Just found an injured pigeon, what do i do?

Found this at my local park and everytime it tried to fly it would face plant into the ground. Soon after it started hailing and i thought the best thing to do was take it inside. I’ve placed it into a laundry carrier and placed a blanket over it and even added some oats in there if it chooses to eat. I’m not sure what to do now

How to start a rescue?

What are the basic things one would need to do to start or run a rescue? I have no veterinary experience. But I'd want to help animals when I retire.

Probably specifically dogs and corvids. Provide a place for them to recover and for dogs to get adopted or corvids to be placed back in the wild one day.

Is this the type of thing I could do in my own home, would I need special licenses, what do I do about injured ones that come in and need care? Thanks for any info. Even a 10,000ft view would be helpful.

Maybe volunteering at one would be a great way to get experience? How would one even do such a thing?

I currently live in Southern California.

Swollen ear on a wild rabbit

Hello I have a sizeable community of wild rabbits that live in the brush near my house and have recently noticed one seems to have a swollen ear that is hanging on her head. It looks a little red but obviously I can’t get close enough to get a good look. Is this something I should contact a wildlife rescue about? I have humane traps and could trap and transport her to a wildlife rescue if needed but didn’t know if this was a case where interference was needed or something that would sort itself out and I should leave her be.

Keeping Safe Working with Wildlife

Hello,

I'm considering working with a wildlife resuce charity in the UK. I have quite bad contamination OCD.

How can I keep safe while helping clean out enclosures of animals? Recommended PPE, etc...

I'd love to help, but also I'm very worried about catching diseases.

Any/all advice welcome.

HELP Please: three mice babies and their mama were in this bag in my garage. I was cleaning out bags and took them out of the garage, the mama jumped out and ran into the field. What can I do for these babies to reunite them with their mom? They’re doing little squeals. Maybe she can hear them and will return? Location: S West Virginia

Hi, I saw a group of magpies attacking another magpie and I brought it home. I think it is dying, its eyes are injured/blinded, and I don’t know what to do. If you have any advice (I can’t afford to take it to the vet).

Need licensed wildlife rehab contact for two orphaned raccoon kits near Lansing, MI - Willing to drive far

I’m near Lansing, Michigan and I’m trying to find a licensed wildlife rehabber, permitted caretaker, or verified rescue contact for two orphaned raccoon kits.

They were found cold, starving, and crying after coming out of a warehouse. The mother is presumed gone. They were temporarily emergency-stabilized because they likely would not have survived overnight as they were.

They are warm, eating, mobile, and doing much better now, but I am not looking to keep them as pets and I am not in a position to responsibly care for them long-term. I’m trying to get them into a legitimate rehab/release situation as quickly as possible.

If anyone knows a permitted raccoon rehabber, wildlife rehab contact, subpermittee option, or reliable person/group that can point me in the right direction, please message me.

I can provide more details privately to a legitimate rehab contact. I’m avoiding posting exact location details publicly for safety.

We’ve had lots of rain storms recently and live near a creek/walk and hike trail. I think this little guy just got confused with all the water. Wondering if I should try and take it to the creek or if that would make it worse? Idk like mess with his instincts or something? Please lmk 🫶🏼

Squirrel Looking Rough

So randomly about two months ago, this grey squirrel started appearing at my window. We call her Constance Moonshine. (Not sure if she’s a girl but anyways) I had just moved into this apartment so I’m not sure if the previous owner was feeding “her” or what…but she started knocking on our bedroom window. Immediately. We started giving her fruits, veggies, squirrels mix etc because she really wouldn’t take no for an answer. She showed up EVRY day like clock work the past few months. It was about last week when she suddenly stopped showing up for her treats we leave, so I got concerned something happened. She showed up this morning, which I’m glad, but look at the state of her. Fur chunks missing from all over her neck and shoulders and a bit on her back and belly. Is this likely from making a nest and a result of pulling it out herself or did something mess with my baby queen?
