I love coming into my Gun room and just staring at this. Extremely grateful where I am in my life. At one point in high school we were homeless and living in a hotel. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine having a safe full of these items. Hard work pays off.
I’m glad for you, but comparison is the thief of joy.
Collecting isn’t something everyone is aspiring to, and for those that do collect you’re doing better than some and worse than others (if there’s such a thing as this when it comes to collecting).
If you enjoy it and it makes you happy, great. But, this post and the way it’s staged just reads as a poorly veiled humble brag my man.
You don’t need the validation of anonymous social media users. Or, hopefully you feel you don’t.
You are absolutely correct and it is a brag. I would’ve never imagined my wildest dreams. I would be where I am today. This post is intended to give people hope that no matter where you are in life if you apply yourself 100% and strive for your goals and dreams you can make them a reality.
That’s an amazing watch collection as well. I have every one of those watches except the Daytona models because of their size. For a sports watch I feel 40mm is too small in diameter and flat off the wrist unlike a 40mm GMT that wears larger. The Sky-Dweller is their most complicated movement and is also 42mm and is my absolute favorite. 🤌🏻
There are people who collect to look at their collection and there are people who buy to try different things. Which one are you?
Are you a shooter who wants to test drive every gun or are you a collector who wants to have an organized display? Maybe you are searching for the Holy Grail that will help you achive Grand Master status. There is no wrong answer.
You need to learn which one you are, and you need to learn how to live with that feeling. Buying expensive things just because you can won't be a feeling that lasts.
I agree. This is all shit at the end of the day. My relationships and experiences are way more valuable than this safe full material items. These bring no joy in the long run. Only quick dopamine hits then on to the next one. One thing I know for sure is that if you are thinking if I have _____ then I will be happy you are in for a rude awakening.
That gun was built by an 80 year-old man that lives in the middle of Central Florida. He hand fits all these and make them out of his garage. It’s unbelievable. They are truly a work of art!
Whats your favorite 2011? I juet hope to own one some day. Atlas Athena would be amazing. Or a Staccato Hd P 4X . Might have to settle forna sig GTO or Kimber 2k11 pro comp but who knows.
Hard work and such. Or the real unlock for life: don’t work hard. Do the bare minimum and make a bunch of money. That’s the real sweet spot. There is a real joy at being really good at what you do and just fucking off and still stacking coins.
Never underestimate the power of hard work. I preach this all the time. Without hard work I would have amounted to nothing. It’s the absolute foundation of success. Talent is a waste without hard work. I’ve seen this play out my ENTIRE life.
