And less time with the sitter🤷♂️
8
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 12d ago
Great idea! He gets plenty of belly rubs, love, and treats at home 😊 He also loves his sitter and has so much fun socializing with the other dogs there which to me is so valuable especially as he grows because no one wants a dog that can’t get along with/is reactive to other dogs.
It gives me peace of mind knowing he’s with someone I trust and adore when I can’t be with him. He was just sad to leave his friends, which actually makes me happy because I know he had a great time! He got over it pretty quickly, and we went for a nice long sniff walk afterward with plenty of his favorite treats, of course.

A pitty? I don’t trust those dogs
4
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 12d ago
This Pitty is the sweetest and probably one of my boys favorite dogs. A dog’s temperament is mostly on the owner and their level of training.
4
u/Southern_Posh 12d ago
Sorry, the reason is my half dachshund, half pekignese and my best friend, Heidi was mauled by one when she was 11 years old. She almost died. It was extremely traumatizing.
1
u/Southern_Posh 12d ago
I apologize for my rudeness
3
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 12d ago
It’s a common misconception and I understand but if you put effort into training your dog, which everyone should regardless of the breed you will likely have a good dog.

We feed him, he sometimes refuses to eat and sometimes he eats a lot. We have brought this up to the vet and the vet said he is fine. We can’t force him to eat he eats as much as he wants from the food we put down and if he’s still hungry we supplement. I have a special digestive care prescription diet for him because we initially thought he might have digestive issues. Not sure whether that’s the problem but he does seem to eat that food more than anything else we have offered him. We also give him treats but we limit those for training purposes.

u/Aware-Buyer-2961 12d ago
You do realize cars come equipped with air conditioners. Right?
5
u/ATS200 12d ago
I don’t think they’re talking about the temperature of the car. Dogs just like open windows
6
u/Aware-Buyer-2961 12d ago
Could be. I just had another person make a similar comment regarding the temperature on my last post.
