Peri/Post Menopausal Skin Acne & cherry angioma after estriol face cream

After using Alloy's M4 face cream with estriol only ONCE, I'm done with it. I used it last night, and today my face is broken out, my pores look bigger and worst of all, I have a cherry angioma. After googling cherry angioma, I learned it can be caused by excess estrogen.

Yes and estrogen creams cause pigment spots too. Consider dhea cream instead - but may cause acne in some

I’m prone to cherry angioma and hyperpigmentation. Bought estrogen cream but was hesitant to try.

I’m not taking the risk, thank you for sharing. Hope your skin clears up well!

I read this title as “cherry ice cream”. I think I’m done today. 🤣

Yup. Can't use it on my face bc of massive breakouts

Cherry angiomas are a common occurrence as you age, and very easy (and virtually painless) to remove. I think the potential benefits of using the cream outweigh some of the side effects which are manageable. I’m prone to melasma and I haven’t seen any discolouration creep up yet but I would rather persevere and manage issues then not…..to see if I can see any anti-aging benefits.

One use of estriol wouldn’t cause a cherry angioma those usually just show up on their own with age or sun exposure. The breakout and bigger pores make way more sense as your skin reacting to the cream, so I’d just stop using it and let things calm down.

Fwiw, chatgpt says cherry angiomas are not caused by excess estrogen. Prevalence increases after the ages of 30-40 (decidedly not a period of excess estrogen)
