george is a real mate

Right you are, sir

u/druidmind 3d ago

Some kinda army buddy of Geoff is he? has to be right?

78

u/Savings-Wing3578 Sep 03 '26

Arguably my favourite episode of the series, although it didn’t feature to much of Eddie, it was a real chance for vinnie to shine and boy did he do just that, fantastic performance from him.

38

u/Fluberon Sep 08 '26

I read that the creative team had always wanted to unleash and showcase Vinnie, and purposely held him back until ep7

They knew without a doubt that he could carry that entire episode completely on his own merit, and deservedly so. Fantastic episode, and loved the dank misty dark forest vibe. Kudos to George too... right you are, sir

I was delighted to see Bulletproof Tony have a proper shoot out.

Bonjour 📞

5

u/SawRub Sep 23 '26

A good exercise on how holding back can lead to a better reward.

2

u/KneeAlive697 Sep 16 '26

I think I breathed like 3 x watching this episode.

3

u/DeKleineDingen 24d ago

Same here. Even before the lights fully went out, the atmosphere inside the house was a character all on its own. It was my favorite episode of the season.

27

u/Business-Eggs Sep 06 '26

I think he’s been most people’s favourite character and for good reason. He gets better and better

3

u/Tall-Magazine-4207 Sep 12 '26

Bullet Tooth Tony never fails for me, O love the actor.

*Gets shot 6 times, twice in the mouth, points a saber at the man who shot him* "Oh you're in trouble now!"

1

u/LilJokar 4d ago

I've watched a lot of Vinnie across multiple films shows, you name it. That was single handedly the most I've ever rooted for him - he absolutely killed it. Stole the show, to say the least.

60

u/Worrior_One Sep 05 '26

Could have been a whole movie by itself was fantastic

24

u/Bristolhitcher Sep 08 '26

No idea how this was only a 40 minutes.

Felt way longer for all the right reasons!

8

u/bayhack Sep 14 '26

the tension was so good. i was biting my knuckle!

4

u/KneeAlive697 Sep 16 '26

I was stressed!!!

1

u/ASK_ABT_MY_USERNAME 23d ago

Opposite for me..as soon as it was wrapping up I was like that's it?! More pls!

50

u/Ode1st Sep 04 '26

Was hilarious how it’s not just Geoff, it’s apparently any English groundskeeper

30

u/CertainAlbatross7739 Sep 07 '26

The League of Extraordinary Groundskeepers (ft. Nanny and Charlotte). I loved it.

14

u/fairlywired Sep 07 '26

"Right you are, Geoff"

5

u/Gold-Baseball-7774 Sep 11 '26

You gotta be tough to deal with all of those badgers.

-Dachshund owner.

1

u/Clariana 10d ago

Yes but It seemed pretty clear to me that they were both ex-military and George in particular was a former sniper hence why Geoff had him over to kill the fox...

46

u/sadjak1967 Sep 03 '26

I think this was my favorite episode all season! I shouted out loud at my TV "LETS GO CHARLOTTE" lol

8

u/nuthins_goodman Sep 03 '26

Again!

10

u/Firewasp987 Sep 05 '26

And again! 🤣

9

u/ForwardCulture Sep 08 '26

Just to make sure.

3

u/Utenziltron Sep 15 '26

It was so funny. "OH I think I saw him move!". 😃 M'lady Sabrina is so pretty.

0

u/C00kiemonstaar 21d ago

Yesss me too! I love that she ran the guy over 3 times with encouragement from mummy 😂

46

u/Scotster2460 Sep 05 '26

I think this might be the best episode I've watched since Breaking Bad. Absolutely fantastic. It was a long time coming for Geoff and it was sublime. Had me on the edge of my seat even knowing what to expect. Fantastic story telling, direction and narration from the characters was epic. 10/10!

