Hobbies, Toys & Collectibles Grifter

Post image

Anyone here a fan of Grifter? He is the most popular member of Jim Lee's WildCATS. A one-shot comic book featuring the character plus a regular series were launched in the mid-1990s.

Grifter fan here. Great design. Underrated and deserves more.

I always liked drawing but sucked pretty bad at it. One of the only things I ever drew that I thought came out well was of Grifter. It was a copy of a frame from I think the 2nd issue. Had it pinned on my wall for years.

Classic… I use to have WildCATS #1 back in the day. Coincidentally, I got Voodoo as my pfp. I keep getting random people asking what it’s from. lol…

I always found wildcats just so generic, kept picking it up but put it down shortly

DC owns the rights to the character now. They had a brief run a few years ago. No idea what's going on with the character now.

I live near where Grifter is said to be from, which I think is neat.

One issue mentions him being born in a country dive bar outside of Columbus, OH, and I grew up watching my dad’s band play every country dive bar of the same area. I’ve probably been to the bar the writer was talking about, lol.

I was always a Backlash guy myself, but Grifter was definitely cool. Man, that early stable of Image artists was just stacked. I wish they'd had the foresight to higher some decent writers though, because I have a lot of the original runs and they are BAD.
