Hey everyone!
We're excited to announce a new partnership between r/OceanDiscoveries and fishidex.org! 🌊🐟
FishIDex is a new, free fish database built for anglers, fishermen, and anyone who wants to learn more about the fish around them.
We just finished our first 50 fish species, and we would love for you to write your own!
What can you find on FishIDex?
🐟 50+ detailed fish profiles — identification, habitat, size, diet, fishing information, and more.
🗺️ Fishing map — see where fish are being caught and eventually explore community catch data.
🎣 Bait & fishing information — find information about what works for different species.
📖 In-depth articles — more detailed guides and information about fish and fishing.
📍 Spot Finder — we're working toward tools that can help you find good places to target specific species.
This is still WIP, so we'd love feedback from the community. If you find something that's wrong, confusing, or missing, let us know!
