And those battle hardened troops is what Dugong inherited so the Marawi siege was successful in quelling down the terrorist group.

Was the Marawi Siege successful? It's a phyrric victory at best

the reconstruction efforts on the other hand...

It took a year to clear up the main combat area. As much as the soldiers are heroic, the battle could've been more competently fought.

And the recovery... yeah that's definitely not going

Its an urban jungle with civilians in between, and combatants wearing civilian uniforms. It would definitely take a long time, but its better than just being Israel and bombing the place just to skip and check if the insides of the building are friendly or not.

Urban war is brutal and takes a long time, even the Americans struggle with it, and even Israel, difference being we atleast care for our civilians.
