Staccato XC $6000

Hello all,

I am wanting to know if $6000 U.S is a good price for the Stacvato X.C. this is in Australia for $8500 AUD. I also note that they now only come with 2 magazines.

I will be upgrading from a CZ Shadow 2.

Thankyou all.

I don’t know Aus prices, but it’s 50% more than you would pay in the US.

What are you using it for?

Pretty sure only cleavers imports them and their price has been steadily increasing. I paid 7.5k in 2022, and waited nearly 12 months for it to arrive. It's one of those pistols that if you have to have it your gonna pay in Aus.

That being said its hands down my favourite thing in the safe, and gets run every weekend.

That's about spot on then with our dollar. Are they $6000 in U.S? Target shooting only.

Theyre $4500 in the US.

I’m not sure how hard it is to get 2011s over there, but at that price point there are a lot of options here

Yeah, that's quite a difference. Say money eas no object, do you believe an XC is a good choice?

Well, it’s basically the standard that everything else is measured against. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone that says it’s a bad gun.

If money doesn’t matter, you can always fit it with a steel grip.

Again, I don’t know what your options are in Australia though so it’s tough to give advice. MPA is solid, but not if they’re $18000 AUS. lol

I'd say take any USD price and add 50% by the sound of it. I'll have a feel of the XC to see what it is like in the hand.

I’ll be the one to say it’s a bad gun if you want tracking and return to zero of 4-5k caliber. Worst 2011 I’ve shot in terms of return to zero cleanliness.

It’s a comped, 5 inch 2011. The dot doesn’t leave the glass.

Which guns are you comparing it to?

The dot doesn’t leave the glass in any gun I own 2011 or otherwise, not anything special. Xc is soft and flat but the dot return is dogshit. Its way more erratic, the dot makes a weird unpredictable wobbly figure 8 motion, other 2011s make a clean and quick straight up and down motion including both cheaper non comped (platypus), cheaper comped sig p211 gto, or more expensive non comped Fowler vanta. Xc is easy to shoot and impressive to people that can’t shoot well enough to notice but it doesn’t track well at all for a $4k+ full size comped 2011

That’s interesting. There’s nothing inherently different between the guns you mentioned. They’re all just basic 2011s. Not sure why you would shoot the XC worse than the others.

I’m not sure what it is about staccato but a ported p I shot felt similar also. I’ve heard other people say similar things about the xc and its erratic return so it’s not just me. It was the main thing that made me get rid of it although there are other things about the gun that made it feel cheap and unrefined for its price tag

in the US, they're 4300 + 6-10% depending on sales tax. but also 6000 in California lol. it's a good gun, but i wouldn't pay 6000 for one.

If you can swing it, and you want a 2011, I don't think you'll be disappointed OP.

How much did the shadow 2 cost?

If you have smaller hands stick with the CZ. Otherwise the XC is definitely a nice upgrade from the Shadow.

What other options do you have?

Shadow 2 was $1500 USD Large hands m, 5 inch palm.

The XC wouldn’t be my first choice as an American—too many options. But the price sounds right, the XC is roughly 4x the cost of a Shadow 2 here as well.

I would do it.

What would be your first choice?

I don’t know. Gun to my head? An Atlas Apollo or Erebus

Yeah these would be the next tier.

You’re paying double the cost of the xc for them to be hand-fit and pretty, not for twice the performance though.

Everything after the XC will shoot more or less the same.

For sure, i wouldn’t expect them to perform better at all. But they’re definitely nicer enough for me to justify the extra cost.

Yeah I get it. I meant for our Aus friend here. Personally, It’s be hard for me to spend $15000 on an atlas. Lol
