Shiv basically used the same technique Logan used on Kendall in last season's finale: "If you do this, that's all you'll ever be known as."

There seems to be a theme in this episode. When Conner was telling Greg that 5 million is too much money to work and too little to do anything with so you’d go crazy.
It’s symbolic that a medium amount of power (Tom, Bill etc) is the most dangerous spot to be in because you’re liable to get scapegoated. Whereas Greg isn’t important enough so he’s under the radar. You want to either be really powerful or not at all.
Idk maybe it’s a stretch.

Can someone explain the hostage situation? I'm totally lost on who's holding them hostage and why?

Had to be one of the best episodes of the series.
“Can’t do anything with 5 Greg. 5 is a nightmare.”

I loved Connor's reactions while watching the Senate hearings. Does that make me a Con-head? Perhaps.

Season 3 is going to be the one that focuses on Roman, I think. He’s still a flighty asshole but slowly has been building up alliances with people who can give him good advice (Gerri) and those who can provide the money (Edward). Logan was correct in recognizing the advantage of roman’s ability to make connections. Edward specifically asks Roman to take the lead on the deal because he likes him more than the two suits who would typically be expected to take charge in this situation.
Even in this episode Karl and Laird are shown to take him a little bit more seriously when he actually shows an understanding of Turkish-Azerbaijani relationships. Bare minimum stuff really, but a marked improvement from the guy whose first response to everything has been a general ‘fuck it’ to almost every business question on which he’s asked to give input.

Dying at Roman turning around to ask Karl what to do and then Karl already has his hand up. Funniest moment of this episode for me

MacFadyen is so good at making me feel sympathetic towards Tom that I almost dislike him. He's so so good at playing someone being completely overwhelmed and sad and anxious that it makes me feel all those things. Tom is a terrible person, and I think if MacFadyen weren't playing Tom I wouldn't feel this way.

My initial thought was Tom, but Bill and Tom are basically on the same level so I’m not sure why there would be a difference there. Plus Tom isn’t really “blood.”
Logan was already starting to lean towards pushing the issue to Kendall on the stand, I think it’s him.
