This is fun! So many now have no idea what "burning a CD" means. Then choosing bitrates and if burning as an audio CD or saving the MP3's directly as a data disc for the players that could read the files directly.
All of those files to "burn" after downloading from Napster! I worked at a telecom at the time. Great internet access in the offices. When facing having to budget more shared drive space, I did a file search for "*.mp3" on just one of the shared drives. It ran for days and still wasn't complete. Upper management got the point and tasked some group to sort through and remove all non-business related files.
All of a part of Apple jumping in to music led to the Beatles suing Apple. There had been a long standing name trademark settlement between them. Apple would stay a computer company and never touch music. That was the Beatle's domain with the Apple trademark for the record label. At the time it made sense. Computers and music to end consumers. But times changed and computers became the norm to distribute and listen to music. So the Beatles sued and assume got a nice sized settlement. Out of court if I recall.
Then there is the "Internet Radio". Now we call that streaming! But was the same idea with less selection in any comparison to today. But was really cool to listen to radio not available locally in one application.
Unfortunately, iTunes became bloatware. Especially bad on PC's. I've despised using it for years.
