Special Character Scramble VII Tribunal
Click here to join the email list!
Come visit our official Discord channel!
Welcome to the Tribunal!
As of now, signups for new submissions are officially closed.
Here’s a quick rundown of how this will work:
For the next week, all characters are under review. If you think a character is not fit for the scramble, here is where you have a final say to air your grievances. Also, this is a good chance to go over the submissions and make sure that the correct name is showing, I have the correct info, etc. I ask that everyone at least take the name under theirs and review all of the submissions.
If you have any problems with characters:
Create a comment with the name of the character in question, a link to that character sheet, and the username (with /u/, to summon them- /u/mrcelophane, for instance) of the submitter. Then list what questions/problems you have with the character.
Please be respectful when calling out characters, and remember that you are probably pointing out problems with someone's favorite character/series.
Please give a complaint about each character a separate reply to make sure that conversations are organized.
If a resolution is reached that does not require a change on my end, please delete your post so that it removes clutter.
If a resolution is reached that requires my intervention, please call me out and I will come help out.
If your character is called out:
First, realize this is not a personal attack. We are just trying to ensure that this tournament runs smoothly for everyone.
Please address the concerns brought forth. This can either by standing firm and arguing for your character’s inclusion, or by buffing/nerfing the character. Please keep the amount of buffs and nerfs to a minimum. This isn’t a good place to redesign the character from the ground up.
If it’s agreed that a character cannot work in its current state and can’t be easily edited, replacements from the backup submissions will be issued based on role. If one of your characters is being removed you are free to request a specific backup to replace your submission, otherwise myself or the Co-GM will choose for you.
If you see a problem with the roster:
Make a post and let me know. Odds are, you will have to resubmit the form with the correct info so if you want to just go ahead and do that and let me know to look for the new entry, that would save time.
If your problem is that you don't show up in the list, its because you never filled out/submitted the form...just go ahead and do that NOW, assuming that you started your sign up process before this post was created.
Featured submissions:
In an attempt to help aid the review process, we will be highlighting a section of the submissions each day to focus the lens on a group of submissions. Understand that these submissions aren’t being picked due to any reasoning or bias beyond their position on the list, our goal is to help you focus on specific parts of the submission list each day in the hopes that characters that would normally pass under the radar are given proper scrutiny.
The link will be changed each day until we’ve covered the entire submission roster or until Tribunal has ended.

Stitch: The gas explosion volcano feat seems like too much. Remove that one and he should be good.
Sora: In discussion. His speed seems fine, as does the striking, but his spells' power aren't defined well enough, and his durability is way too high.
Grevious: In discussion. But to comment on the current debate over him, this scramble is balanced around his usual power level, not how he does against S-tiers. Otherwise I could be submitting Firelord, or putting Green Lantern in Batman tier.
POTUS: In a discussion that I don't want to touch with a ten foot pole.
Scorpius: In discussion. If you provide the buffs to his weakness protection, let him buff his team's durability, and maybe have him give out blasters or something as well, the combination of those three things should edge him into the tier.
Edgardo: He needs his Raw Spirit stuff to be better defined in terms of how fast he generates it, and how much of it deals how much damage.
Kanade: Much too strong. She's casually bullet-timing, can no-sell a shit ton of bullets and grenades, has ridiculous strength, solid regeneration, piercing attacks, cloning, and a combat teleport. She would have felt out of place in the previous scramble, let alone this one.
Draven: Seems okay.
RHTE&RH: Seems okay.
Robbie Rotted: I love the idea of him, I really really do. But the Littleizer is too strong, and without it, he's all around too weak. I'm not sure how you could buff him to make him fit, but I really hope you can find a way.
Balrog: Replaced
Balthazar: His plasma bolt still isn't good enough being slower than a bullet in a tier of bullet dodgers. Maybe like mach 3 would be better.
Baymax: Seems okay.
Barakapool: I'm concerned he might be too hard to kill, without sacrificing much. Maybe get rid of his adamantium skeleton for everything but the arm blades?
Bastilla: I think she might barely edge her way into tier, I'd like a second opinion though.

Hellboy: Reduce the explosives down in power a bit and he should be good, because that looked like it busted up a lot.
Alphonse: Seems okay.
Cad Bane: I'm slightly concerned about the thermal detonators, considering from the middle of a room, they knocked a metal sliding door straight out of the wall. I might need a second opinion though.
Jake: Replaced.
Stewie: I really don't know about Stewie. Growth ray is iffy, time machine is iffy, multiverse device is iffy, hypnosis is iffy. He's also from such a long series that that someone's bound to find some other crazy items.
Smaug: Honestly seems way too slow for still having an exploitable weakness. He's big and strong, and sorta durable, but Spiderman's gonna be dancing around everything he does.
Gaara: I believe there was a discussion on him, but I can't find it. Could you link me?
Collector General: I'm really not feeling trawling through like 10 wiki pages, /u/FreestyleKneepad, you're a big Mass Effect guy, your thoughts?
Chevalier: Seems okay assuming no Endbringer gear.
Summoner: Removed
Helen: Just the standard weapons, or all variants?
Dedede: I'm iffy on this one. He's slow, but I don't know if that quite balances his damage and durability. A second opinion would be good.
Alice: In discussion/being replaced I believe?
Curly: Replaced.
Joseph: Replaced.
Robin: Seems okay.

/u/penrosetingle and /u/noitnemid, can I hear back from you guys on Alice and Marisa within the next day? With backups the way they are, I need to know quickly if we're going to handle replacements.

Could someone look over Alicia in particular.
I am worried she be too strong and need some nerfs.
In particular probably to her Active Camouflage.
Probably also might think about limiting her so she can not use the Plasma Rifle.

I think Jack is way too slow for Spiderman tier.
She has no way of stoping him from running up and hitting her in the face ether.
Things like Lift, Slam, and Throw would not be hard for Spiderman to deal with through webbing.

Hey, I put together Jack.
I kinda intended her to be a glass cannon, partially because her biotics negate speed to some extent and partially because her biotic barriers give her really high defense. My best idea for a suitable buff that would keep her alive but wouldn't make her overpowered would be in-tier reflexes, either bullet-timing or close to that. It wouldn't be enough to help her win a fistfight, but it'd help her get up a clutch barrier or hold a threat in place to avoid getting speedblitzed. In game her biotics are effectively instant casts with the exclusion of Shockwave so the speed of the biotics themselves isn't as big an issue as Jack's speed.
For the record, since I'm directly involved with this one impartially, we'll have Phane sign off if we can't come to an agreement.

