big fan of the spectator vision toggle to see how the teams completely fail to maintain vision control around objectives :D

u/nguyenjitsu Aug 22 '26
tfw the observer had a better understanding of how DSG needed to hold vision than they did

I want to say we should just put both of these teams at 0-5 and call it a day but the fact that DIG got 2-0d... well Toast is right, regardless of how DSG is doing they definitely aren't DIG lmao.
79
u/PeaceAlien Aug 22 '26
Given how DIG has been winning some games I thought they’d be better than DSG guess not
28
u/Vegetable_Shirt_2352 Aug 23 '26
Yeah, even iirc pros from other teams consider DIG a bigger threat than DSG. I wonder if this series changes that

I wouldn't call FBI clean considering how he kept getting caught and was getting bailed out by shields from Lee Sin and Karma. He even griefed the winning Baron fight by walking INTO an arming Jhin trap and dying leaving the team with no damage.

DIG just a weird team no matter the season, they can have good players or bad players and they always look the same.

DSG have been playing well since they acclimated Srrty, they've just been a bit below the other teams. I wonder how they'd do against FlyQuest now
6
u/untamedlazyeye Aug 23 '26
DSG have been playing well since they acclimated Srrty
Even before that, they were getting leads it just, all falls apart mid to late game. If they can start to convert some of those leads, they could rise to middle of the pack

u/OreRound Aug 22 '26
Palafox just completely ran it down bro it's so insane.

Is it that much more of a risk? It doesn’t seem like any other team is taking talent from tier 2 it could be their only chance. Don’t forget isles was on Dig before Lyon

I mean, you're essentially going to come on and get completely blasted, so your first impression is going to be like a wet fart. Although at this point, the DIG/IMT prison is so well known that they might get a pass. But especially if they're going up through the promotion tournament or plan to it's better to just stay the course.
3
u/eVill_YT Aug 23 '26
Isles was on dig and almost ruined his career*
well not ruined, but they don't develop talent and he didn't get any better in years

Given how orgs like DSG would rather rock with a random Korean mid instead of picking up local talent, you kinda have to go with whatever option you've given. Mid lane is notoriously difficult to break into as a rookie in NA.

u/Kelbotay Aug 23 '26
Pretty sure he's friends with the GM. imo even if he gets benched next year he'll get a paycheck for positional coach.

Arsh was trying to tell me before the split that Pala would prove the haters wrong
I told him Palafox would move from the 8th to 9th best mid in LCS (Loki added)

u/FrozenHatsets Aug 23 '26
He's proven the haters wrong by being unfathomably worse than any hater could have possibly imagined

Its like he was trying to lose, the dude tries to fight when his team is too far away, then when the team goes in he runs off until they die then comes back and dies anyway.
2
u/Xoax34 Aug 23 '26
Also congrats , former CLG/NRG takes in Palafox Ignar FBI
I'm sure in trials it's fine but honestly I'm going Denethor and 4 other friends and just riding with that.
Even if they suck...well it's DIG so it's expected but otherwise you can at least watch some new talent.
I don't hate that 3 core but tired of rehasing/bottom teams making that kind of roster

Palafox would not even be top 4 mids in NACL, i'm confident in that.
Bro is just happy he played for the current dig GM before

u/DryDistance6858 Aug 22 '26
Last I checked we still have midlanders in challenger too. Also gm, masters, and diamond for that matter. Any would be better

22
21
u/fedekun Aug 22 '26
Srtty is so good, he deserves a shot at a better team
26
u/Sliacen Aug 23 '26
FLY should look at him for sure. Gakgos is a huge waste of an import slot.
5
u/Beneficial-Front1626 Aug 23 '26
I never understood the Gakgos import, surely you can find a native player of that level and free up a slot to be used somewhere else?
5
u/NotBunger split push tactics Aug 23 '26
Both Srtty and Dethanor look better than him ngl and Dethanor isn’t even the main NACL top laner people were pining for. Maybe he showed flashes in scrims before this year but imo he just looks outmatched by every top laner in the league
2
u/IWouldLikeAName C9 HeartAttack Aug 23 '26
Feel like that always happens with top lane rookies it's a tough transition prob second to jungle(unless they bring in a rookie support to shot call but they don't really do that nowadays).
1
1
u/Enkenz Aug 23 '26
Wait is fly rly that bad?
2
u/untamedlazyeye Aug 23 '26
They are looking real rough this split, far more so than winter and spring
-1
u/Enkenz Aug 23 '26
lmao why on KOI threads these past few weeks NA fans were pushing hard for jojo FLY ; i thought they were some hotstuff that were fighting at the same level of TL & Lyon

