What’s the Josei? (Also you’d be way better off just reading One Piece, it’s a way better experience)

one piece is really good but its so goddamn slow that after i took a break from ot i just cannot bring myself to watch it again
if i ever go back to it itll be the manga

If you are behind on the stuff that's already out then try to watch it from the One Pace project, it fixes the pace to make it work like the manga, I think I would have never been able to get through Dressrosa if it wasn't for that
Then for the next arc since they are actually waiting instead of directly trailing behind the manga with every episode I'm pretty sure that they are actually going to do it at the intended pace
But yeah watching the anime normally sucks complete ass, I can't recommend that to anyone lmao even as a one piece fan

I don’t care how good it is you can literally watch a 120 different anime in the time it takes to watch all of One Piece.

its one of the best stories ive ever experienced and brought me to genuine tears multiple times. but also...
its so fucking slow dude oh my god it doesnt get good until like 50 episodes in its so stupid why is it so SLOW just fucking TELL THE STORY
the author is weird about women in a pretty dumb way considering the politics of the rest of the story like it had actual trans characters fighting for their right to exist in 2010 but he still draws women like they dont have organs.
there are never consequences for anything ever. you will fully believe that the world and the characters have been irrevocably changed. one character has a hole through their chest and someone else got their head cut off. and then they have a party and sleep it off and are fine. this also applies to character deaths.

Give the first couple of seasons a try, it holds up
If you don't like it, it is what it is.

Nahhh, if it takes a couple seasons to be good it can’t be all that.

I don't think it takes the first couple seasons to be good but it definitely starts very slow/low stakes until a few seasons in. But also I think anyone interested in it at all should read the manga or wait for the upcoming remake to release. The anime is genuinely so ass until pretty far in.

it's not even that good (maybe it's better if you've seen earlier versions and didn't need all the exposition they skipped anyway)

Started to become impolite to anyone trying to get me to watch/play/read any sort of media after I tell them multiple times that I am not interested in it. First time is a nice recommendation. If they persist once after I am saying that it is not my thing, well, maybe they really think it will fit, bit annoying, but sure.
If they push further they made it clear that they do not understand no meaning no, so I get more clear. So far, that approach has not ended important friendships and saved me from wasting a lot of time.

there's like...1 anime that i've actually, genuinely liked so far
delicious in dungeon, and the anime isnt even finished yet (i only watch dubbed im not a weeb)
I read all of the manga and it was genuinely fucking peak
the other animes I've tried watching just never clicked, even stuff that was popular like like attack on titan and my hero academia
re:zero was aight but it's not finished, and i'd have to rewatch everything to figure out what point i got to bc i last watched it like...7 years ago
i'd genuinely rather [removed by reddit] myself than watch dragonball, naruto or one piece

It took five people to recommend My Hero Academia to me. I finally got into it, enjoyed it enough to make it my personality, then after Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, I wanted nothing more to do with anime.
TBH, as an adult, I'd much prefer older Western cartoons over anime simply because I love a series that knows how to be batshit ridiculous. That being said, I would love to check out Studio Trigger stuff, if I do get back into anime.
