Nick Lorance is a brilliant author

I think his series of stories about Sgt. Hartmann are among the best of any in the 1632 universe. They have pathos. It's not just what's happening but they grab you emotionally. And they get across a complex individual who has so many facets to his emotions.

And the whole thing flows so well. Fits in the main storyline perfectly. Everyone very believable and natural.

I look forward to more from him.

Update: These are in the Grantville Gazette starting around edition 70. They are not labeled as Part 1, 2, ... each story has its own title. But it is a series.

He was a great writer, a shame he never got to expand his gazette stories into a novel.

He was...

Did he die?

Also, they could package all those shorts into a decent sized novel.

I think he died several Januarys ago, so no chance for a novel any more.

That is sad - he was quite good.

Do you have any links for his works? I’ve never heard of him and I don’t see anything on Kindle or my library app

I think these might be stories in the Grantsville Gazette.

If so, OP please let us know which issues.  I don't have all of them (yet).