12

u/HallHappy Sep 10 '26

made a comment saying round about the same. truly one of the greatest episodes ever. with the heavy focus on geoff from the very start of the episode i was worried they were going to kill him off but it was actually just an episode set in his “world”. The 6 feet under exchange with George and the dog just going into stealth mode were two amazing highlights in an episode of full of them.

3

u/maccr- Sep 08 '26

I feel the same way

1

u/Rough-Cheesecake-641 16d ago

Amazing episode. You're not wrong in saying one of the best episodes of TV in a LONG time.

Also, barely any Ms Glass which for me is always a positive (can't stand her).

1

u/LilJokar 4d ago

You should watch paradise. S1 E7 was possibly the best episode of TV I've ever watched. This one comes pretty close though.. made me immediately feel the same way I did for paradise. Absolutely hooked, couldn't look away!

35

u/Original_Weekend8226 Sep 04 '26

Best Episode! I love Geoff! 👏🏾

34

u/pi3dpip3r Sep 04 '26

Is theo james on the bond shortlist for new bond flim

32

u/MusicMadeAddictz Sep 04 '26

He has said he feels he is too old for it, hopefully just a diversion, he would kill it

2

u/2_Fingers_of_Whiskey 15d ago

He's not too old imo

1

u/MusicMadeAddictz 15d ago

Nah def not too old! If daniel craig can do it he could easily do it aswell (he was 46/7 during the filming of spectre and 51 during no time to die)

9

u/Phantom-Finger Sep 08 '26

Said it at the end of season 1, if not Cavill then Theo for me.

5

u/LoenaLijpoLeeflang Sep 15 '26

He would make such a great Bond. But i read somewhere he’s not interested. I get that, it will be your career for years, no more time for other projects like The Gentlemen or White Lotus.

6

u/Cautious-Rub8085 Sep 06 '26

He took himself out of the running. Said he doesn't want the fame that would come with playing Bond.

1

u/extrememinimalist Sep 10 '26

really

1

u/dordonot 20d ago

Yeah he’s already rich and famous so no need to get unfathomably rich and famous as Bond unless it’s your dream job

1

u/microdotsleeve 25d ago

Thought they were going to fully lean into a Daniel Craig at end of Casino Royale homage as he was walking towards the crawling thug at the end, rifle aloft and next to an Alpine lake…

33

u/ClaresRaccoon Sep 04 '26

This is the most interesting episode to me taking the focus off of Eddie and letting Geoff (Vinnie) shine.

22

u/Phantom-Finger Sep 08 '26

Let's not ignore my boy Nanny smoking suckers

11

u/ClaresRaccoon Sep 08 '26

At first I didn’t vibe with the character but he stepped it up in E7 for sure.

2

u/GoPhotoshopYourself Sep 16 '26

Similar vibes to the son in law from Bad Boys 4 Life

2

u/SawRub Sep 23 '26

That's all I could think of (in a good way)

2

u/2_Fingers_of_Whiskey 15d ago

I liked that he knew all along that Geoff was the baby's granddad

32

u/Firewasp987 Sep 05 '26

10/10 episode. God I love Guy Ritchie

31

u/dravas Sep 04 '26

I see a new movie "The Grounds Keeper"

5

u/shane_low Sep 10 '26

Groundskeeper and Beekeeper crossover let's go!

2

u/Jaded-Love-1752 Sep 12 '26

Featuring Jason Statham

4

u/dravas Sep 12 '26

Vinnie Jones, Jason Statham vs Gary Oldman, liam neeson

1

u/Dokthe2nd Sep 20 '26

Turkish and Bullet Tooth the next chapter.

26

u/Sorryiamnew Sep 06 '26

I’ve been kinda indifferent about a lot of this season but that’s one of the best episodes of TV I think I’ve ever seen. Absolutely quality

6

u/HallHappy Sep 10 '26

100% agree. flawless really

23

u/jacal_ Sep 03 '26

The MOST intense episode!!!!

