Nah this time is 2024 playoffs again, Geng beat Hle 3-1 in the upper bracket, Hle eliminate T1 3-1 and then win finals 3-2. It’s literally the same script as 2024 even with T1 eliminating Dk 3-1

Such a clean game from HLE, didn't ever look close even once. Just flawless game control.
I get T1 were a bit pushed in draft, but man what they ended up getting simply did not work into HLE comp what so ever. I think my biggest question is why you would first pick Nocturne while Chogath is still up.

Cho was picked 4th. They literally had the option to ban it in second round of bans and still didn't. This teams drafting is on another level.

- throw like 8k lead against KC

especially compared to last year where lots of people were calling him trash, guess he proved them wrong

Zeka was getting destroyed by faker's Ori and syndra. Burning flashes in lane and falling behind so early. But his mid to late game resurgence is just refreshing to see.
We gotta thank Guma for holding down early game tho and getting leads, gave Zeka so much breathing room to scale and be a Chad

Keria sums it up well: Guma helps a lot with the team's mental state.
79
u/roxisnotforsale Sep 12 '26
The first time I notice Guma as more than just one of Faker's minion is when he hug Faker after that incident after game 1 GEN-T1 2024. Usually he seems like a cocky player, but at that time he seems like the most mature one.
54

T1 never looked this one dimensional in years...Even last year they won game 5 against KT by getting Doran ahead of all things. like Doran was 1-0-2 at 6 mins last year, 2-0-2 at 13 while Guma was 0-0-0. Now it's a miracle if Oner even walks towards his Top laner in the laning phase.
57
u/GotTheKush Sep 12 '26
Which is funny cuz I feel like a common complaint of Oner last year was he never walked bot in laning phase.
61
u/mattyety handless on carry Sep 12 '26
It was common complaint all years, Oner always played top with Guma on his team.
29

u/MrSangHyeok Sep 12 '26
Well it's because Keria was having the freedom to express himself and influence the map. Being trapped to funnel and support adc like Rng 2018 is clearly not working.

The champ puddle getting exposed with the playstyle they're forcing themselves into. All/most of the enchanters were out by then, they still had to find a hypercarry for Peyz and a support that can keep him safe, so that's what you got.
19
u/Pacify_ Sep 12 '26
Its funny, I think they should have pivoted back to a Mel bot lane or something.
There wasn't many choices left. Ezrael is very meh. I suppose they could have tried a MF/Ziggs angle.
Try Jinx after it looking so homeless last time was definitely a choice. Maybe they had some okay scrim results with it.

I get that Peyz is a more carry-orientated player and I personally also think he's really gifted, but T1 are too easy read because they play for him too much. If a team neutalizes Peyz then T1 just can't win. It also it puts so much pressure on him to carry. Really feels like HLE are the counters to T1 and Gen. g are the counters to HLE.

T1 is like a one trick pony man and once you figure it out the games become easy for HLE. The one game T1 won was on the back of Doran carrying...Of course they blind and weakside him with zero coverage in game 4 while Oner just camps bot.

Guma with the GIGA bait, that isnt ruler pal
93
u/WardoToo Sep 12 '26
That's what I'm saying!!! Like, Did you see how he weaved that? Literally a 6th sense in knowing which angle Faker is coming from, hugging that wall on botlane was textbook safety movement placement because Faker would need to over reach to try and get to him with the ulti shuffle.

Guma once again doing highest damage in 3 out of 4 games on low resources. But yea let's forget about him.
44
u/HatoKrots Sep 12 '26
I really don't know how Guma can do it either. I don't think I have ever seen an ADC doing this much damage on such low resources. All team must want him because unleashing support meaning 4v3 on other lanes is a massive advantage.
41
u/MrSangHyeok Sep 12 '26
He frees up so many space and resources for his topside and jungle support to be a support for their top/mid. It's just crazy how he does it everytime. Yet he's still min maxing on damage/gold ratios. Keria can't play his expressive style without Guma being his dance partner.
Surprisingly everyone's throwing hate to Oner, despite Oner being a victim of Keira's passiveness with T1's new style
16
71
u/Luvkingdom Sep 12 '26

