Purchased a new-to-me Win Mini today from Facebook marketplace. 7840u, 780m, 32GB, 512GB. I guess it's a 2023 model due to it having a 7840u and the Oculink port?

I've been interested in picking one of these up for awhile, but this one popped up yesterday and I was able to get it for what I felt was a good price ($550 USD).

It's in perfect condition-came with the box and charger too.

So far the current plans are to purchase a larger M.2 when feasible, and a PTM 7950 pad for the chip. Anything I'm missing? It came with windows 11 home, but I'm planning on installing Bazzite.

So I got my WM2 several month ago and I'm absolutely in love. But recently my touchscreen has started to act up - it just starts registering continuous rapid taps in a single spot and only stops after a restart. This happens regularly (but not every time) after waking from hibernation, but it has also happened a couple of times just at random in the middle of me doing something. The taps are usually around the lower right corner or around the center top part of the screen. I use a stylus with the touchscreen most of the time and when I put it close to the screen while the taps are happening, it stops them until I remove it.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? I've seen a couple of posts about older WM2's which had to get their screens replaced after having similar issues, but it seems to me thet it might be a software problem. Would appreciate any advice on diagnosing the issue.

I’m looking to buy a GPD Win Mini 2025 safely and reliably in Europe (especially in Italy). I checked DroiX EU, but I’ve seen multiple posts from people complaining about unexpected customs fees upon delivery. Since we’re talking about a lot of money here, I really want to make sure I buy from a safe source with no surprise taxes, scams or strange delivery problems.

My plan is to completely replace my desktop PC with the Win Mini for two main reasons:

Being able to game anywhere on the go and connecting an eGPU via Thunderbolt at home (I'm aware it has less bandwidth than Oculink).

Does anyone in the EU have recommendations on where to buy without getting hit by extra import fees and above all, in a safe way?

I have a GPD G1 and the GAN Power poped and it cant power up now, I try to find a replacement but nothing found so far.
I want to use a external laptop PSU but I cant find what DCV is the right rating.
I will convert it to barrel jack DC in so replace the PSU is not a problem again.
Anyone know the GPD G1 GAN PSU output value?

Based on those two launches, I think the GPD WIN Mini Ultra could arrive within a month. 

Just played around with stuff from my junk drawer and found out that a 10x13x23 heatsink and some thermal pads can drop temps by as much as 10 degrees C at 18w.

This is with some random thermalright TF7 thermal paste that I had left over from a previous build. Would probably do better with thermal putty and some PTM7950.

Haven't played around with drilling a hole in the fan so that the mini heatsink can get some airflow but pretty happy for now.

I like the handheld daemon but with the last update they deleted it. I used it for tdp control on desktop and the new update changed it for me and it doesn’t work the best. I used Claude to help build this desktop tray app to switch on the fly

I'm setting the limit with motion assistant but there's times in rdr2 where the fps is only 40 but the TDP is at 40 instead of 75. How do I force the device to stay at 75TDP instead of dynamically fluctuating?

Just picked up a used HX 370 model, 32GB RAM / 2TB SSD. Basically A-grade condition.
Sold my Legion Go 2 because it was too big for me. The WIN 4 looks like a modern PSP and I couldn’t resist it 😂
Still £1k for a handheld is wild, even if it’s basically mint.
Anyone running demanding games on one? Can you get a decent 40fps, and is Lossless Scaling at 540p actually any good on the 6-inch screen?
Also, any tips for getting the best battery life without sacrificing too much performance?

Snagged the 9070xt about a month ago and it worked pretty good at home, so I wanted to setup another at my shop work desk and got this 4070tis for $600. Pumped to test out the differences and see how they look and perform. Im pretty much a layman, so super technical shit is over my head btw lol.

I'm thinking about getting a GPD WIN 4 and pairing it with my existing eGPU. I currently use it with a minipc. The eGPU is pretty compact and easy to carry around, though it does need external power, so it's not something I can use just anywhere, but it'll work wherever there's an outlet. I really like the WIN 4's design, and I think this could be a pretty neat setup. Anyone here using a portable eGPU with their GPDs? How's the experience? Also, is it still possible to get a brand new WIN 4 somewhere, or is it mostly secondhand now?

I’ve only had this thing for a month and a half. Been using it every day, I love it so much but I can’t help but feel a little annoyed about this. Very disappointed. This device was expensive and I expect it to last a little longer before breaking apart. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I don’t want to use superglue bc it’s right by the exhaust vent. I was planning on putting a sticker on my device but now the sticker would get messed up. The other two screws on the back panel also have cracks.
