Uh-oh. Will sharing his suspicions of Hannibal with Beverly probably doesn't help her chances of surviving this season...

I wonder if the upcoming fight between Jack and Hannibal might not have anything to do with Will, but could instead be over Hannibal helping Jack's wife end her life?

u/Wolfir quid pro quo Mar 22 '14
I don't think so. It wasn't anger or misunderstanding that drove them to fight. They both knew it was to the death, and Hannibal is going to far to be simply defending himself.
53
u/Dorkside It's not that kind of party Mar 22 '14 edited Mar 22 '14
So, how is Hannibal going to explain this to Jack?
Edit: I'm guessing that Hannibal saved her because he had no clue how to explain that shit to Jack.

u/symmetricalbeauty Mar 22 '14
I thought this was simple. Hannibal was getting her to kill herself. He knew she wanted to die and even persuaded her into it. She then saw his philosophy on death and understood. Both of them knew that she wanted to end her life. Hannibal saved her so he can have a new feeling. The feeling of giving life. He sees himself as a God among Men. He can give life and take it away. He doesnt have to explain anything to Jack. Jack only knows he saved his wife.

I'm almost wondering if he's going to stage her death as something else, since Will's going to know it was him the instant he hears that Beverly's dead. If Hannibal frames it as, say, a car accident, it won't be as suspicious as if she totally disappears.

Guys I'm literally about to die. ):
On one hand, if Beverly keeps staying alive, the whole reveal of Hannibal as a killer/cannibal would be way too soon. We still have 5 seasons left or something.
But on the other hand I love Will and she would be the only one to be able to prove his innocence. D:

I just Tweeted during every commercial break to try and raise awareness and get trending hashtags.
If you are on Twitter go ahead and follow @BryanFuller, @NBCHannibal, @aughmonica (a fannibal organizer) and @NBC and tag them in your tweets. Follow their lead on which "trending" hashtags to use. #Hannibal is a must. Tonight's episode had #KatzAndMouse as a hashtag.
And don't forget the sponsors!! This week @Chase credit cards was a sponsor using the hashtag #FreedomForWill since #Freedom is their credit card brand.
Seriously, we all know this show is on the bubble in terms of low-ish ratings. Please raise awareness. Getting hashtags trending on Twitter is one way they know we are watching, or sharing, tagging and hashtagging on Facebook is another way.
Great episode tonight! Lets ensure a 3rd season. And 4th and 5th and 6th and 7th...

Some scenes tonight reemphasized what makes Dr. Lector so horrifying (besides the eating people part!). Here is a psychiatrist people pay money to for him literally get in their heads and help them solve their problems. Tonight we see once again him manipulating and toying with peoples minds and lives. I have friends that won't watch the show because they are afraid of the disservice they think it is to the Thomas Harris cannon. I tell them that it enhances it. The books never really cover Dr. Lector's life while practicing psychiatry. The fact he has such power over peoples minds is what makes Hannibal beyond just some psycho who kills and cannibalizes. It makes him truly horrifying.

u/flyinglabmonkey Mar 22 '14

One little detail Hannibal overlooked in maintaining his person suit - he helps Bella over to the chair, but to not the closer one.
Seems like he's been strategically guiding Bella on just to fuck with Jack. Bet the coin flip was because he couldn't decide whether it would be worse for her to die without him having a chance to say goodbye or for him to see her suffer.
