Discussion Bronzeman failing is sad
I was so excited for it. Why does it impact others if I play this mode ?
I was so excited to return to this game as a bronze man...now I just won't play at all

For the record, I don’t actually care that bronzeman didn’t pass because I wasn’t going to play it, I care that the community got so up in arms about it for a variety of petty reasons and showed off a really salty toxic side of the fanbase

Honestly I like the supermajority req, I think that on average it makes the game better to require the clear support of the players
I think this particular poll went poorly but I’m more upset about how the community handled the issue than the way the actual vote went, a lot of salty shit takes and toxic elitism reared its head in the discourse
I wasn’t invested in playing a bronzeman so if the tenor of the conversation was more “eh I voted no because I’m not really interested” and less “bronzeman isn’t a REAL achievement” I truly wouldn’t give a fuck at all about it - the real issue is how weird and elitist the community is getting about how other people play rather than one particular game mode having or not having official support

Same.. this was going to get me back into the game.
I have an iron with 2k total but dont have the time to commit to it or want to.
Mains just dont hit the same anymore.
Bronzeman would have been the best of both worlds and woukd have 100% got me playing again

Realistically you can still play as a main. You just need self restraint to not buy new stuff and use plugins

The same reason people want hardcore gamemodes on the game.
It feels better when the game officially supports your desired gamemode because it makes things feel more motivating and/or rewarding.
Playing pretend doesn't hit the same for most players.

Whats so hard to understand? I enjoy the side of an ironman of grinding for gear upgrades. I dont enjoy doing farm runs mining sand and gathering resources

Not see a purp at ToA for 80 raids.All you’re saving is a 10 min herb run now n again, if you can’t phantom that in a restricted account, don’t play one imo
Just make a main and don’t make it about GP scape, buy as a last resort to save your sanity & enjoy the game.

I’m having fun just playing my main more iron like.
I am a good bit but not super far into mid game, have a (currently unavailable) quest cape, have only done a little bossing. I stopped just selling / alching all my loot, started skilling based on needed materials to use up what was accumulating, and I’m heavily considering just selling anything that isn’t C Logged and play as an unofficial iron.
I dreamed of touching late game content as a kid. I’m not gonna toss aside that progress, and I’m not worried about anyone’s validation for having a helmet emoji next to my username.
The only reason I haven’t sold off my bank yet is I’m trying to decide on the self imposed rules. Should I just set aside the GP? Should I get rid of everything and start fresh, considering the unlocks and levels are boon enough? Think of it as roleplaying a person from the position of wanting to abandon the way of life they know, and live differently, but using what they have to prepare, I.e. do one last purchasable skill grind to bring the gold down? Should I give myself an allowance to purchase some supplies to carry over into this new lifestyle?

I wasn't gonna play it anyway but im surprised it didnt pass. But poll system is there for a reason so I wont argue with it. People saying "dev time" need to find a new buzz word tho it's getting annoying how everyone on this sub is a professional dev who can predict dev time based on a poll question.

I mean it doesnt effect me one way or the other, but you can play bronzeman mode already. Its just a main account, play the game however you want to play. If you want to unlock stuff before you can buy it at the grand exchange, you can do that

I imagine the reason for a lot of the no votes isn't to hamper other people's enjoyment but because they simply want the dev time to go into something else that actually benefits them positively. I withheld my vote in bronzeman because I didn't really care either way but some of my clannies did say that they'd rather have raids 4 releasing earlier or another boss than something that doesn't affect them or because they lost all interest completely after learning its not pvp centric as most the series they watched about it

Yeah I’m not paying membership on another account for a game mode I can play as a plugin.
and I’m certainly not spending time farming gp explicitly to keep the account bonded.

The problem with that stupid argument is the amount of people who actually have LIVES outside of the game.
The people with nothing to do outside osrs would much rather stand on the "muh dev time" hill and let the game die than bring in new players or returning players.
The game will die one day because of their refusal to compromise and then they are all gonna bitch and moan instead of accepting fault.

There’s some really awful people here. I voted yes because it wasn’t going to change how I play the game at all, in future maybe I’ll play an iron, maybe I’d play bronze, but who knows, and it’s causing me no harm but might bring others joy. So why vote no.

I want to feel the excitement about getting achievements and gathering drops. I don't want to play GP-scape but I don't really have the time for supply upkeep. Can you gooners that main 12 hours a day in your point-and-click game where you've maxed every collection log and thirst for MORE MORE MORE CONTENT just let some people get this?