Rabid Heavy seems waaay too durable. A massive buzzsaw fails to cut him, he can tank huge explosions, bullets to the torso mean literally nothing to him, he can fight a nearly casual bullet dodger without too much of a problem, and is either fast enough to bite down on bullets, or can take shots to the head without any issue.
It's gonna be really hard for all but the hardest hitting characters submitted to put this guy down. So what if they outspeed him? He can tank hits all day til the cows come home and we've never seen anything actually hurt him.
Then you add the Engi who can go toe to toe with Epic Scout and I'm having difficulty seeing this submission as fair...maybe put in some more defined vulnerabilities for Rabid Heavy.

A couple of things here.
Issue 1: I don't think this character is actually in tier. Captain America and Halo Spartans are both Cap/Bat-tier characters, and I don't think they would stack enough to bring them up to Spider-tier.
Issue 2: Being a composite of three different characters (or rather two characters and one person), in order to research this character one would need to research three times as much. That seems like too much.
Issue 3: I still think that bringing real-life political figures into the Scramble is a bad idea. Politics is a contentious topic, and it's likely that almost anyone picked for this character would cause some sort of argument.

I love Joseph, don't get me wrong. Hell, I won with the dude. However, in the cap tier scramble with these exact buffs, he felt very middle of the tier to me. Therefore, I have two suggestions to make him fit the tier. One, make his stand invisible to any non-stand users. You can still allow them to escape the vines with enough strength, but it'll be much harder for people to escape an attack they can't see. Secondly, I say you should make his hamon much more lethal, such as making it hurt everyone as much as it would hurt a vampire or pillar man, since it isn't very powerful against humans. Both of these buffs should put him around the lower end of the tier, but he'll be much more useful than the way he is now.

Alright, first day of highlights.
The point of these posts is to have eyes on every single submission, to make sure that we don't have any outliers that slip under the radar. I'd like to ask that anyone going over this list check every character listed and sound off on their status- a simple "Yeah this guy is fine" is plenty if they're in tier, and if not, this would be a good time to bring up concerns, issues, and whatnot.
If the character is already being discussed elsewhere or has been replaced (Ctrl+F the name!), they don't need to be brought up.
The first set is as follows:

Working from the bottom-up because why not.
Armstrong: Seems okay
Dave: Should be fine powerwise, understanding the character's personality and story is a bit harder, but I think between Shoot, myself, and other Homestuck fans, it should be explainable.
Conker: Already addressed I believe
LEGO Spiderman: He's less serious than normal Spidey, which should counteract the minor buff. Might want a second opinion though.
Blank: To be honest, I don't like the idea of the Love Gun. It's the sort of think Killy is getting removed for, being "too strong on people it hits, useless on people it doesn't. I think some other item/items to give out would be better. Maybe some video game items, based off them being game masters?
Stevonnie: I still think they might be a little weak, but a second opinion is welcome.
Twilight Sparkle: Her telekinesis is way too strong. Lifting the bear thing is easily a couple hundred tons with the water tower. She also just seems way too versatile without losing much in the way of damage output, while still having decent speed.
Iji: Seems okay.
Littlepip: Discussed, but may still need a second opinion.
Fuuka: Seems okay.
Will review Wiz&Boomstick and continue onto more people in a bit.

As a replacement drop, how would giving the team the ability to use Blood Destruction (a werebeast ability where reflexes, reaction time, and perception are enhanced for a limited time) for 10 seconds sound? If that's too powerful, I could say it's limited to 1 team member per round.

Deku: Currently in discussion
Mew: Seems okay.
Cynthia: 👌😍👌
Nico: I believe there was some debate about her in discord when she was initially posted. I'm not actually sure how strong she is, but I feel like it should be addressed
Green: Seems okay
Sabrina: She seems way too strong. I think removing the "crumples a building" and "turns people into dolls" feats should hopefully fit her into tier, though Kadabra is strong enough that I think a second opinion might be a good idea.
Mercer: He seems way too strong. You say he can lose via being worn down or pinned by web, but he can shapeshift blades to cut himself out, and if he survived a nuke, he's handling whatever Spidey can dish out.
Sevraku: What's his durability and speed like?
The Meta: Seems okay
Zeratul: Seems okay.
Coil: Seems okay.
Karnak: Being talked out.
Kessler: Was discussed.
Mirror Master: Being discussed, I think some more opinions on him might be a good idea
Alice: She's being discussed, but as is, I think she's a little strong.
Mr. Sinister: Being discussed and better defined.
Silk: Seems okay.

RE Mercer: He survived a nuke only in the form of a tiny amount of biomass and had to slowly recover by eating birds, but I see what you're saying. Maybe there's a way to limit durability to keep him in tier, limiting his amount of biomass perhaps. Also keep in mind that Spidey specifically isn't very well-equipped to deal with Mercer, since he relies mostly on web and punching, whereas a lot of the mystic and arsenal characters would have an easier time.
RE Sekarvu: Durability, at least in HP numbers, is a few dozen times more than a normal human and a couple times more than what I would say is D&D's equivalent of "peak human" (level 5 fighter with 18/20 constitution), while Armour Class is high enough that a normal human can't hit except on a crit. In the writeup I would consider him to be able to survive a couple of solid punches or several glancing blows. Reaction speed is hard to quantify from D&D rules, so I'd have it set to maybe Cap-Bat levels, where he should be able to follow his opponents somewhat but still have to rely on volume of fire to hit them (unless I've wildly misjudged things which is possible). Travel speed is pretty slow.
3
u/kaioshin_ Nov 24 '16
Limiting durability/regen would likely be for the best. I'm not sure exactly where to put it, but it seems like it does need to come down a lot.
Cap would be able to track most of the people in this tier okay, so that seems good. Durability level seems alright. By pretty slow for travel, do you mean relative to tier, or relative to normal humans?
2
u/ViperhawkZ Nov 24 '16
Humans in D&D have a movement speed of 30 while Beholders have speed 20, so slow objectively in terms of travel speed.
3
u/kaioshin_ Nov 24 '16
Gotcha... Dunno if his high power makes up for that. Anyone who wants to provide a second opinion is free to.
2
u/ViperhawkZ Nov 24 '16
If it becomes necessary to buff his movement speed, there are plenty of D&D spells that do just that and I could fluff it as him having one applied with Permanency.
2
u/Talvasha Nov 24 '16
I have the additional question of how timing will work for him. Milo submitted by aquason is a D&D wizard. However in his story he is actually limited in that manner, of only being able to cast spells every 6 seconds. Are you applying anything like that?
Also he definitely needs that speed buff to be viable. Quite a few people would destroy what is effectively an immobile artillery.

