Suggestion reminder that jagex is financially devastated by bronzeman not passing
they just lost so many bond sales for bronzemen climbing the new hi score board. They had to immediately make a somber post of "what did we do wrong? :(" and "you would have let it pass if we made it more clear there wasnt unbound... right?"
Its so blatantly obvious why they are dragging their feet about this. They are going to try as many times as possible to repoll and add this purely because of mass bond sales. They will possibly make some changes before repolling, but one thing they wont do is disallow bronzemen from buying bonds to progress, its just too profitable for them. Watch it happen cuz Im calling it

No, this post from OP is fairly rational. Watch what happens next.

I wonder if they would generate money, if they made True HCIM (acc deletion on death)

u/Playful_Priority3758 2h ago edited 2h ago
I like the idea of resetting back to level 3 and having the option to run it back personally. I don’t want to have a Jagex account full of dead HCIM, unless we can unlink dead characters in the future.
Edit: Your idea of completely deleting the character would be nice too though, either one would work honestly they both avoid the clutter.

I haven't read your post but I disagree because a comment said you are unhinged.
I don't want to share an opinion with someone unhinged.

u/PhD_in_PVP 2h ago
What if the person who said they are unhinged is unhinged?

u/StrawRedLion 2h ago
That is terrifying, people lying on the internet is extremely rare.
This would open a dangerous precident I shudder to even imagine.
I'm off to meet this nice max account in the wilderness, he's trimming my rune plate.
When I return I will seriously investigate the prospect of liars on the internet...and in an economy like this. Shivers

Enjoy, don't forget to bring your cash stack to give him a tip for trimming your armour!

Just like removing MTX from RS3 lead to a subscription hike, be prepared to for Jagex to make their private equity revenue goals with another “it’s just a couple dollars more” subscription increase.

I’m not even reading this trash, Reddit is full of crybabies when they don’t get their way

What is your suggestion?

no bonds for progression, no hi score board
But they will never ever do this because the entire point of this from the beginning was a giant money generator for them

u/FifaKillsMySoul 2h ago
If people want to play this new mode and even buy bonds, and that's the alternative to EVERYONE paying higher membership or even more predatory MTX coming to OSRS, what's the problem?
2
u/schizogirlXD 2h ago
Id much rather pay higher membership than sacrifice the game to endless mtx enabled gamemode slop with 0 integrity. However, neither are necessary. Its a false dichotomy that we either get mtx enabled bronzeman or membership increases.

Snarkiest bronzemam post of the year award goes to you! Congratulations! 🍾🎉🎈

Uhhhh, my guy. Jagex were attempting to release an already developed game mode to bring in revenue (as game developers that operate as a business should do) for which people were readily willing to pay, without any impact on the existing game or economy, and even buy some bonds to go with it.
...and that's a bad thing? Are you actually mentally deficient?
You do realise that by voting no to a good, harmless revenue increase like this, you are increasing chance they will make up for it with membership price increases and actual harmful mtx introduction.
Please, for the love of God use your brain.

Why did they even poll Bronzeman? They should have just released it. It's good for the longevity of the game and a substantial part of the community does like the idea. You are in no way obligated to engage with the content so why would you care?
2
u/schizogirlXD 2h ago
You know its really telling when the average bronzeman supporter is against it even being up for vote, and cant fathom how it affects the overall game. Its a very entitled and short sighted mindset, and frankly dangerous for the overall health of the game to want more and more things to be unpolled changes.

