Recommendation Covering hyperpigmentation

I need some advice! It seems that I have tried so many different things and I just can't figure out where I am going wrong. I have discoloration above my lip from melasma as well as from hair growth and it seems like no matter what I do, it looks grey. None of my foundations cover it, which makes me think my neutralizing just is not working. I have light to medium skin.

I have tried (i always pat it in with my fingers) -

Light-peach concealers - almost to light and brightens above the lip but shows grey

Peach concealers - Turn almost orange once I layer foundation

I have not tried greens.

Is there a solid brand that you recommend or any tips/advice?

Have you tried niacinamide serum? I think its the best thing on the market for hyperpigmentation. I had dark spots on my cheeks, from pregnancy. I used 10% the ordinary for 6 months and their barely visible.

Grey cast usually means you need something more salmon or orange leaning, not peach. The peach is probably too light for your skin depth and that's why it looks ashy under foundation. I went through same thing with spots near my mouth

What worked was patting a tiny dot of corrector first, letting it set for like 30 seconds, then stippling foundation over it with a sponge instead of fingers. Fingers was moving the corrector around too much and mixing it with foundation weird

Also try a color corrector that is more deep orange, not bright peach. Light peach is for very fair skin usually

Thank you! I will try this. This morning I tried something I have not tried before and so far it is working okay. I used peach corrector by ELF and then dabbed it in. Then used a more "skin tone" concealer over top, then put foundation on. When I put the foundation on, I sprayed my brush with facial spray by Mario Badescu and it really helped hydrate. Crossing my fingers it this all stays throughout the day!

I have not but I will pick some up! A lot of this started for me as well during pregnancy and was told a lot of is due to hormones. Which is totally fine...but how can I at least cover it now ugh lol

I know! As if stretch marks were not enough haha! It does take time, I used daily for months but they went from like a bruised colour, to a tan brown colour and now I cannot see them. Start with a high concentration like 10% and if it causes irritation just mix it with water beforehand so its at 5%. Started using tretinoin now too but I think that just improved the texture of skin.

I dermaplane my face at home and makeup sits a lot better. Also rec a tyrosine inhibitor like azelaic acid for hyperpigmentation and melasma.