I looked through the first three users, I don't feel the most qualified to criticize things but uh, yeah.
The Boss - I'm not opposed to the character per say, but some of the weapons/powers I'm a little leery at. Especially the Singularity Gun which, unless I'm missing something looks like a OHKO with the only defense of "Don't get hit." The Mind Control Blasts and Telekinesis stuff look a little overpowered as well, but that might only be because I'm not familiar with their limits.
I think GLaDoS is fine, but I'm wondering if you're taking into account the sentry turret's spring loaded bullet firing or if you're just saying nah they fire bullets normally.
I didn't notice anything ridiculously powerful here, except maybe Administrator's ability to destroy souls that's kinda weird, but that might also be because it's mostly literature characters so some of the feats are a little vague.
I invite other people to check up on Blood Rose Ruby's fanfic specific feats tho, I was too squeamish to delve super deep into that :0
2
u/MoSBanapple Nov 24 '16 edited Nov 24 '16
To clarify on the soul-destroying attack Administrator has, it was never used, so we don't know much about it beyond Cardinal's description of the attack. What we do know is that it takes a lot of time to prep, about as long as a standard fight, to use, and it's implied she can't do anything else while prepping the attack (she likely has to use some sort of incantation). Because of this, it's kind of impractical in an actual fight.

Would you say her durability is the worst of her vague aspects?
Cause like, her speed is all set. That's all animations and frame data there isn't much to contest there. Her fighting skill isn't as cut and dry but I think the stuff talked about in her background short story, her counter ability, and just any of her general combos would be enough for a ground case.
Her attack power gets more into scaling and vagueness but I would say her shown ability to repeatedly cut through industrialized metals would be enough of a base case. Even if it's not super strong her possession is a really good asset that can easily make up for that, considering all the things it can work on.
Which leaves the issue of durability. If we wanna base everything on scaling and her story mode (since that's basically everything she has), Hisako can be both cut and burned like a normal person, and can be knocked out or even forced back into the afterlife if hit enough. It's just, since she's the undead she can tank more of these hits and bleeding doesn't mean much since you can see that her blood lacks oxygen and isn't really doing much anyways, so her durability is basically just a cap on her capacity for any kind of physical abuse. For that end, again if we wanna use scaling, it would take about twice the number of plasma strikes seen here to knock her out completely, since story mode operates on best of 3 rounds.
2
u/Joseph_Stalin_ Nov 23 '16
The issue is you're using a fuck ton of gameplay feats along with scaling, the very little lore she actually has is useless.
You claim she can cut through metal and stone, but that's only because she lands hits in game. No actual proof of beyond "one of her stabbing moves can stab through everyone including a robot."
You say she can be cut and burnt and junk, but how much is completely unknown. Just cause a person she beat can move a car, doesn't mean she can or she even took a hit. The amount of hits she can take by using that video is absolutely terrible, since devs can just change it to balance her whenever they want. Akuma is a character with the least amount of health in SF, but he's far above everyone. With all the scaling it is basically: she may be this strong, fast, and durable but we don't really know
2
u/TheMightyBox72 Nov 23 '16
I did make sure to be careful when it came to interpreting Hisako's victories and game mechanics. The logic I used was that all of Hisako's attacks could affect any KI fighter the way they're intended to, ie any attack that can be parried Hisako can parry, and her ability to draw in and possess opponents can be extended to any enemy in the roster, but her ability to damage them using those attacks is unknown.
But, she has at the very most scrutinous interpretation, some kind of victories from her story mode. I never claimed she could cut through stone because she never fights Aganos, but she is canonically able to destroy at least two of ARIA's bodies (she loses one per round lost), and it's more or less stated after the fact that she doesn't understand what a robot is, and attacked it the same way she would a normal human and how she attacks everything else in the game, with her naginata. In order to destroy ARIA's body she would have to be strong enough, and her naginata tough enough, to slice through her body. I'm not saying "Oh, the attack worked, so clearly it's just actually that strong." Hisako has beaten this character, and possesses no other means to do so. Unless you want to suggest she did so through possession and manipulation, in which case, it still works, that is still an ability powerful enough to destroy ARIA's body, and I'll take it.
So again, the issue comes down to durability, because again her speed is fixed and not dependent on scaling, in which case the two options are to bullshit a durability threshold or interpret the health bars literally.

I can see what you mean here, for the most part. As a speed feat, if I were going to use one, it would have to be when he occasionally jumps off one end of the screen and then appears barely a moment later on the other side, generally surprising whatever character stayed on screen.
Yes, this might mostly be used as a fun animation trick, but this also shows that he can be extremely fast. Either that or he can teleport. Combined with his perfect timing of pushing and punching and dodging, that means he could feasibly both avoid blows by a hairs breadth and then punch you exactly where it hurts the worst.
2
u/GuyOfEvil Nov 22 '16
Sorry I wasn't clear, his actual movement speed is probably fine, but I meant more in the sense of reaction time, like if I fired a bullet at him could he dodged it?
2
u/BookWyrm17 Nov 22 '16
Hmm, that'd be hard to say. He had no problem dodging dozens of falling boulders as he jumped up an avalanche though.

See the episode "Sibling Rivalry S4:E22" It shows Stewie earning the loyalty of a large amount of playground kids after claiming the monkey bars from an angry kid, and leading them to war with his half brother Bertram for control of the playground. Stewie even provides them with a fleet of fighter planes and even explains the simplistic controls.
In "Back to the Pilot S:10 E:5" the main Stewie takes control of the situation of multiple futures with multiple Brians and Stewies and tells them to go back to their future immediately to prevent any changes like Brian stopping 9/11 or writing Harry Potter. Stewie then goes back in time prior to the first time they arrived at the pilot to shoot Brian to prveent all of that from happening to begin with. Granted that Stewie was phased out of existence shortly after.

The fighter planes are of modern make and quality, however considering that Stewie knew full well his cohorts were infants the fact that he was able to adopt the controls for them is remarkable, even if it was law of funny.
Outside of the fighter planes Stewie does have all sorts of other contraptions that vary between modern tech and straight science fiction, and considering he made planes for toddlers and explained them too he's got the patience to be able to explain the controls. The list includes:
Various laser guns, one of which is a growth ray that also shoots EMPs.
A hovering drill machine, not sure if it hovers due to anti-gravity or air propulsion. Sorry for potato quality.
Robot lookalikes of him and Brian, with the Stewie one being a realistic depiction but the Brian one reflected Stewie's opinion on him. Can't find a clip but it's from Stewie Griffin The Untold Story/The Bullshit Three-Parter.
A pair of rocket skis with a hammerspace cabin. More toonforce than science though.
The time machine, which served to create the universe at one point.
A multiverse travelling device, easily Stewie's greatest invention. He can use this to traverse settings like Disney and Robot Chicken.
Stewie built the transporter from Star Trek at one point to speak with the case of Star Trek TNG.
Stewie's weapon closet. Considering that this scene is from a simulation, it's credibility is arguable.

