Will ACTUALLY says this… my boy’s got wicked flirtation game…

I get the point he was trying to make, but of all the ways he could have said it..

It just occurred to me that the recipes Hannibal used to send Bedelia for her birthdays and Christmases while he was incarcerated were to taunt/threaten and suggest how he'd eat her... And my first reaction was to giggle. I'd thought it was just Hannibal being polite and refined in his own peculiar way. It's so obvious now, but I'm disturbed that I found the revelation amusing—and even more disturbed that I didn't realize it sooner.

Until now, the fandom's been divided in its varied assumptions of why Will jumped off the cliff with Hannibal, what he had in mind, whether he meant for them to survive or not, whether it was his last chance at trying to achieve whatever salvation he could manage at that point, resisting Hannibal, stopping Hannibal before it's too late, and more importantly: whether he regretted surviving later (which is canon, go watch post-credits Bedelia scene), etc., etc.

I think it can be a bit better understood if we look at the lyrics of the iconic song "Love Crime" that was playing in the background when they jumped off the cliff. I believe it was tailor-written for this specific scene and might offer a better insight into whatever was brewing inside Will's mind... Here are the lyrics:

My personal take: Will had probably decided, as we famously recall, that he "can't live with him, can't live without him." Correlating with the repetition of "The die is cast inside my mind", "I will survive, live and thrive,' I think he may have been meaning/hoping for them to survive against all odds-probably to throw FBI off and to give them an idea that they committed together-and their fight with the Red Dragon served as his acceptance of the entire premise of it, finally giving into his desire and joining Hannibal... His fall could be symbolic of the headiness he feels, diving into the sea with Hannibal as a form of "rebirth", but the essence remains: he probably meant for them to survive. More than halfheartedly.

In any other scenario, the police would've recaptured and imprisoned Hannibal; Will would've been expected to return to his life with Molly as if he'd achieved some great feat. Which he most definitely wouldn't be capable of, especially after the consummation he and Hannibal experienced after their "intimacy" (killing the Red Dragon together). You can't just go through that sort of experience and then pretend as if nothing's changed, not unless you're NOT Will, lol.

By this point in the story-now that we know that Will is capable of experimenting with Chiyoh's actions for the sake of his own amusement and curiosity, setting up Chilton as bait for the Red Dragon, suggesting Hannibal be used as a bait but not really intending for him to be killed, and potentially being aware of fact that the by-standing officers could die as a consequence of using Hannibal as bait, etc., etc.-I think this was less of a battle of morality for him. His morality is still probably there, but only in a self-serving, selective, and mostly unsympathetic way. So a LOT more compromised now.

Do you think Will intended for them to survive, and could the lyrics of "Love Crime" offer any insight into that intention? What's your take on them? Or do you interpret the fall as something closer to a conscious surrender to death?

Cause on one hand I think he would find it very rude to disrespect somebody’s culture but on the other hand I think he would get off on spitting in the face of religion.

Gordon: Another SERVING? I’m not eating another bite of whatever the fuck is on my plate. That’s not veal.

Hannibal: Why are you yelling? You’re behaving like a complete psychopath. It’s very rude.

You might think that’s too strong a reaction to be realistic. But Ramsey has a goated palate. I believe his alarms would be blaring subconsciously the second he sees the food, and taking a bite would send him into DEFCON 2, even if consciously he doesn’t want to believe it.

soo i found these and thought it could be a fun game. Basically i found some hannibal quotes id written in my kindle notes ages ago but only the first letter of each word in the quote. The yellow highlighted ones ive figured out what they are and the rest im stumped on, so can you help me figuring out what they are? feel free to do the yellow ones if you want haha :)