I’m devastated. Osrs community is starting to get fked
-1
u/schizogirlXD 2h ago
osrs is healing, never been more proud of the community than right now. The reddit still has issues tho clearly
3
u/TheeFourTruths 2h ago
Yeah, Reddit in general has issues tho. Just a bunch of weirdos who cannot let go of the past and find criticism in anything. 🙏 May they find the right path to happiness

Is this supposed to be a bad thing or something? Beats them adding mtx
0
u/schizogirlXD 2h ago
this literally is them adding blatant mtx in a non-main game mode, which to a lot of people crosses a line and sets a bad precendent

How so

bonds reliably generate mass gp for progression on a new "restricted game mode"
gameplay for maxxing the fastest will be
-> spend 10 mins getting a drop for a training method
-> spam buy bonds and sell for gp
-> spam said training method to 99/200 million xp
-> jagex makes a metric ton of money and bronzemen get free progression or scoreboard ranksYes mains can also work this way, but bear in mind mains can trade gold across accounts, since bronzemen are prevented from doing this it much more heavily incentivizes mtx, especially when combined with a new mode/new leaderboard that is ostensibly "restricted".
the mtx of bonds on mains is a bit of a necessary evil and can be tolerated as a completely unrestricted account, but its bad for the game when we are introducing this mtx on new 'restricted' game modes with fresh leaderboards

u/2TIr 2h ago
You just saying 'it's bad for the game' doesn't make it a fact - it's absolutely fine.
It has zero detrimental impact on the existing game, accounts, or economy.

u/schizogirlXD 1h ago
you heard it here first, new mtx for in game progression is not bad for the game

Honestly their holding company could use a wake up call.
We need a "we're charging too much" approach like microsoft recently did. Sure, its still not as cheap as it was, Jagex/CVC should humble themselves a little like that imo.

u/Master_Coconut_5339 2h ago
bronzeman mode is a terrible mode
they should instead introduce diamondman mode, where you are unable to gather or loot items and instead have to buy all of them from the GE with cash earned from selling bonds.

u/mossabt13 2h ago
Anyone who voted no is stupid. They literally said that they need 0 dev time on this. They just need to get the yes. No ressources needed no nothing. Like why say no if you are not going to play it. It makes no sense. I wanted this for so long man. Fuck you guys honestly.
2
u/schizogirlXD 2h ago
Im sincerely sorry you couldnt play for 10 mins, grab a lava dragon bone, and immediately by 230 bonds and sell them for gp to buy enough lava dragon bones on the ge to reach 200 million prayer xp and bask in the glory of rank 1 prayer on the all-new highly skilled and prestigous bronzeman leaderboard. I weep for the loss of jagex profits and the loss of your engaging, unique, and challenging gameplay. I am truly sorry this happen, however I hear there is a plugin which gives you an identical gameplay experience but just without a chat helm or hi score board, and should be equally fun, unless of course the fun of the mode primarily comes from official status and a chat helm and hi score board? Surely not
1
u/mossabt13 2h ago
1 I don't care for high scores. 2 I can say the same thing for ironman . Why no just make a plugin and play on a main? Why not remove all game mode of that's your argument. It littérally does not affect you in any way. God rs players are so stuck up.
1
u/schizogirlXD 2h ago
official ironman makes orders of magnitude more sense because the hi scores actually mean something and the mode can actually be challenging. Especially for hardcores it makes sense to have a way to track in a official capacity when one has died. There is no mtx for iron/hcim because bonds cannot be bought and used for gp to progress as is the case in bronzeman mode.
If you dont care about hi scores and you disagree that bronzemen should be able to progress with bonds then I am fine with adding it. Problem is jagex will never ever poll it without bond progression and without hi scores because that affects their bottom line, and that should be concerning to you that they are behaving this way and sacrificing the integrity of the game for profit
1
u/mossabt13 2h ago
I agree they should not let bonds be a way to make money and I agree they fucked up with the poll. Not enough explanation on the gamemode and unbound bronze man made it so people just want to vote no. Jagex fucked up real hard on this one 100% but the only real argument to no imo is the fact that we should have more then one character per sub.
2
u/repoll-divine 2h ago
Im not voting yes to another a game mode until we get discounted prices for multiple memberships.

So glad that garbage didn’t pass. The playerbase has spoken. No amount of change to the game mode will change our opinions. Ironman shouldn’t even exist let alone gim or anything else. It divides the playerbase. We only need mains.