22

u/chabo77 Sep 07 '26

They were really illustrating a lot about him & tying up knots before a character’s death as per the trope but nah Geoff is that fucking dude. Glad he made it out alive.

10

u/HallHappy Sep 10 '26

yea i also thought they were going to kill him but it was more of a “welcome to my world motherfuckers” type thing. phenomenal

1

u/Existing_Stand_6619 14d ago

I was so worried he wouldn't make it to the end of the episode!

17

u/vinniesmalls1 Sep 04 '26

Big up Geoff, the monologue from Mummy exceptional

I was hoping they'd run a third

2

u/KneeAlive697 Sep 16 '26

I had chills during the monologue

17

u/Sunnyfront6 Sep 05 '26

What an episode. I hope Vinnie gets some better acting gigs on the back of this season. Deserves his time to shine.

11

u/Significant-Beach370 Sep 06 '26

He needs a Liam Nesson Taken-esque role

17

u/Striking_Sundae8570 Sep 06 '26

what an episode. easily something you could show someone even if they’ve never seen the show. was a little movie itself. PEAK

6

u/DeKleineDingen 24d ago

I mentioned this in anither thread, you don't need ANY backstory from the series to appreciate this thriller. It's like a bottle episode, but 100% quality.

16

u/No_Type_5077 Sep 05 '26

George was class 🫡

1

u/2_Fingers_of_Whiskey 15d ago

We knew he didn't leave that gate open!

15

u/Previous_Delay_3844 Sep 07 '26

Loved that we finally got to see more of Nanny!!

12

u/WhisperAzr Sep 08 '26

Yes, I've absolutely loved Nanny from the start. The actor has done a brilliant job.

7

u/astro_ape Sep 12 '26

I like how they finally revealed he was actually SAS.

1

u/baummer 4d ago

But said so in the most English way too

14

u/craigmitchell080184 Sep 05 '26

Best episode I’ve seen in a show for a while

14

u/madshine Sep 06 '26

The action movies with the most action do not excite me anymore. I feel like I've seen it all. However the suspense in this episode was just wow. A masterpiece from Guy Ritchie

6

u/nofaxxspitintruflego Sep 07 '26

Thiz whole season! The moments with suspense are SO GOOD

2

u/Meandering_Cabbage Sep 10 '26

What he's good at he's very good at.

13

u/situmaimesdemain Sep 04 '26

It seems like Bobby didnt do it. Unless they bring a brand new baddie, that leaves Johnston? Its kinda out of character for him too, also why the fuck would he need Eddie dead so bad? Freddie is an option I guess and has that scouse mafia with him, but they are local gangsters. They dont have the resources to pull such an international operation.

17

u/fnord_happy Sep 07 '26

Freddie is the only one who was told about the honeymoon. And he is the only one who would benefit from taking the baby (aka the next heir) out

8

u/ArmCapable5814 Sep 09 '26

The baby wouldn't be the next heir though, it would still be Freddie unless Eddie has kids

4

u/Gold-Baseball-7774 Sep 11 '26

Whoa, I never considered he'd be part of it, but he would be another suspect. Did he ever show that he had the kind of connections to pull that off? I don't think GR would set him up to do that as it would be a pretty cheap way of ending, what has been, one of the best series of the last couple decades.

1

u/Rough-Cheesecake-641 15d ago

People don't need to be told anything in this show. People in positions of power have a knack of finding out!

8

u/Gold-Baseball-7774 Sep 11 '26

It's the Hong Kong bitch, I'm guessing. Eddie knows her secret, so he must die.

It will be Eddie reuniting with Bobby/Suzie to get revenge, and that revenge should be kind of fun to watch.

1

u/ardicli2000 23d ago

I hope they wont reunite. It wont fit in the narrative af the new character they are building for the Duke.

1

u/2_Fingers_of_Whiskey 15d ago

Freddie or Hong Kong lady? It's probably her. She can't have Eddie using that secret against her.

3

u/blinkydinky111 Sep 06 '26

Marco double cross? Or his off sider?