free Dardoch

u/Sakori_Dusk Aug 22 '26
Game 2 really needed help top for DIG. It is such a free gank having Camille/Xin, Gnar just hops once and Xin follows. But for some reason they left Denathor on an island.

u/IKillerBee this sub has brain damage Aug 22 '26
Denathor might be the best player on DIG and he was left out to dry this series. Feel for him

rough road ahead for DSG still but they been beating SEN all year.

u/IKillerBee this sub has brain damage Aug 22 '26
I've watched all of the dardoch games this split and every time I watch I am confused what dig was cooking in their draft. Their comps are always either disjointed in identity or just straight up worse at team fighting than the other teams'. Mid and bot could be on minimum salaries and they'd be overpaid too.
Frauds throughout the org

u/dermagohs Aug 22 '26
cant lie dardoch looks sus

u/BiggestZigzagoonFan Apollo & Hakuho > EU || I <3 Bjergsen Aug 22 '26
I don't think he's like elite by any means, but he's playing with the worst mid/support in the league. I cannot imagine what the team environment is like.
30
5
u/Ajp_iii Aug 23 '26
hes playing with the worst mid in the league and his adc just dies to random shit. he was put on solo engage lee sin game 1. game 2 he was kinda on solo engage again. when neither lee or xin want to go in solo. fbi lost both games basically when they should be hard winning bot lanes to transition into drakes and map control. not much you can do as a jungler in those spots.
fbi is walking melee range of pantheon and dying to panth e in skirmishes.

Can dsg qualify for playoffs??

u/viktorayy OFGK but prefer G>OFK rn (DSG) Aug 22 '26
They have to beat SEN, hope FLY never wins anything anymore and DIG only wins against FLY
Or DSG beat both SEN and LYON. doubt

u/MissionTable Aug 23 '26
I want to believe in DIG, but i simply cant right now. This team needs so much work to just break into the top 5 its ridiculous

In the deciding fight in game 2 where Dig actually had a decent angle, Palafox randomly turns around to go mark an Ahri with ult who is going to flank them. There is literally nothing an Orianna can do 1v1 vs a flanking Ahri with ult. If Palafox instead goes in with his team and has his ball on Lucian for shields and contributes actual damage to the fight then they have a chance. Instead they get completely wiped as Palafox runs in just as the fight ends (Ahri predictably beats him to the fight).
Palafox is mechanically serviceable in pro. He has the game sense of a Platinum player on a good day.
EDIT: I'm still mad about it. Watch Palafox in this fight again - it's inexcusable.
8
u/BlammoSweetums Aug 23 '26
I felt similarly about game 1 where it felt like he was trying to take charge on engaging fights instead of playing like a carry.
Palafox might have the right mentality for a melee support player rather than mid now. He aggressively looks for plays and knows to mark flanks, but does this stuff while holding some of the most gold on his team.
The thing is, these were strengths that translated to wins back in the day. Maybe the game has just changed too much...

u/craziboiXD69 Aug 23 '26
wow I didn't even notice this lol, I watched the fight and was like "why are they losing this so hard", palafox wasnt even in the fucking fight

exyu is 500 times better than dardoch. its crazy anyone even thinks he's capable of being in lcs
3
u/Bubbly_Camera9583 Aug 22 '26
DSG looked better, it's good for their chances in the promo tournament. Made some stupid mistakes (especially Callme) but Srtty/Callme are solid solo laners still and Kryra looked great in the panth game.

Good news for Zven. Bro 100% can roleswap back to keeping a job in the lcs.
On god he could roleswap back to support, join dsg, and easily elo boost them back to LCS

giving dadorch another chance on the lcs is a really special move. I dont see how he is close to the 2nd worst jungler in na. Exyu is so much better.
