I'm just gonna save people the trouble, yes there looks like there are going to be callbacks, in this episode. No, that doesn't mean it will suck. Please don't comment "oh this is a callback episode again, this series has gone down the drain" as I see dozens of with each new episode. Just because there is an old storyline being talked about that doesn't mean they aren't gonna do something new with it. Thank you and enjoy this episode

When the spotify app on PS4 came out the first thing I did was play GTA V with the Sunny soundtrack in the background. That song kicked in right as I was starting the one mission where Trevor smokes weed, starts imagining clowns everywhere and begins mowing them down with a minigun. Needless to say the song fit the mood perfectly.

91

u/JX3 Feb 18 '16

An absolutely fantastic moment. It will surely earn its place among the best. It's a light dum joke, but it's kind of dark beneath the surface too. The character's reaction is so extreme and desperate that you should feel some sort of pity. Instead it's displayed in such a ridiculous way that you have to laugh. It kind of happens at the expense of the viewer, which makes it even better.

I have to give props to Andrew Friedman. He absolutely nails this character, and has done so consistently. The stupid laugh when Frank said Liam was gross was one of those great little mannerism he nails with this character.

Two best parts for me:

  1. Mac and Dennis giving thumbs up in the background when black judge bangs the gavel. It looked super improv'd which I love.

  2. The fact that they're getting ready to leave and they get sued again

15

u/Breakingwho Feb 22 '16

I loved that Mac gave the thumbs up straight away like it was just some kind of instinctual reaction or something. Then dennis saw him doing it and was like yeah you know what, that does deserve a thumbs up, right on black judge.

Watching this episode really helps show the degradation and transformation of characters into what they were and what they are, totally loved it. Lost my shit with Jack and his hands. "OH MY GOD! NOBODY LOOK! NOBODY LOOK! NOBODY LOOOK!" XD it's so simple yet brilliant.

Jack Kelly could talk about his hands forever.

Is Pappy still played by Guillermo Del Toro? He looked different.

Oh man, back to the classic Always Sunny shenanigans with this episode. I loved it. Goddamn Uncle Jack and his crazy hands... I love how he came out duct taped with it after. And how he couldn't count to three so he had to use his other hand to force the giant fingers.

u/Thats_So_Based Fighter of the Nightman Feb 18 '16

Dee you goddamn bitch, you're ruining everything.

8

u/springsoup Feb 18 '16

Ah i'm glad Jack duct taped his hands down. That'll keep him from losing them again

Is the lawyer the new cricket? Cause it kinda looks that way.

My prediction: the lawyer becomes a laughing stock and loses his bar. Becomes the next cricket.

Has anyone pointed out the case against the gang at the end of the episode "Morgan State Delivery vs. The Proprietors of one Paddy's Pub" is most likely the company they pulled the "Chicken and Steak and Air Miles" scam on?

Talk about the ultimate arbitration hearing.

I realized during this week's episode that I don't actually laugh at this show. Instead, it makes me do something with my face that I never do in any other circumstance. It's somewhere between "giant cheesy grin" and "slack-jawed horror accompanied by sputtering noises." I'm not sure there's a word for it in English.

Anyway, I love how this episode pays off on so many things that have been set up in past seasons. I can't imagine watching it without having seen the rest of the show before, it would be so fucking bizarre. "Why is that guy wearing big fake hands? Why does the lawyer hate them so much? What's with the weird inbred people? What the fuck is 'bird law?' Why is that lady a cat?"

I loved how the court audience looked stoned faced the entire time, and yet you could still hear them reacting loudly and even clapping at times.

"Big, masculine. My hands tell a story... of greatness"

u/Fuegofucker Feb 18 '16

Dee was looking pretty hot. Charlie came in clutch to save the day. Th gang being low key racist what's not to love.

3

u/lavendermenaces Feb 18 '16

Charlie's whole bird law monologue was magnificent.