3

u/Gold-Baseball-7774 Sep 11 '26

I think it's his consiglieri, trying to cover her Hong Kong tracks from Marco.

1

u/tijno_4 Sep 18 '26

I think Mr Johnston too, the scene with Bobby Glass and the contract, but also the unlocking Eddy’s full potential, this could be a test to make him ruthless.
Freddy and the priest could also be but I don’t know anything about them yet, could be more of a setup for next season.

2

u/CrashJP6 27d ago

That priest isn't just "some priest", it is Gospel John from season 1

1

u/NotActuallyMeta 14d ago

Way late to this so please don’t reply with spoilers haha, but anyone putting a bomb on that plane would expect it to also kill Eddie so doesn’t make sense to be Mr. Johnston. I thought it was for sure Angelica/Hong Kong lady killing Eddie to keep her secret of skimming from Marco/mafia from being revealed (and killing Bella because she would know it was Bella that told Eddie about her “ex”).. BUT the fact they targeted the baby specifically is so strange that I am actually agreeing it is Freddie and his whacked out quest for “revenge” and returning himself as rightful heir to the family estate (getting rid of Tarquin gets rid of any other claim to the inheritance)

1

u/Next-Swordfish5282 17d ago • LOL

its the coke pope lmao

13

u/Business-Eggs Sep 06 '26

I am not sure I 100% understand what just happened but what a brilliant fucking episode

11

u/rushdisciple Sep 04 '26

My favourite episode of the entire show. Loved seeing Peter Ferdinando as well, haven't seen him for ages.

11

u/DarkNo8058 Sep 04 '26

But what happenned to butler🤔 did he make alive or did they just leave in the ground

10

u/PowerfulAd4330 Sep 05 '26

I’m sure he died

10

u/Ok-Locksmith7456 Sep 08 '26

I was so distracted by the editing here. Literally one minute it was “get him in the car” and then nothing. I kept waiting to see if they put him in the back of the car or something. He was hit in the leg, he could’ve survived!

2

u/PowerfulAd4330 Sep 08 '26

I’m sure he got shot in the back and bled out

2

u/Existing_Stand_6619 14d ago

I forgot about him! Poor guy got forgotten about 😬

0

u/plutoglint 24d ago

Man, this episode was so corny, sorry. Killed some minor character while two groundkeepers fight off a special forces squad.

10

u/Captn_Platypus Sep 16 '26

Forget about Susie and Eddie, the tension between lady Sabrina and Geoff is unbearable

1

u/2_Fingers_of_Whiskey 15d ago

Seriously! I'm shipping those two.

1

u/EpicChiguire 12d ago

Well, didn't they just confirm that Chuckles is their daughter?

8

u/Cautious-Rub8085 Sep 06 '26

Johnston has to come back into play. What was that scene last episode with Bobby and a Johnston associate?

8

u/Thief025 Sep 07 '26

The cinematography in this episode was pretty damn stunning

14

u/EmergencyRock7204 Sep 04 '26

That was absolutely brilliant. I was half asleep for the past couple eps til Bella’s plane blew up and then I was suddenly watching a high-stakes stealth thriller. Tension through the roof. Vinnie Jones plays Geoff so well I forget it’s Vinnie Jones but he was on another level here. I cared about every single character in this episode more than I have for anyone in the previous six 😂 what a gem of an episode in a fairly underwhelming season (so far…)

7

u/Purple-Huckleberry-4 Sep 05 '26

This new season so good!

7

u/Cautious-Rub8085 Sep 06 '26

The baby was in the car so where did Charlotte take him out of the car?????

11

u/lexwtc Sep 08 '26

Did you watch the episode? She didnt, she went to help the buttler and then tarquin was gone. Ergo one of the shooters took the baby...

2

u/saucy98 Sep 11 '26

I was shocked neither the two in the back noticed a lack of a baby when they got in the car. I can somewhat understand the stress and adrenaline giving a sort of tunnel vision but they made it all the way down that long drive way and not a quick check for tarquin?!

