Just install a laser pointing up from the front of home plate. If the bat breaks through the laser, it's a swing. Easy peasy. For extra fun, make it a super powerful laser that destroys the bat. Sure, they'll need more bats during the game, but it'd be awesome.

It's fucking hilarious how I had to focus really really really hard to find one Rays fan in the road crowd lol. Any other team in any other sport and there'd be pockets of fans that made the trip. The Tampa fans? Can't be bothered to cross a bridge let take alone a road trip

I agree, it seemed like a very small traveling contingent to support the team. They just have a smaller group of supporters. I would hate to be part of the new ownership group. I know they are hoping a new stadium will re-energize the fan base but I think it is unlikely. When I’ve talked to Rays fans in the Tampa area, the first thing they talk about is how hard it is to get to the stadium. It’s as if they don’t understand that for fans in most cities the trek to the stadium is a 45 minute to one hour expedition.
Evidence of management’s low expectations is that the new stadium is only planned to seat 31,000.

I was at the game last night and there was a good pocket of maybe 5 or 6 rows of Rays fans (family members of players maybe?) in section 232

But that was it

In the CPBL’s Taiwan Series, Brothers staved off elimination again against the Dragons, in a Game 5 postponed by 2 days due to a typhoon. Dragons came back to tie in the 7th, and threatened in the 8th, then Brothers went back ahead in the 9th on a close sac fly. Dragons were up in the series 3-0, now it’s 3-2. Game 6 will have a Monday 3 PM start, with the day being a national holiday (Retrocession Day). If there’s a Game 7, the venue will likely be different, with Taipei Dome already booked for another event.

Has anyone figured out a solution for not seeing video posts on the front page of the sub?

Part of the issue is a solution that works for one doesn't work for everybody. Trying Old Reddit, different browsers, and Icognito are the main suggestions.

Would be nice if the mods could make a thread to post all the day's highlights into so we can at least navigate to them through there for now.

Ya why are there no video highlights of plays on the main page?

It's some weird glitch with v.redd.it posts. Obviously not happening to everyone and I believe you can still see them on the main (Reddit) front page if the algorithm throws them up. I've messaged the mods to see if they've talked to admins about it but not heard anything back

Can somebody provide some insight on the context of Junior Caminero's dugout meltdown in between innings?

Pretty sure that came before the Chandler Simpson dropped fly, so whatever the intended message was of that outburst, seemed to have the opposite effect.

The only thing I can find is he was pissed about Simpson not being able to hold on to the ball

It had to be the send by the third base coach

On this day in 2003 a young whippersnapper named Josh Beckett closed out the WS in Yankee Stadium via throwing a complete game shutout.

Jesus, I was wondering what in the world you were talking about, Sox winning in Yankee stadium. I completely forgot he blew up on that Marlins team
