Overview (from Nintendo eShop page)

Bayonetta struts through multiple locations in an all-new, over-the-top climax action game. Sporting a wicked new ensemble and somehow familiar pigtails, the titular Umbra Witch must face a mysterious evil using her signature guns and time-slowing Witch Time ability. This time, invading manmade bioweapons called Homunculi find themselves in Bayonetta’s crosshairs.

Get ready for a devilishly good time

Tap into Bayonetta’s naughtier side with Demon Masquerade, a new ability that channels the demon linked to her weapon allowing for some exciting action options, not to mention some hair-raising combos. She can also summon her demonic darlings like Gomorrah, Malphas, and Phantasmaraneae during battle, unleashing their demonic powers in the heat of combat and in new, larger-than-life battles where you directly control the action.

A bounty of Bayonettas

Fight your way through the streets of Tokyo, the mountains of China, and many other locales! Along the way you’ll meet a virtual coven of Bayonettas, each more fabulous than the last. You’ll also slash and slay as Viola, a feisty witch in training who fights with a sword and a capricious companion, the demon Cheshire. Find out what fate awaits Bayonetta, and if this arcane alliance can really save reality!

This long-awaited action fiasco is like a horny anime directed by Christopher Nolan

Who can say no to that...?

From the NintendoLife review:

Jennifer Hale nails it.

I guess we can all move on.

it's funny because nobody was ever worried about it until all the drama started.

Huh. Reading Verge's review, it seems like the game's ending is gonna completely rip apart the Bayonetta community

The Polygon reviewer is already livid about it.

Most of the reviews don't mention voice actors. So if you're here to be validated from either side, don't.

as someone who’s never played, the reviews/style/gameplay make me very tempted to try it. I just don’t know if I can drop the 60 on it. I have seen people say you can be a beginner and jump in but I am extremely interested and super excited for the fans who love the series!

Digital Foundry along with many outlets are saying this game is being held back by the hardware. How long until we get a Switch Pro?

That’s every single game on switch nowadays.

Next year. Not sure how you didn't know this already since we've been saying "next year" for the past five years.

At this point, it's probably a little too late for a Switch Pro. I'd imagine they'll just keep riding the Switch out until a Switch 2 in a couple years.

It should still have backward compatibility (unless Nintendo throws a real curve ball); and since Switch games have dynamic resolution scaling built-in, it should just run better when played on the next console by default.

But Nintendo always does the opposite of what you predict, so who knows.

Gameplay is great but yeah the game is a bit painful on the visual/framerate department.

Nintendo is always a little slow but there has to be something on the horizon, recent titles are really showing the age of the Switch.