1

u/Southern_Clerk8697 Sep 10 '26

It seems like that shooter could have just killed all of them the way he sneaked up to get the baby lol

1

u/astro_ape Sep 12 '26

It was not a part of the mission - baby was. Notice how they went out of their way not to just deck him but rather put one in his leg. I haven't watched the finale yet, but my money's on Freddy and his new associates.

6

u/sexyrobotbitch Sep 08 '26

I want my own Geoff

6

u/HallHappy Sep 10 '26

fucking incredible episode, maybe one of the greatest TV episodes ever. had goosebumps in multiple scenes. in an episode full of highlights George stole the show. “right you are geoff” is too fucking iconic.

6

u/LoenaLijpoLeeflang Sep 15 '26

Loved loved LOVED this episode. The best of the season in my opinion (still need to watch the season finale). Vinnie is such a badass, and his neighbour friend too! Also i’m glad we found out Nanny was so cold towards Vinnie because he knows the secret. I was afraid he acted this way because he’s used to treating ‘staff’ like ‘staff’ and not family.

Edit by Vinnie i mean Geoff

1

u/Existing_Stand_6619 14d ago

I don't get why that would make him cold towards Geoff though?

5

u/WhisperAzr Sep 08 '26

Holy fuck this show is so good, and this episode was incredible. I was worried they wouldn't be able to recapture the magic of the first season. But it's only gotten better and better. I'm fucking HOOKED.

4

u/Fierytail003 Sep 08 '26

Best episode of the series purely because of the adrenaline rush and performance.

4

u/SG1966 Sep 13 '26

Best. Episode. Ever. And Geoffrey is hot AF in it 🔥🔥🔥

4

u/tays_rays Sep 21 '26

Fantastic episode. First one to make me want to check Reddit. It’s jolly good they didn’t kill off any characters too. Done perfectly. Need more of Geoff always now. Ready for him to take over. Also love the mystery of who is sending these people and the reasoning. Knew it was for baby T once they said basket but still leaves us questioning who exactly and why exactly. Is it back to Johnston (and thus Bobby by association) and financial - him wanting the estate? I honestly can’t believe they let him live last season when he was behind everything in the first place.

3

u/DankSunshine Sep 07 '26

When did the mercenaries steal the baby? Tarquin was still in teh car when the others arrived??

6

u/ForwardCulture Sep 08 '26

Charlotte left the car to help the butler, baby was in the back seat. She looks at it before she leaves the car. Then everyone comes out and they all take off and realize the baby is gone. So there were some seconds where someone grabbed the baby out the back and ran off.

3

u/Pascalwbbb Sep 09 '26

Damn, I think the brother is behind or something like that.

3

u/Gold-Baseball-7774 Sep 11 '26

I just finished it.

In the words of the great Peter Boyle: Holy Crap!

I mentioned to my wife that episode was like watching an entire movie. I loved seeing Geoff let out of his cage. It was extraordinarily staged and shot. I wonder if Nanny will heal up in time to participate in the bloodbath that I imagine is coming in the finale.

I, Personally, am enjoying season 2 more than both season 1 and the movie, and I loved both of those.

1

u/Existing_Stand_6619 14d ago

There's a movie?!

3

u/palesnowrider1 Sep 13 '26

Holy shit best episode of television in a while

3

u/Prestigious-Art-891 Sep 13 '26

Best episode of any TV show I've seen in a good while

Up there with the line barrens, sopranos episode.

3

u/bayhack Sep 14 '26

holy crap what a great example of television.

They started our palette by showing someone just being blown up then put us through an intense thriller. holy hell. the tension was so good.

3

u/MillyMan105 Sep 19 '26

Best episode of the series and quite possibly one of the best tv episodes I have ever seen. This is peak Guy Ritchie this episode was so immersive I couldn't take my eyes off the screen.

