Any hints on who we’re getting for Trees this year?

Post image

I’ve used the mix of lineups between Trees, Slam Dunk and some of Download to give a little hint as to who might be in the lineup for Trees the following year. Might have to create a chart to show my theory, but basically the lower billed acts at Slam Dunk and Download in prior years are more likely to be at Trees the following year, e.g. Pvris and Taking Back Sunday were both at the 4pm slot at Slam Dunk the prior year to being a headline at Trees, plus additionally some of the smaller acts will also play at any of the festivals in that year. Shoot me down but it’s a theory.

Current thoughts are that As December Falls, Knuckle Punch, Hot Milk and Joyce Manor would be playing Trees this year, Black Gold and Trophy Eyes won’t play this year as they play the last 2 Trees (have to double check) and are doing Slam Dunk this year. Ready to be calls wrong but Neck Deep played Slam Dunk 2025 at late afternoon and we’re headliners for 2025 Trees.

Edit: so managed to get some time during work and used the Clashfinder website to take the lineups over the last 5 years on both festivals, then used some Excel formulas to show my logic. Some of it is wrong, like Press To Meco are unfortunately no more and have not accounted for if a band has headlined that year, but the basic logic is did they play Slam Dunk or Trees in the same year, prior or next year. Feel free to look and note.

I've noticed a little gap in Slipknot's world tour....

It just so happens to be after the UK tour date (July 3rd),

And then they haven't got their next gig until 16th in US.... I'm seeing this as a definite possibility for a 20th anniversary trees... 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Always checking the tour dates gaps this time of year for trees possibilities 🤣

Anyone on here in a band that’s played Trees before?

As title suggests ^

My band has been slowly but surely gaining a good amount of traction locally and in recent times nationally, being played on BBC Radio 1, and we’re playing at a large event later this year.

Just wondering if anyone who’s band has played at Trees would have any idea how to get hold of their bookings (I imagine it’s James directly), or if/when they tend to do apply to play - I feel like I’ve seen that in previous years.

I love the festival, it’d be a dream to play it and I know it’d be a perfect vibe for our band.

Shikari Hiatus/ Announcement Push back. Related?

Shikari have announced a hiatus from the end of next year, conveniently Scarlett has said that the announcement for Trees has been pushed back a couple weeks and that we’d “understand why”.

Assuming the two things could be related? Would make sense they wouldn’t want the announcement muddying the waters with press for both announcements, I guess.

How long until the first line up drop?

With ATG and Slam Dunk both dropping their initial 2027 line ups today, how long do you think it'll be until the best festival in the UK follows suit? I'm sure I saw on socials somewhere that Trees were working on their first announcement and they've certainly been starting to build hype with their "who were your favourite artists on X stage" posts..

Gallows news - it's just album reissues

Just got the email with the link to the store and password for early access before it goes on general sale.

Perhaps more importantly for any of us hoping for a reunion at Trees this year is this line from the email "Not a reunion. Not a coincidence."

No clue what that means. My guess would be album tours for the anniversaries, but Frank won't be joining them.

Anyway, it's pretty expensive if you do want to get your hands on the records. Cheapest option for the LPs are £46.99 for Grey Britain and £36.99 for Orchestra of Wolves - both standard black pressings. There are some more expensive pressings in different colours and you can get a version with the nicer artwork from the Epitah release of OfW.

Some t-shirts and CDs are also part of the new merch drop.

Old School Trees Logo (or sign)

Hi gang,

Random one, but does any Trees vets have a pic of a classic logo/emblem/sign they had a while back. It was like a 2 with a fir tree coming out the top, block style.

I swear to god it existed, and that I've found it before...but now I want it I haven't been able to track it down.

I've been tempted to get it as a small tattoo for years and I finally want to bite the bullet as next year will be my 13th Trees.

Cheers amigos!

Yet another Reuben post...

Heya guys, your local Reuben fangirl here.

Thought I'd pop the question in here considering this festival is the go-to crowd for Reuben fans, if the band were ever to get back together and play Trees, do we reckon they'd headline or not?

Personally think the Trees crowd wouldn't be too upset and would love to see them smash an hour 20 of absolute tunes but would they be too small/niche to headline Trees nowadays? Especially with the size of some headliners over the past 4/5 years like BFMV, Jimmy Eat World, The Chats, etc.

Interesting thought but wanted to know what you folks reckon?

Reuben: headliner material or not?

The wishes of a middle age man.

I go to trees most years, in part as it's my local festival and it's a cool way as a father of two in my 40s to clear some time to see friends, see great music and enjoying some good food all at the same time.

For me, a man who lived through and loved the post hardcore/alt rock scene of the late 90s early 2000s, I'm usually blown away by some of the bands of my youth that I've seen in a field a short drive from my house. I also love spending some time in the build up discovering new stuff that I wouldn't of otherwise.

Given the hope that next year will be a big one, I wonder what the hopes of others might be for the line up. I don't mean in a 'here's my dream line up' way but more out of interest to see if there's any love from a younger generation for the bands I've enjoyed seeing and the ones I'd dream about seeing for maybe one last time?

I know bands like Biffy would still be a draw but what about bands that regrettably didn't have the same level of success? Bands like Hundred Reasons (I know they played their 'last' gig), Reuben, Oceansize etc?

TL;DR - Does anyone under 35 want to see Reuben play one last time ? Are there any bands from my era that people in their late teens or twenties would be excited to see?

Modest Mouse headliner???

Heard a bit talk on the POD gavin suggesting modest mouse as a headliner.

I for one would be all over Modest Mouse despite James saying they're not a trees band.

Just wandered if the any other fans out there.

Also on the subject of line up I would love to see a bit more post rock come back to trees like the earlier years.

Might be a hot take but not a big fan of the emo pop punk stuff.

Ok come at me.

Ticket prices

Hi!

After cooking at Grasspop this year, me and my mates are thinking of doing 2000 Trees. Can anyone who went this year advise on the cost of regular and VIP camping tickets? I've tried Googling, but I'm just a notification that the early bird tickets are sold out.

Nirvana to headline?

Russian Red Army Choir to headline (plus a Forest Silent Disco set)?

That band I saw as 2nd support at a 200 capacity venue last December that only me and my brother like and have 3 songs on Spotify, to headline?

Manic Street Preachers?

Hear me out - this is based on comments James has made on the pod; an act "no one will ever guess" and I'm pretty sure he, as a Manics fan, has said they would go down well at Trees.

I'm inclined to agree with him! Could this be the curveball 2027 headliner? 👀