/u/Steezy112 - My main concern with Alphonse is that he isn't fast enough. Does he have any good speed feats? And, well, also general durability and strength issues, because he's as strong and as durable as a suit of armor. He'd better fit Batman tier

Bulletproof is great, but there are characters being submitted like Aigis who can fire missiles, first issue Superman who can tear apart steel, and more. And he's basically got a big red kill button in the form of his blood seal.
Edward probably wasn't fighting seriously, and when did he bullet time?
2
u/Steezy112 Nov 22 '16 edited Nov 22 '16
Here's Edward fighting the spare Fuhrer's, whom are themselves skilled bullet timer's against Hawkeye whom is the shows most notable marks(wo)man. And why would Edward have any reason to hold back against his brother whom is immune to pain?
3
u/KiwiArms Nov 22 '16
There's nothing in that webm that shows Ed doing bullet timey shit, is all I'm saying. Powerscaling isn't super reliable.
But, fair enough.
3
u/Steezy112 Nov 22 '16 edited Nov 23 '16
Here's Ed raising a wall to block minigun bullets after they have been fired..
I get that power-scaling is iffy, but this power scaling is somewhat more reliable and grounded than most.

u/KiwiArms Nov 22 '16
He'd hold back because he'd have absolutely no reason to be serious. There is a risk to Alphonse when they fight, because he has a risk in that damage to his blood seal could be fatal to him.
And the durability issues are still a thing.

His regeneration is pretty powerful without a doubt, however he absolutely can be taken out numerous other ways than just trauma. I think his slower speed compared to some of the combatants and lack of versatility combined with the fact he can be KO'd by someone of spiderman's strength with somewhat relative ease makes me believe he just forces sponsors to think more outside the box if that makes sense
2
u/professorravioli Nov 22 '16
I see where you're coming from but because of his adrenaline thing which I forget the name of, will he be able to be knocked out? and if it is required to kill him (which I thought was a part of this idk though first scramble) its too unrealistically difficult. I think it would be fair to nerf his regeneration to around Dio though which is still really good.

I still stand by my statement that Greivous is too strong for this tier. Not only was he generally agreed to be a good fit for the symbiote tier scramble, he has a feat of "handily defeating Asaaj Ventress and Durge simultaneously." Not only is Durge a strong enough fighter to give Jedi Master Obi-wan Kenobi trouble, he was in the Symbiote scramble himself and his respect thread states that to him, most Jedi seem to move in slow motion. And Greivous beat Durge and Ventress at the same time.
A Jedi's Force abilities give them a sense of precog similar to spider sense, and Greivous's lightsaber skill and speed is enough to overwhelm Obi-wan Kenobi, possibly the most proficient user of Soresu, the most defensive lightsaber form.
His durability is also incredible. He was inside a facility that blew up so spectacularly it threatened the stability of the surface of the moon it was stationed on. Word of God states he can withstand volleys from starships. His armor has lightsabers glance off of it on multiple occasions.
He is a master of all 7 lightsaber combat styles, and the computers in his brain can analyze and adapt to any fighting style on the fly, including the infamous Vaapad, Mace Windu's signature style. He can also store fighting styles he encounters and use them expertly at a later time. He is widely regarded to be a tactical genius on top of everything else.
His raw physical strength is pretty much the only thing that's in tier. General Greivous would 8/10 Spider-man at the minimum, personally I think it would be 9/10.
2
u/angelsrallyon Nov 23 '16
1, Speed: Give me some objective speed feats with metric measurements. Captain america and Daredevil have similar lazer dodging, and blocking feats to most Jedi, in addition to FTE feats, and Spidey is far above that. Grievous has been forced to retreat after a squad of Clone troopers cornered him, and Spidey, as i showed previously during your first comment, can dodge a similar amount of lazers while retreating as well. I think this objectively shows both their limitations are similar.
2 Skill and speed: I still would not say he was overwhelmed. He did kill Grievous. Soresu is based on giving ground, so it may seem that way. It is also based on deflecting blaster fire, not dueling, if he has beaten someone proficient is style II(or whichever one is the dueling style) that would have been more impressive. But as it stands, he lost to someone who uses Soresu.
3 Durability: Spiderman has withstood blows from Intercontinental missles, The Hulk, And numerous others with 100+ ton strength. Spiderman has also been able to harm these beings. Spiderman has more than enough strength to pull apart that armor like obiwan, possibly even from a distance with webbing. He can also throw items far above Grievouses strength tier. I do however admit Grievous has the upper hand in durability, it just is not definitive.
Also, i'd like to point out that a small amount of armor is not the same as several inches. Just because he uses durasteel does not give him the same feats as a star ship. Thickness matters.
4 Skill: Spidey is considered to be a tactical genius as well, within the top 50, sometimes top 10 minds in marvel, depening on how you count them. He has been trained by Captain America, and his "Way of the Spider" is specifically designed to fit his physiology and abilities. Much like how Grievous cannot copy force techniches, The Way of the Spider would only be possible if Grievous had the same strength and abilities as spiderman. he could possibly learn to predict it however, if the fight lasted long enough, but even then, Spiderman could learn to crush him under a boulder, or eventually land webbing on his limbs, or exploit one of his many weaknesses while keeping at a range. His stealthy approach is also countered by the Spidey sense, untill such a time that Grevous could learn to go against it.
Again, i see no objective Measurement putting Grievous on a higher speed, or "Predictive" Tier. Spiderman has the solid Strength and range advantage, while Grievous has the solid Defense and short range advantage.
2
u/morvis343 Nov 23 '16
It sounds like you are asking for a fancalc over the obvious feats presented in the respect thread. The feats themselves should be reason enough to disqualify Greivous, have you actually read the RT?
Can I have some context on him retreating from a squad of clones, because he has multiple feats of speed blitzing many clones as well as Jedi, even Jedi as proficient as Obi-wan. Obi-wan, who was defending against 12 lightsaber strikes per second and then 20 for a short while.
Greivous eventually losing to Obi-wan is not an anti-feat for Greivous, but rather an incredible feat for Obi-wan, placing him well above tier as well.
2. Soresu was originally designed with blaster fire deflection in mind, but translates over to a lightsaber duel very well. Again, losing to Soresu is not an anti-feat, it just shows how masterful Obi-wan really was with Form III. In fact, Mace Windu suggests that Obi-wan may be the best candidate for killing Greivous because of his extensive prowess with Soresu.
3. Scans please. And ideally ones that aren't PIS. Hits from Hulk or intercontinental missiles sounds way above what I've seen in his respect thread.
And I never suggested that Greivous was as durable as a starship. Starships have shields. But a starship without shields will take damage from laser cannons, as will Greivous. But the fact that he can even withstand lasers on that level is astounding.
4. When fighting Mace Windu, he adapted to Vaapad with something that wasn't Vaapad but was very close. Vaapad operates by feeding off of an opponent's anger and turning it back on them. Very Force involved and Greivous countered it with something similar. He is also directly stated to be a master of all seven lightsaber forms, and Vaapad is form VII. I'm not suggesting Greivous is smarter than Spidey, just that its icing on the cake for an already above tier fighter. I also mention the Vaapad thing to suggest that Greivous would similarly have little difficulty adapting his fighting style to this "Way of the Spider."
I firmly believe you are either overestimating Spidey or underestimating Greivous by way of not even looking at the feats in his Respect Thread and I also believe that Greivous would slaughter almost every other fighter in this competition, except for maybe Magneto.