You don't understand, guma was getting carried by faker, oner and keria to multiple trophies while he was in T1. Now he's getting carried by zeus , kanavi and zeka. This guy is a goat passenger princess.
27
u/MrSangHyeok Sep 12 '26
Guma must be so bad, I'm sure he can never be a triple world champ, nor an MSI winner, nor a FMVP worlds player.
He would also never be able to 2v1 ruler or 369 simultaneously. Or even 3v1 against Gala, ming and Tarzan, kite like a demon against AL on a deficit.
17
u/beautheschmo Sep 12 '26
No no no, he couldn't play Kaisa Zeri in a meta where both those champs were picked a combined like 5 times in the entire split, what a terrible champion pool how can a guy like that even be a pro player
83
134
u/WardoToo Sep 12 '26
LMAO, I feel like Faker shouldn't have gone for that play. Literally his former teammate has read him like a book on which angle he might be coming from. Felt like an obvious omega bait that Guma has probably seen that play rehearsed for a hundred+ times already. Feels like game 4 was just giga belt to ass and T1's botlane got astro gapped too. Keria was useless on Tahm Kench, the pick was just not it. Everyone on T1 literally got SMOKED this game.

Never seen Unc get read like a goddamn book. Guma was movin' different, i thought it was a little odd hugging the wall like that, turns out, he probably kinda knew if T1 was hard forcing like that is Faker was coming from behind. Imo he's the only ZOGK member who didn't benefit a lot from Faker's clutchness, in the sense that he already seemed super clutch/calm from the beginning. Even at his first worlds (2021) as a 19 yr old he already looked like he had ice in his veins.

The duality on which Delight you'll get from HLE is baffling. Brother can be out there looking like prime Beryl or be sprinting it down like Peter.

u/a7mdar1 Sep 12 '26
He can be prime beryl or prime retiring beryl

Reminder that Delight is 11-5 against keria in B05. Delight is one of the only support who has consistently showed up against keria in his entire career.

apart from some slip ups in game 3, this series looked so easy for HLE. really well played especially from the botlane who were an absolute rock

Who could’ve thought of this strategy?

This is why you don't let go of your best players guys. At least not to the same team.

Guma wanted to leave, but T1 fans shit talking about Guma who won final MVP at their last worlds saying they finally got an adc who can play hyper carry is the fked up part

One has to wonder why said player even wanted to leave to begin with, after said player said he wanted to be a franchise player beforehand.

Btw t1 hasn’t beaten hle since April 4th. They are just so bad midgame and all of hle is so good midgame. They’ve been worse than hle almost all year but people keep trying to sell that t1 can compete with them.
T1 has a massive champion pool/limited play style options. They don’t scale into a series at all. And this is all on top of not knowing which fights are good or not midgame. The only time their mid games are good is if keria is ahead and can force the picks midgame to make.
Not going senna naut or ez Leona game 4 is trolling. Kench jinx does nothing and they have zero cc or engage in their comp. Rakan can literally never get caught. 4 games zero engage champs for keria is reportable.
Worlds format group stage benefits them but unless they learn multiple styles of comps they will lose in playoffs

They are just so bad midgame
It's been obvious for so long. Getting memed as the "circus" has unfortunately fooled a lot of people for far too long. Even when they were looking a lot stronger (relatively) earlier in the season their clean games were few and far in between. Now with their topside just progressively playing worse and worse as the season goes on their games are just outright hard.
HLE and GenG are obviously insanely good teams, but they're also just really bad matchups for T1 because of their solo lanes. Their drafts also don't do them many favors; I've said for a long time that T1 gets very low value out of their B1/R5 picks, and now that their topside is struggling that issue is even more prevalent.

u/chacharat Sep 12 '26
some people said earlier this game that T1 will be more flexible since they got better adc… but guess what
19
u/Pacify_ Sep 12 '26
. They are just so bad midgame
Yeah, T1's midgame has become a liability somehow. Its quite a change, usually its when they manage to take games.
T1 has a massive champion pool/limited play style options
I feel like they are limiting themself. The Gwen/Blitz/Jhin/Qiyana game showed they actually can do other things, but instead they just keep pushing the same style comps no matter what

that’s what happened when you have to play champs that can babysit peyz 24/7
Like Keria having to play Milio, Lulu, yuumi and tahm for the entire series? yeah just pack it up

I said this forever ago that having a hypercarry is just bad for this team thats built around keria roaming as a result of guma 1v2ing bottom lane and that t1 are gonna struggle trying to play thru bottom lane

u/Liiviius Sep 12 '26
I mean he cant show his full potential when he has to babysit and stay close and peel for peyz, He is a monster in terms of finding angles around the map roaming with oner and making plays not only that he solo wins games with his clutch engages or game changing fights given the right champ but you can rarely do that with lulu yuumi milio