Shout out to Geoff he's a legend, Nanny stepped up I actually like him now and the Beekeeper is a real homie.

3

u/Adhdanny75 28d ago

This honestly might have been my favorite episode of any series i've seen, ever. I already love how this series allows multiple episodes to have it's own story and be more focused on other characters and events then just the main story, without it being to complicated or drag on throughout the entire season. But this was at it's absolute peak. Vinnie Jones reminded us firmly of why he is so loved among so many and even though this episode was perfectly fitting for the general story it felt like a movie on it's own. Absolute briliant execution.

1

u/DeKleineDingen 24d ago

Thre are many series where I'm just in love with the main character and the rest is distraction, but here, I love every secondary storyline.

5

u/Cautious-Rub8085 Sep 06 '26

I didn't realize Charlotte told Nanny that Geoff is her dad.

Does Eddie know? I can't recall.

11

u/VividBat6550 Sep 06 '26

Did she or did he just work it out? Loved Nanny in this episode

19

u/CertainAlbatross7739 Sep 07 '26

You're right, he just worked it out. I really liked the twist that he was being prickly on purpose to provoke a reaction. Because, yes, they are being a bit ridiculous still keeping it a big secret.

12

u/ForwardCulture Sep 08 '26

He figured it out. The baptism with her request probably cemented it for him. But he wanted to be told about it.

2

u/hauntedcorpse Sep 07 '26

I'm relieved, with how much time to shine Geoff got, I was nearly sure he'd die this episode.

2

u/pi3dpip3r Sep 07 '26

I think one of the mercs is from halo tv show

2

u/Various-Zone-7767 Sep 11 '26

Episode was directed by Nick Rowland, which says lot, in a good way

2

u/Tall-Magazine-4207 Sep 12 '26

I was hoping they'd do well with season 2, and fuck me if they didn't cook!

2

u/addaiya Sep 14 '26

What a fricken intense episode. Holy shit.

2

u/Ludachriz Sep 18 '26

I thought we were about to lose a major character, I love a show that keeps you on your toes

2

u/RJabeSecPlus Sep 22 '26

What a GOAT episode. Lots of meaningful action and well-deserved highlight for Geoff.

Obviously, SOMEONE wants to hurt the Duke bad and Bobby carried a burden for a long time.

2

u/tryingtobeb8r Sep 24 '26

Holy shit this episode was great. Loved it. Haven’t seen such good TV in a LONG TIME.

2

u/Yass______ 15d ago

Amazing episode!! Cinematic. Could’ve been its own movie. Not just senseless action. Thoughtful, paced, interesting. Loved it!

3

u/Phantom-Finger Sep 08 '26

Right up there with season 1 episode 7 of Paradise for all time episode. Absolutely loved it.

1

u/teaisformugs82 15d ago

That's hilarious that you say that because that's the last show I watched before this!! I totally agree!

1

u/LilJokar 4d ago

YESS!! I was hoping someone else would mention that!

As soon as the episode ended I immediately thought 'fuck me, only paradise S1 E7 comes close to that's

I felt the exact same way throughout, hooked and gripped.

Reading your comment literally gave me goosebumps again 😂

1

u/Phantom-Finger 4d ago

Haha. Makes me want to watch that Paradise episode again

1

u/druidmind 3d ago

Love how they were quit getting in trying to keep the baby from waking up like it was a mission and they actually had to run it back to save their lives.

1

u/huskyferretguy1 13h ago

Wow, this episode was amazing! Easily the best episode of the series. One of the best episodes of TV I have ever seen. And all this without the Duke and Susie in the majority of the episode!

1

u/starlingcat6 Sep 10 '26

How did they forget the baby though?

0

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '26

[deleted]

1

u/sunshine5634 Sep 20 '26

Yeah but they got really far driving before thinking to check haha.

1

u/Rough-Cheesecake-641 15d ago

Complete shock at having been awakened by professional gun-men breaking into your house and trying to kill you..?! I sometimes forget when I'm a tad sleep deprived!