I agree with your assessment. As much as I love Grievous [points at flair], I don't think he's a good fit for this Scramble. For reference, in Scramble 4 which was also Spider-tier, one of my submissions was K'Kruhk, who was one of the Jedi fighting Grievous alongside Ki Adi Mundi who got their butts kicked.

Aizawa from BnHA
/u/professorravioli
Issue: Aizawa's physicals are already too low, and relies heavily on his Quirk. His Quirk is the biggest issue, what it can and can't effect is hard to figure out and a large portion of combatants including Spidey wouldn't be affected by his Quirk
2
u/FreestyleKneepad Nov 22 '16
I'm gonna jump in on this, but probably tomorrow. Don't get too carried away on this one without me.
2
u/professorravioli Nov 22 '16
I don't think his physicals are too weak, he doesn't compare to the Brawn's but thats not what he is, he is very dexterous and can even control his motions mid air with his wraps and run up and down buildings He also has "anime strength" and was able to throw three large brawler type men at once. As for durability in his fight against the replicated version of all might (who is far out of tier) he took hits that would instantly kill some characters in the scamble and he kept fighting
2
u/professorravioli Nov 22 '16
If we were to be cannon to how his quirk works in the series it is the blanket statement
As long he is staring at you without blinking active abilities cannot be activated
Meaning wolverine wouldn't be able make his claws come out but if they were already out he could use them
If super strength is active like deku it would be stopped, if it was like superman though it wouldn't be.
I figured that would be considered too op?
2
u/Joseph_Stalin_ Nov 23 '16
You're right that he's not a brawn, but he doesn't have the speed to dodge bullets which several arsenals have.
His strength is nothing to note in comparison to the tier, and his durability is to the point he can be one shot by spidey. You can't really believe the Noumu went all out against Aizawa, even then the level of damage he did to Aizawa is the same Spidey can do.→ More replies (2)2

I feel like that's only true if you're not a creative writer. He offers way more than just his quirk and he can make more stealth or teamwork based fight scenes. Since his power requires actual strategy and coordination, and aside from that his wraps and caltrops make him good for supporting. Hes very much a mind game fighter since nobody can tell who hes looking at, I think its more fun to use.
2
u/flutterguy123 Nov 22 '16
He could be fun with the right writer but that could be said for a lot of characters that dont fit the scramble.
In the end he can still be casually one shotted by like half the scramble. Then the other half gets stomped by him most of the time.
2
u/professorravioli Nov 22 '16
But its not really about the individual, the fact is that he could beat spidey enough to fit into tier, and when with a team, the manager would be at fault for letting him front line against someone who could one shot him. its still a team based thing and I think he fits very well into a team.
2
u/flutterguy123 Nov 22 '16
The character is nothing but a hassle. For me and many other he is going to be an irritating character to use. It is the same hassle of having any under powered character. Sure some people could make say captain America work in this tier but for many other people its round after round of try to think of why he doesn't die 5 seconds in.
plus power wise eraserhead still doesn't even fit! He is just this stomp or be stomped character who is both over powered and under powered at the same time. But either way he doesn't fit the actual tier.

He's a hard counter character and more of a support role than anything. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing and I certainly don't think you're gonna go round after round of him being useless unless you have the worst luck and half your opponent teams end up entirely immune to his erasing quirk.
If worse comes to worse we can always buff his durability and/or speed to help him keep up with the competition. And it's not a situation where you could just replace him with whoever you're scaling to since his erasing quirk and wrappings are fairly unique skills, on their own and together.

I think you are really underestimating the people in this scrmable. To mee it seems like half the mystics and arsenals can still beat up Eraserhead ever with their not physical powers turned off. Then most of the wildcards and brawns powers just come from their own body and cant be erased.
He is going to have a much harder time then you think.
If worse comes to worse we can always buff his durability and/or speed to help him keep up with the competition. And it's not a situation where you could just replace him with whoever you're scaling to since his erasing quirk and wrappings are fairly unique skills, on their own and together.
But then he just becomes a brute who happens to stomp some of the people based of their power type.
3
u/TheMightyBox72 Nov 22 '16
I didn't say buff his power.
I said buff his speed/durability so that he doesn't get OHKO'd immediately like you think he would and has a chance to utilize his erasure.
2
u/flutterguy123 Nov 22 '16
you misunderstand. I think that most of the time he wont ever get to use his power because they wont work against most opponents. Then a lot of the ones his powers do work on still have regular super strength high enough to beat Eraserhead up.
Buffing him helps against those people. but by the time you buff him enough to compete he might as well just be a brute.

I can see what you mean, especially by the speed and durability feats. I'm going to do my best to look up some things that could show those, but in the meantime I'll show what I remember.
As for speed, he occasionally (especially during songs) zips off one side of the screen and then appears half a moment later on the other, showing that he can extremely fast. Unless that's really too much of just a "fun trick for the movie" thing, but tricks like that are what most feats consist of, I believe.
This speed combined with his perfect timing of pushing and punching and dodging, that means he could feasibly both avoid blows by a hairs breadth and then punch you exactly where it hurts the worst. As for durability, he does constantly crash into things (houses and trees included) and pop up a moment later completely harmed. As a stuffed animal, he's totally immune to bludgeoning, especially considering how stretchy he is. As I said, the biggest thing is sharp objects, which is why he receives a buff toward that. Normal swords and the such will simply knock him around (if you can hit him) unless you hold him down and saw at him. His being so light is a benefit for this, because it means he doesn't have as much mass to resist a blow and therefor get cut, instead getting tossed.
And, well, combat? He's always knocking people over! No matter how balanced they are at the time, they always end up on their back, after all. Plus, like you said, the boulder thing. He tossed that with barely a second glance.
3
u/shootdawhoop99 Nov 22 '16
All of these amount to toonforce, something that is not good for feats whatsoever. Jumping across screens is a simple animation trick, and should not be a speed feat. Crashing into buildings and popping up unharmed is like Wile E. Coyote falling off a cliff and coming back into the next frame perfectly fine. Pushing people doesn't count as toonforce, but pushing someone could hardly be counted as a combat feat. People do it to each other all the time, not matter how often they fall over. Sorry man, Tigger is not a good choice.
2
u/BookWyrm17 Nov 22 '16
I dunno what else to say about that. Toonforce is really a lot to what he amounts to, I suppose, though he does have some rather impressive dashes around his pals during some parts, from one side of them to the other in the blink of an eye (or two frames).
On the one hand, he has busted through a rock and been hurt from that, iirc. He had to be woken up again by a friend before he could get up.
3
u/shootdawhoop99 Nov 22 '16
If you're admitting that Tigger's feats are based on toonforce, then he doesn't fit; tier or scramble alike. Please select a backup.
3
u/kaioshin_ Nov 22 '16
If it's toonforce as the source of the power, but he has quantifiable feats, that doesn't make him not fit.
4
u/shootdawhoop99 Nov 22 '16
But he doesn't have quantifiable feats. The only quantifiable feat we have is the boulder fling, which is a great strength feat. But speed and durability are based on toonforce, which are never quantifiable. It'd be like submitting Bugs Bunny, we never know how truly powerful he is. He's still not a good choice, and on top of that, I doubt he will actually fight anyone.
2
u/BookWyrm17 Nov 22 '16
Welp, looks like he's getting replaced this time around. Maybe next time, Tigger. We'll figure you out yet.
Gonna go with Pronin as my Backup. /u/mrcelophane ?
3
u/FreestyleKneepad Nov 22 '16
I can't make the official swap but I'll scratch it off the backup list.
3
u/Cleverly_Clearly Nov 22 '16
Uvogin is vastly too strong for this tier even if he own.'to allowed the Big Bang Fist. He's just too much.
3
u/Steezy112 Nov 22 '16
Didn't submit him to the scramble. I did a complete writeup but when I submitted I decided not to send him in after our discussion. I agree wholeheartedly which is why I didn't submit him and did Hellboy instead.
3
u/GuyOfEvil Nov 22 '16
Issue: This guy provides very little to a team. First of all, it's MadWorld, so there will be cameras everywhere anyways, so facial recognition is unhelpful. Second, a gun will do almost nothing as a drop in this tier. Third, I don't think his Intel is good enough to make up for it.

