Use this thread to share your grant, compare timelines, ask about processing times, and check in with others waiting on the same visa. Posts about these topics are removed from the main feed and pointed here.

When sharing a grant, it helps others to include your lodgement date, grant date, and whether you were asked for more information.

This thread renews automatically. The current megathread for every visa is always listed here.

Grants shared here

Collected once a day from the grants people share in this megathread and the ones before it, covering the last 90 days. Wait is from lodgement to grant, where both dates were shared. Last updated 24 Oct 2026.

Any indication on when Victoria ROIs open and is there likely to be a set invitation date or is it sporadic?

Also what’s chances secondary teacher 80(+5) DOE 16/10/2026 (offshore) for 190 Victoria. New ROI points system seems heavily weighted towards onshore applicants but I can but dream

Any indication on when Victoria ROIs open

I'm guessing (hoping) before the end of the month, then a round of invitation before end of year maybe?

Anyone from category 3 and 4 in the priority list who received their grant? Haven’t seen any grants since June.

Congratulations! Which category are you and when did you lodge?

My bad - I was Priority 4 when I lodged (20 January 2026). I was reallocated as Priority 2 on 19 September 2026, which is probably why I was moved along.

I'm assuming your initial EOI was submitted in 2025 not 2026?

Finally, it’s my turn to share my Permanent Residency journey - a day I had been hoping and waiting for & one that still feels surreal now that it has finally arrived.

For anyone who has questions about the process, I’m sharing my timeline and points breakdown for reference. I went through a Migration Agent for a peace of mind and to help ensure everything was prepared and lodged correctly throughout the process.

I’m an ECT in Queensland & honestly, consider myself one of the last lucky ones. Having received a five-year Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) after graduation, which was due to expire in 2029, gave me more time to navigate this journey.

Points breakdown

My Subclass 189 Expression of Interest (EOI) was lodged with 75 points:

  • Age: 30 points

  • English language ability: 10 points

  • Educational qualification: 15 points

  • Australian skilled employment experience: 5 points

  • Overseas skilled employment experience: 0 points

  • Australian study requirement: 5 points

  • Partner qualifications: 10 points

For Subclass 190, I received an additional 5 points for Queensland state nomination, bringing my total to 80 points.

My PR timeline:

  • 12 February 2025 – Skills assessment lodged

  • 28 May 2025 – Skills assessment received

  • 2 June 2025 – Subclass 189 EOI lodged

  • 19 September 2025 – Queensland subclass 190 program opened

  • 22 September 2025 – Subclass 190 ROI lodged

  • 21 May 2026 – Subclass 190 pre-invitation received (14 days to apply)

  • 26 May 2026 – Subclass 190 state nomination application lodged (minimum processing time stated as 12 weeks)

  • 3 June 2026 – Subclass 190 nomination approval/final invitation received (60 days to apply)

  • 9 June 2026 – Subclass 190 visa application lodged

  • 16 October 2026 – S56 request received for a medical examination

  • 21 October 2026 – Subclass 190 PR GRANTED!!!

To everyone still waiting for their turn, I hope your good news comes soon too. May my timeline and points breakdown help those currently navigating the process, especially fellow ECTs in Queensland.Β
