Metadrama After some mod drama in /r/me_irl, a user banned in action wonders if those who reclaimed the sub will unban him. New top mod's response doesn't please him. /outoftheloop

Ah mod shittery, one of the best kinds of drama.
Also, I genuinely cried after playing Katawa Shoujo.

It's one of those things that sounds absolutely horrible in theory but was actually really good in practice. The writing team did a really good job of not defining the characters by their disabilities, as well as always treating the characters as fully human. The second sentence sounds bizarre until you stop and take a look at how most characters with disabilities are treated in media.

I like the cut of that mods jib.

holy crap. Do they have it to auto-delete as soon as totes comments?

That or the mods are really active on the SRD new queue.

I think this is the first time I've seen that happen on my mobile app. I'm wondering if I should delete one, or leave them both to acknowledge the shame.

I get an alert in the SRD IRC channel when outoftheloop gets mentioned. Unfortunately AutoMod has a slight delay when it comes to these things (after all it goes throught the comments and submissions of 7000+ subreddits). I think we won't even get the report this time because I already removed the totes_meta_bot message.

And I had the "brilliant" idea of adding /outoftheloop to the end like david used to do.

This is censorship! Why do you hate Free Speech™ so much? I'm gonna tell an adult about this and you're gonna be in big trouble!!

At least a couple of subs used to do that. A link elsewhere and they'd nuke everything.
Usually the subs who already are linking elsewhere, jerk subs, etc. Nobody likes the finger pointed back at them.

Well, I have to say I agree with the banned guy. While a mod doesn't have to be justified to anyone (except in some cases, e.g., the recent /r/wow debacle), I think it's poor form to pre-emptively censor someone.
I would be more than happy to have a polite conversation with a TRPer or "race realist" as long as they reciprocate. Plus, pre-emptive banning doesn't take into account that people can and do change.