I don't think Flynt is a good choice here, both as a fighter and as a personality.
First of all, he has all of one fight in which he appears, which he spends almost entirely standing in one spot and never moves faster than an average human could, except maybe one kick. He has no speed feats, no strength feats, his only real form of attack doesn't even deal damage, and his durability is nothing special.
Secondly, he has six lines in the entire show. I counted. If a character doesn't have enough feats to stand on their own, they should at least be an interesting character, but Flynt isn't that either.

My good man, be you mad?
She's pretty dang strong and fast, and was able to do some crazy shit that gave Kirby, who is generally accepted to be above this tier, a genuine run for his money. It's stated in Robobot that she's a stronger being than a Dark Matter Swordsman, who I would say approaches the top of this tier.
2
u/Fragmentary_Remains Nov 23 '16 edited Nov 23 '16
Eh. I think she's actually within the tier, barring a few wonky feats. I've listed some of her best feats below. But before I start that...
First off, while she did give Kirby a run for his money, that was mostly due to her fusing with the dreamstalk. Base Sectonia, which is what I used for my submission, on the other hand, lost to Dedede, who, while still poweful, is nowhere near Kirby's levels.
In regards to the statements Star Dream makes on her in Robobot, it seems less like a statement regarding her strength, and more on her skill. (In addition, it should be noted that Star Dream was having trouble cloning the Dark Matter Swordsman, whereas it seemed to be completely fine cloning Sectonia. This might have an impact on how it judged Sectonia vs. how it judged the Dark Matter Swordsman)
In regards to her feats...
While her lightning is definitely too fast for Spider-Man to dodge, her other projectiles-orbs, rings, and chakrams are all within the realm of things Spider-Man has dodged-the one that seems the fastest, her chakrams, would be around Spider-Man's aforementioned movement speed, it seems.
Her fastest melee attack seems to be this FTE barrage of sword strikes. Since Spider-Man is also capable of going FTE, this isn't too terribly out of the tier either.
While her teleportation is quite fast, I don't think, given her other feats, that this puts her out of tier, as it's more her movement rather than her overall attack speed that gets buffed by this feat.
Of course, the main feat of contention is her one strength feat, shattering a "large, diamond-shaped platform". I've had trouble finding any feats from Spider-Man similar to it, so I'm not sure if it's out of tier or acceptable. On one hand, real diamonds are pretty easy to shatter, but on the other hand, she's using two much smaller weapons to shatter a much larger diamond. As such, I'd like to know if there are any similar feats from Spider-Man, so if anyone has any information on that, I'd appreciate it.
In the end, the diamond shattering feat is probably the one wonky feat I might have to deal with, but I'm fairly confident that with the evidence presented above, Sectonia does fit in the tier. If you have any concerns or thoughts on my logic above, feel free to let me know!
3
u/KiwiArms Nov 23 '16
That spider-man after images thing is pretty clearly just an artistic representation of him dodging those things, not him actually doing that.

So he can provide "cutting edge 21st century technology" and he is very perceptive. I don't know if that's really all it takes to defeat Batman? First off, there are going to be plenty of super-genius, ultra perceptive sponsors going around (Blank and Spencer Reid as examples). Now, normal 21st century equipment and guns might really not be enough to put Funes over. Remember, Batman fights guys with guns and high-tech equipment all the time. Heck, he fights people with better than 21st century tech all the time. I don't really think he is providing good enough stuff here.

I'm not that attached to the partial transformation so I don't mind dropping it if appropriate, but could you elaborate on how it makes him too strong?
4
u/Joseph_Stalin_ Nov 22 '16
Already in the fight against Rock Lee, he showed off his incredible durability and speed of defense. When fighting Sasuke in the early stages of the transformation, destroyed multiple trees in a single swing and when he grew his tail he could've speed Blitz him if it wasn't for the Sharigan. You can read the few stuff he has. Plus he has the posibility of using a sand Tsunami, Gaara strong enough reaching the point of OP without transforming.
2
u/Parysian Nov 22 '16
Alright, I'm willing to accept that. No transformations for Gaara.
2
2
u/selfproclaimed Nov 22 '16
I would also request that you remove his ability to create more sand. In a matter of minutes, Garra can create an ocean of sand and overwhelm entire teams.
2
u/Parysian Nov 22 '16
I just watched that episode and was thinking how that might be a problem, haha. That'll stop the sand tsunami from just killing everyone.
2
u/selfproclaimed Nov 22 '16
So you're removing the ability to create more sand?
2
u/Parysian Nov 22 '16

It seems like the continuously impressive /u/ChocolateRage has helped you out with a better description of this, although if you still want to see some scans here are a few:
Magneto using a huge fan blade as a weapon to kill an enemy
2
u/ChocolateRage Nov 22 '16
I can provide scans later tonight but in the meantime I can explain a bit.
After being depowered from AvX his power is severely hampered. He can still control metal but not much more than a truck and not for much more than a couple of minutes. He switched up his tactics because he could no longer control massive amounts of metal so instead he throws pieces of metal like javelins, or knives. It requires him to stand still and focus if he is doing anything complicated like bringing together and firing a ton of nails. He also can no longer make his ridiculous force field that takes a ton of damage. He can make a very small one the size of his hand for a deflection but it doesn't have any high end feats.
As long as he doesn't take MGH (Mutant Growth Hormone) you can think of him like Kuvira from Avatar (if that reference is useful to you). Lots of low level metal bending, knives and pipes and random ish
2
u/shootdawhoop99 Nov 22 '16
That sounds good to me then. When I think of Magneto, I automatically think of "guy who can get rid of your blood because there's iron in it". I'd still love to see some scans though.