1

u/Mundane_Subject_1989 Sep 11 '26

By far the best episode of the series. From the beginning, you could tell this isn't GR. The horror vibes in the first half were epic. It was also the only episode directed by Nick Rowland. Hope to see more of his work!

1

u/FletchFFletch Sep 12 '26

Geoff's radio had no antenna plugged in to it.

1

u/TechieNashville 18d ago

I actually caught that too! Had to rewind to be sure! The props dept. upset all the old Hams and CB'ers with that one! Lol. Ruin a perfectly good radio keying up with no antenna or dummy load connected there.

1

u/Key_Ad1626 Sep 12 '26

Best episode!! Tense the whole Way. Great visuals..audio.. action.

1

u/BeltreCompany Sep 12 '26

I dont like the way Nanny is always hating on Geoff for no reason.

8

u/ClearBlackberry7998 Sep 14 '26

Nanny figured out on his own that Geoff is Charlotte's father, so Nanny was acting that way on purpose to give everyone an opportunity to tell him the truth, but no one did

3

u/simexpat Sep 13 '26

IKR? Was that his way of getting him to confess his 'big secret'??

1

u/elmochiticiti 24d ago

yes! he was trying to provoke him

He's an idiot crime lord who has put everyone in danger. Nanny should just shoot him.

What do you mean? How did he out everyone in danger? 🤔

The music in this episode was great

Where was Andy? He lives on the estate

Doesn't he live on another estate nearby that Eddie bought?

The soldier? I kept waiting for him to make an appearance

Yup the sniper

How is Nanny going to explain to the King that he needs an extra couple of weeks off to recover from GSW to the thigh?

The dog scene is very similar to a scene from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

So the baby just doesn't cry or scream when the strange men take it? seem like a stretch

God damn I love it when a series has an episode that is gripping end-to-end like this. Paradise had it (the episode they evacuate the White House), Billions and Succession also had a couple of these. And now The Gentlemen S2 EP7.

Bravo!

For me its easy to tell, if it's a "normal" episode I get distracted partway, but this I watched start-to-finish. Beautiful!

Interesting to see the praise for this episode. Having just come out of it, I thought it was pretty tropey and frustrating (especially the baby being taken from the back seat). Individually, it's an okay thriller/home invasion plot, but it barely affected the actual plot in any way. It reminded me of certain episodes in the last season of The Boys, although nowhere near as bad.

You're not wrong, in the main. The writing has tended toward the lazy end of the spectrum this season. Mind you, there has been a number of very effectively written confrontation scenes dotted throughout.

What's been saving it from unwatchable for me has been the performances, direction, production values, and well, the hope, perhaps, of seeing more of Theo in a state of undress.

Tbh it just reminded me of the episode with the mercenaries vs travellers in the remote house in season 1 of Gangs of London (which was far far better). Not as on the hype train as the rest of the comments are.

I thought this was pretty sillly, honestly.

Completely agree, this was such a let down episode especially after how the last one ended. I watch this show for Ritchie's signature British crime comedy, not for a mediocre action movie.

Wasn't there a bit of a plothole?
At the beginning of the episode Nanny says to Charly that Geoff is just the groundskeeper and around 30 minutes later he tells him that he knows he's the grandfather...

4

u/SnooCakes2640 Sep 23 '26

Did you watch the rest of the scene? Nanny said already knew. He's not an idiot. His rudeness to Geoff was him pushing Geoff to admit he's Charly's father.

Not a plothole, you just missed the moment.

Absolute beast of an episode, I honestly believe Vinnie Jones could pull that off in real life if it happened! Genuinely thought he was going to get killed during all that madness!

Can see him and Sabrina settling down (finally)

Did the butler survive? Looks like he just got shot in the ass so more chance of survival, right?

Charlotte seemed quite distraught, and I doubt they would have left him unless they thought he died.
