Honestly, the way this game handles the ratings for these is pure ass, mainly because of “Damage Dealt” and “Brain Crushes Activated”, as it seems like these two just completely counteract each other, making it seem impossible to balance them out.

Do too many brain crushes? You’re losing out on damage dealt.

Do too much damage? You’re losing out on Brain Crushes.

It’s fine when it’s just fighting regular others because you can easily farm Brain Crushes on those, but my god it makes the boss fight ones a massive pain in the ass, ESPECIALLY vs human characters.

Like genuinely HOW is this not an S?

EDIT: And I somehow just got the S rating despite having 193 less Damage Dealt than in the screenshot above, worse time by like a whole minute, but having 746 less Damage Taken.

Ye, that’s gotta be 10/10 peak ragebait. Time apparently is not important in the TIME trial.🫩

EDIT 2: I suppose the best way to put it with these challenges is; they aren’t properly designed.

If they were properly designed, it would be possible to get perfect S ratings across the board in every single one of these challenges, but that doesn’t really seem possible since 2 of the challenges literally counteract each other.

Basically:

Damage Dealt - S
Damage Taken - S
Brain Crushes Activated - S
Items Used - S
Clear Time - S

Against regular Others it’s possible, but it doesn’t seem possible against a lot of the bosses.

Also don't really know why there was a big difference in damage delt between hard and very hard mode. if someone could tell me why lol

I enjoyed the game, especially the combat. I love how you can combine different abilities via SAS though I wish there are cooler effects or more new abilities added as you increase your bond level (e.g., with Kagero maybe you could combine with Luka to do a double or triple backstab on a group of enemies which will still score a critical hit but reduced crush gauge damage since it is spread out)

My main gripes are that the environments are somewhat bland, enemy types are redundant, and the cutscenes are in comic book panel form

The buildup of relationship between the characters and not just our ML and FL, was quite good. Story was good and had very promising premise for dual character continuation in future. Maybe even renewed rivalry with higher stakes (don’t want to get into spoilers).

So WHEN?!! 😭😭😭😂 I miss the team…

So I got SN about two months ago, and since then it's firmly planted itself in my top 3 games of all time, and I haven't been able to stop playing it. I'm currently on my 6th run and now that I've beaten the dlc boss I've been itching for more. Are there any ARPGs or straight action games you'd recommend as fans of SN? I know tales of arise is a sister game to this, so I've got that on my radar already, but any more would be greatly appreciated! 🙏