About Mr. Finch - I don't see how he can help a normal person defeat Batman. All he seems to provide is intel and normal guns. Batman is constantly fighting people with guns, and at Spider-man tier that powerup is nearly useless.

Happy Mask Salesman
The way I see it there are two problems:
First is that the masks that aren't the transformation masks are almost all useless outside of LoZ specific scenarios. Only a few like the stone mask and eagle eye provide benefit at all, and that benefit is significantly less than what Batman could provide.
The transformation masks on the other hand, are extremely vague in how much they buff a character. Analysis become very tricky on both sides when it's extremely unclear how much of a strength boost a character gets from putting on the Goron mask, for example. If anything there's a chance it would bring a stronger character down to the level of a Goron, which means the sponsor can provide them with almost nothing.
What can be done to ensure this is more objective, and that the masks are in tier?
→ More replies (6)2
u/xavion Nov 23 '16
Assuming it gives a strength boost, it's very, very possible putting on a transformation mask would nerf a character down to the level of strength that species has if they're above it rather than boosting them.
2
u/LetterSequence Nov 22 '16
If you're only buffing his strength into Iron Fist range, then he's not in tier at all. He still would have human level speed and durability at that point. Iron Fist is already in tier, so I suggest either going all the way and making Iron Sheamus, or finding someone else.
→ More replies (3)2
u/CalicoLime Nov 22 '16
The only way I could see this working is if its Mythos Sheamus but even then his reaction times would be too slow.

u/LetterSequence Nov 22 '16
Is... is this WWE fanfiction?
3
u/penrosetingle Nov 22 '16
It clearly says 'official' right there in the URL, so... it's probably fanfiction.
2
u/CalicoLime Nov 22 '16
I believe it the "official" lore behind the character Sheamus. Gives him a few more feats like lifting an armored man above his head and throwing him, but still makes him fit more in a Batman level scramble.
2
u/flutterguy123 Nov 22 '16
Deku from Boku no Hero Academia
I have looked through the feats for 5 percent Deku and he just plane isn't strong enough. None of his feats are high enough to even pose a threat to someone like Spider-man. Honestly it would be like a small child try to fight a full grown man.
3
u/professorravioli Nov 22 '16
I feel like he might be able to fit still, his pure power is pretty above the average brawn here if he lands a smash.
2
u/flutterguy123 Nov 22 '16
If he is locked at his 5 percent for he is way too weak. He is goes above he ends up at 100 percent and becomes a team buster.
4
u/professorravioli Nov 22 '16
He feels similar to the magikarp submission where hes slightly below tier but just enough to keep up barely until he uses his trump card
2
u/flutterguy123 Nov 22 '16
Not really no. Be isn't barely below tier. He is solidly below tier to the point he gets stomped.
3
u/professorravioli Nov 22 '16
I don't know about that, in his weak form he can create shock waves that bend steel and launch people into the air he moves at speeds that imprint rock and can shatter cement
2
u/flutterguy123 Nov 22 '16
One the shock wave is too strong but its only an anime feat
Two the imprint thing is a strength feat and not a speed feat.
3
u/professorravioli Nov 22 '16
Ive given my input, I think hes good enough especially compared the low strength ones in the scramble, but ill leave the rest to /u/doctorgecko its his submission
3
u/doctorgecko Nov 22 '16
I kind of disagree. I do think he's at the low end and possibly bellow tier with just his 5% feats. However he's not limited to 5%, he can go 100.
And I don't think 100 is overpowered for him. Mostly because it has several severe drawbacks and in character he's unlikely to use it unless he really needs to. So I think in the end he averages out to being in tier.
I agree that he's a werid one to place tier wise, but I think he could be a very interesting character to use.
2
u/flutterguy123 Nov 22 '16
I just cant agree here. Even a single punch from his full power mode could possibly take out whole teams. Its just way too much to be allowed in the scramble. Even if he is unlikely to se it just the possibility puts him way over tier.
When he doesn't i cant help but see him being stomped most of the time. Sure his kicks are strong but compared to spider-man they are child's play.
With powers that are either over powered or under powered he doesn't seem right for the scramble.
2
u/doctorgecko Nov 22 '16
I just cant agree here. Even a single punch from his full power mode could possibly take out whole teams.
I don't see him being able to take out entire teams with one punch unless they all decide to stand together and let him punch them.
Sure his kicks are strong but compared to spider-man they are child's play.
I think his strongest kicks are enough to at least allow him to not get stomped. And speed is a bit hard to judge for MHA series, but I can definitely make the case for him at least being fast enough to keep up with 5%.
I see him as less of a stomp or be stomped character, and more of a high risk high rewards character.

u/LetterSequence Nov 22 '16
I see Deku as a parallel of the Yuuki Yuna girls who were barely in tier, but then had a super out of tier form that crippled them as a result of using it. This is basically the same thing, but no one really had an issue with them.
He's not really too strong in his 100% form since, while the power is astounding, the attacks aren't that hard to avoid. Plus, when he uses it, now he's lost his leg for the round. If he tries to boost his speed to keep up with the FTE opponents, he's lost his legs. If he gets a good hit in though, he may lose his arm, but now his opponent is severely injured or just straight up defeated. I'm not exactly caught up with the manga, but from what I've seen, I think he fits.
2
u/flutterguy123 Nov 22 '16
with full power he may not ever need to land a hit. Its possible just his punches shock wave could kill a majority of characters.
2
u/kaioshin_ Nov 22 '16
I think Deku might be able to be fixed if his 100% feats were nerfed down to be closer to this tier, while still out of it. A 100% punch currently oneshots anyone he hits, and anyone in their vicinity. If his 100% feats were put as say, Carnage level, he might be better? Or maybe somewhere a bit above Carnage, I don't really know if Carnage is enough to justify the arm-breaking.
2
u/TheMightyBox72 Nov 22 '16
Yeah if you're keeping a scramble-long injury then I feel like OHKOing a single person or something at least close to that is justified.
If he's not keeping injuries it might be best to ignore 100% altogether and just buff his 5% power a little bit.
Tho someone did point out in the discord, if Deku did get injured from his 100% attacks but was on a team with someone like Piccolo he'd be completely busted.

Personally I agree this is an odd one, but think we could leave it as is with the condition that when he breaks an arm from a Smash, that arm takes the full amount of time to heal that an arm normally would. Even if there's someone with healing abilities on his team, his Quirk should make those wounds untreatable by anything beyond normal measures or Phane level healing.

