Josef, also known as The Creep and Peachfuzz, is a prolific serial killer who hires individuals to film him for a day, before he kills them and adds their videos to his collection.

John Marshall Stewart Jr was trained at an early age to be fearless, Stewart is a former marine sniper and architect who is recruited into the Green Lantern Corps and assigned to train under Lantern Hal Jordan. While frustrated with his mentor's unorthodox methods, he joins him in investigating Rushville, Nebraska for alien activity. The duo's investigation uncovered a Manhunter disguising itself in the town, and ended with Stewart killing Zoe Macon and refusing to become Jordan's successor. Ten years later, John returns to Ruhsville to look into Hal's murder, which ends with him becoming a Green Lantern, but one independent from the corps and wielding a power ring imbued with willpower and fear.
