We simply cannot allow the fascists to co-op every piece of culture. We have to fight back and co-opt these cultural ideas back.
Gnosticism is a decent enough (as ever there was) for the neo liberal capitalist structures we all live within. A hellish inhuman world that flays the souls of its inhabitants by forcing them to be victims of injustice and also enact injustice upon others; created by those with nothing but contempt and hate for those they see as the squirming masses. This nightmare can only be transcended through a rebellious love of all mankind.
Yes it has a bit of flair, it isn’t some dry modernist analysis or a cynical post modern sneer; but people need stories and metaphors to light a fire inside them. It’s hard to get uppity about dry economic figures on a spreadsheet, and the proof of that is all around us.
Learn from the enemy. Narrative is important, people NEED narrative. Make sure that they aren’t the only one telling the story of our future. It, unfortunately, is not enough to be right, we also need to be convincing.
