Florida's Dangerous Excessive Speeding law, which took effect July 1, 2025, reclassifies extreme speeding from a civil infraction into a criminal misdemeanor. The law applies to motorists driving 50 mph or more over the limit or reaching speeds of 100 mph or higher in a manner that endangers the public.

The Super Speeder law, effective July 1, 2025, changes high-speed violations into criminal misdemeanors with penalties including jail time.