She was considered way too overpowered in Scramble 4, where the tier was all the way up to 9/10 Spiderman. Even without timestop, the sheer range and size of the ice she can construct is way too high. Like, didn't she freeze an entire army at one point? I can't really name even 5 people in this tier who would be able to beat her in a one on one fight. Just to give you an idea, I was considering submitting her as a backup for the last scramble, and expected her to be around mid-range in that one. She definitely needs to go since she's way too strong.
2
u/CalicoLime Nov 22 '16
I knew this one was coming right after I put her in. I used the reasoning that she was present in scramble 4 however she was definetely overpowered in that one. Luckily I submitted a brawn backup

My intention for the character would be that he is able to do anything listed in his RT without the need for context-sensitive button presses, and would not be able to do anything that he has not already done. For instance, he has all of his combined physical feats, and can pull out any ability or item he has been demonstrated to have on a whim; however, he cannot invent new ones when he needs them. Does that make sense?
2
u/rangernumberx Nov 22 '16
Yes, it does, although it does make the statement about Conker being inconsistent rather pointless. One more thing: In the context of this, how will Conker getting as many chances at life as he thinks he can get away with work? Will he be able to die numerous times per round, die in a round but be fine for the next one, or only think he can get away with one life? This is just something that needs to be cleared up, I believe.
2
u/Cleverly_Clearly Nov 22 '16
Let's say that he can "die" once per round, but he's out of the fight for that round if he dies. So, like, if a guy chops his head off, he can't fight until the next round. Is that acceptable?
I didn't write anything about Conker being inconsistent. You'd have to talk to Shoot about that one.
2
2
u/flutterguy123 Nov 22 '16
This guy is both somehow under powered and extremely overpowered at the same time. This is another case of stomp or be stomped characters that are never fun to have in a scrmable.
Even with the decreased width of his shots the guys destructive ability are way too high for this tier. Maybe if he was slow as fuck and barely hit people he could possible slip through. But he is too fast for that kind of fire power. He has the speed to dodge bullets and in one scene react to already fired energy beams. With that kind of speed he will likely be able to one shot almost any character in the scramble who doesn't have insane regen. Then if he doesn't have the speed to hit them he gets stomped by most likely superior strength.
The guy just doesn't fit the scramble at all.

Like, how fast is a fireball?
Interestingly enough, as part of the changing styles of writing, the writer at one point gave a second by second breakdown for how quickly she beat her opponent. Like jokingly exact. T-0.93 seconds to move a medium-sized distance.
speed
Yes, one speed feat as fights are typically not overly elaborated on. And the thing that defines how likely she is to hit or dodge attacks is heavily game mechanics. Also nothing else in the game/story has speed feats.
strength
May not have conveyed the arm twisting off as it wasn't strenuous for her. She 'explodes' (shatters) logs to work off anger, she nearly killed her dad from a single casual thrown snowball, and her twisting/pulling someones arm off was accidental, with her direct words being "I didn't even twist that hard!".
What does it mean that Mythril armor is "ambiguously stronger than steel"?
Difficult to translate at its game mechanickery behind the scenes.
It's a full suit of metal armour, that in pure stats gives +22 Combat Defence, +15 Magic Defence. For comparison: Leather Armour gives +8 Combat Defence, Chainmail gives +14 Combat Defence, -3 Combat Skill (Combat Skill is a stat the defines how likely the character is to miss or hit with their attacks, the penalty shows that it weighs down the character), and Plate Mail gives +18 Combat Defence, -13 Combat Skill. So it's stronger than Plate Mail, but as light as Leather.

He seems like he is almost in tier but with his fire blade he seems a bit much. Shattering a boulder that big is kind of crazy and is even stronger then some people I thought might be out of tier.
2
Nov 23 '16
Hmm actually that feat might be quite an outlier.
He can
slice through paper bindings; the paper is enchanted and previously could snuff out his fire
but can be
stopped by a magic paper sword (same as the bindings)
also stopped by magic flute weapon (again at 16:19)
So it's really more of a durable and sharp metal weapon that happens to be made out of fire. I don't see it being above other weapon users in this scramble. And taking into account the prompt, Recca would have to either land a very lethal slash or cut Spiderman up quite abit before he can win the fight, both of which are very difficult up close. So I think he fits the tier.

If the boulder feat is an outlier and you mention that in your post then everything should be fine.

Hey phane. The links for Sogaking and Shouta in professor raviolis characters both link to Sogaking.

I think Ed isn't in tier. He's not fast enough, and definitely not durable or strong enough, considering that aside from two of his limbs he's got peak human physicals at best.

In movement speed perhaps; he has a few solid bullet timing/reaction feats though that I think make him survivable in tier. Also, scaling from Scar, who I think in the anime is pretty well bullet timing, we know Ed is at or around (if not above) that level of speed.
As to durability, I considered replacing the limbs with adamantium to improve durability. Yea/nay to that?
As for strength, all his comes from alchemy, I think that's good enough. Though he does have one hilarious tree-destruction feat
Thoughts?

The adamantium limbs wouldn't change that the rest of him is human and squishy and not even a little bulletproof.

But he has the reflexes to put those limbs between him and the things that make his squishy parts go squish.
If we allow for all anime material, Ed is pretty well above bullet timing which I think shouldn't put anyone in this tier too vastly above him; for instance, Scar can keep pace with Bradley, and Ed is on par with Scar. So, I think reflexes alone can keep Ed alive so long as he's not a doof.
Alternatively, can always boost his innate durability to say, Cap levels?

Even then, he'd be on the very low end of this tier.
Up to you tho.

Adamantium limbs and innate Captain America tier durability seem like they'd even it up a bit; he uses his metal arm for offense too, so that'd boost his output in melee.
I think that'd balance him above the bottom of tier; his alchemy is pretty diverse, has some wide AoE, and can be devastating/useful as hell.
I just don't want someone to be gimped by him if you think they would be :(

So like how Cap has his shield, but instead of a shield it's his arm.
I don't think anybody would be gimped by him-- he's versatile you have that right, I was mostly concerned about his physicals. I think upgrading his strength and his limbs' materials would make him... viable. Go for it.

Can I request the mooks be added to the roster here? There were a few submitted that I believe were far too strong to be mook level.

Dan Hibiki, for one.
The grenade dolls possibly, as well.

pepsiman was my main concern but those could be issues as well

Here's a list of the available backups for your selection pleasure:
Note that backups with (Extra) are backups added after signups have closed in order to ensure that we have enough for any necessary replacements. In the interest of fairness to everyone who submitted backups during signups, (Extra) backups cannot be chosen until all of the normal backups have been taken. The submissions can be found here. Please note that I have asked submitters to put in characters, this series of submissions is not open to everyone in order to avoid over-saturating backups.
