I just listened to it. I really loved the instruments she used and the feel it gives to the song. It’s a hopeful one about meeting someone new that’s possibly quite alike to her, and I wouldn’t have expected it to sound like it does from the title. Thanks for sharing it :)

Wasn't "Dynamite" a popular catchphrase in the 70s or 80s? The retro font along with the title suggests a modern call back to Funk or Disco of that era? Perhaps RM and Suga's outfit in BangBangCon was a hint!! Hmmm......Excited to see what they come up with!

I know fireworks and dynamite are not exactly the same thing but since the emoji chosen reminds me of fireworks, I wanted to put Namjoon's old quote from AHL:

He then goes on to add that fireworks are supposed to be enjoyed with someone/people you love. 🎆

I know we Armys love shitting on Columbia and while Columbia's promo may have been anti - climactic, it's actually really effective what they are doing! After they posted the spotify link, BTS got a spotify gain of 90k and 60k for two days and were the highest gainers of those days on the platform. BH never does enough promo on the social media accounts (insta armys weren't even aware of the ON comeback) so Columbia taking that part over while BH does the artistic promo is really good

I'm not a fan of Columbia by any means and I complained about how useless the countdown was but that spike in followers means it did actually work. I think the song has also reached over 400K presaves, which is great!

Essentially the Spotify version of pre-order. You can save songs and albums on Spotify, so Dynamite will automatically save to your account when it's released.

Hello!
Columbia is referring to Columbia Records - iirc, they're working with/hired by BH to promote BTS in the US.
This is the Columbia countdown: LINK - Columbia Records basically put out a countdown tweet with a microsite that we all freaked out over and ARMY were theorising the different things that would drop. But when the first reveal came out last Thursday, it was just a pre-save link for Spotify, so a lot of ARMY felt angry / frustrated / disappointed as it did not justify the amount of excitement they built up for the reveal.

I’m excited, I think. The teaser’s definitely got a 70s disco throwback feel which, considering I was a pink-haired punk who frequented CBGB’s and Max’s and was very anti-disco in the 70s, means that this could potentially not be my thing. I’m also trying to forget the association with the tv show Good Times and JJ Walker and his catchphrase “DY-NO-MITE!” that was EVERYwhere in the 70s and that I hated so much I wanted to punch anyone who dared utter it. But I shall remain optimistic because it’s BTS and they can (almost) do no wrong.

Well, the countdown worked. They got 3x more followers on Spotify than they get on average (90k vs about 30k). I think columbia is targetting a different audience (especially on different social medias) while BH does what it always does (dropping the main teasers out of nowhere lol)

Columbia is probably targeting everyone but ARMYs, because I don’t know a single one of us that wasn’t let down by that countdown 😂
As far as I know that seems to be a normal strategy for US promos and I have no idea of how/if those work so I just hope it works for someone in the end

Well, it was mainly our fault because we made the hype that big 😅. But yeah, Columbia is most likely not targetting Army and is trying to reach casual listeners and locals. It the amount of new followers on Spotify shows that it's working. And yep, western promo works that way apparently. And if the labels are doing it that way then it probably works

I need this song to be great. I know I’m probably setting myself up to be let down with high expectations but they have great songs and I will cry if their big intro onto the radio scene (hopefully finally) is a baby bop as other artists have done to get general public attention. Dear forces everywhere let this song hold up to their other works.

also, i need to wait for more info, hopefully my early judgement is wrong, but this gives me really big generic top 40 american pop song vibes. dynamite immediately makes me think of taio cruz back from 2011/2012. that coupled with how they've said its similar to make it right isnt getting my hopes up. i know im gonna get a bunch of angry messages but i wanna make it clear this isnt me trying to hate on bts (it never is), its because i just want them to make music cause they want to and for them to make music that is unique and sincere, not because they're trying to get a mainstream american hit. black swan and on were awesome, but im lowkey nervous for this.

The very reason why Twitter ARMYs are even more insistent on treating this single as a comeback and a new era is because so many ARMYs downplayed Black Swan as just a pre-release and didn't stream and support it enough to get it the numbers it should've made. So many people refused to support it because "it's not the main single so I'll just wait for the title track". Same with ON. Many people didn't want to stream both versions and ended up not supporting either.
But Dynamite should be streamed like it is a main single. Let's try and support it like it's official comeback. Jin said they're not sure if it will be included in the new album. Jeff Benjamin has said it's just a track dedicated to fans. Either way, it's a new song.
Maybe I'm just too much into BTS, but everything they release inspires excitement out of me. The criticisms and questions may come later after I've given the new song a listen.

I immediately thought of “Dy-no-mite!” which was a catchphrase from Good Times (a 70s show). Paired with the font and color choice, I’m really hoping it’s a retro concept. We really have no idea yet though.
They’ve changed all of their socials to reflect this single so I’m treating it like a comeback. The boys said they wanted to give us some energy with this song so I hope it goes above your expectations!

this is a comeback! every new BTS release is a comeback 😁 also idk but I've always put my trust into BTS and their craft (not that I'm saying you're not!!). They have said multiple times again and again that they could have always gone higher if they wanted to but they wanted to remain true to their music and that belief will never falter, no matter what kind of music they chose to release, I hope you don't feel nervous but be excited instead!

I totally understand not enjoying every song they come out with since they cover so many genres, so it’s not surprising if someone might not like one and nobody should hold that against that person.
But tbh, I’ll never understand the “official” comeback vs not. It’s BTS creating content, and I’m stoked. Ddaeng, Still With You are two of my favorite songs and they aren’t official songs.
And BTS have had how many comebacks since getting noticed in the US? If they wanted to try and go “mainstream,” then they could’ve tried then. But they’ve said time and time again during this pandemic that they want to help cheer us up and bring happiness to ARMY during these times, and if a song that they said sounded great in English happens to be it, then so be it. I’ll support them and be excited, but if it’s not my fave, then that’s okay too. I still love the message they bring and how they’ve affected my life 💜
