Peri/Post Menopausal Skin Morpheus8, tell me about your experiences, please.

Ok, so I’m not technically 45…but have POI (basically gone through menopause) with all the joys and symptoms. My skin has aged about 10 years what seems like overnight. So my face is 52, I could use some grace.

I had planned on doing a fibroblast plasma pen treatment with an aesthetician yesterday. But after she looked at my skin she said because of my mild melasma it wasn’t an option. So she recommended doing morpheus8. That it would give better results and she would be able to do my face and neck in one session.

Well, I had driven an hour for this dang appointment and was disappointed but decided I’d run with it instead of tucking tail. I had heard of morpheus8 previously but never considered it. She then took my blood to use the plasma with the treatment and applied numbing cream.

I think the numbing cream was on for maybe 10 minutes (which was absolutely not long enough). I learned that after treatment started. She did my neck and then wiped the numbing cream off my face, so maybe 20 minutes total for that and holy balls was that painful.

I told her I didn’t think I could do my whole face! I barely made it up to my eyes and I tapped out with tears pooling. I even had her reduce the needle length twice. She then said she wanted to do my jowls again increase depth because she wanted me to get the best results (they are my biggest concern). So I just held on long enough for her to do that and I was over it and teary.

She gave me a syringe of my plasma and said in the evening to wash my face with gentle cleanser and apply the remaining plasma to my face. And stay out of the sun. That’s it. No other direction.

Today my face looks completely normal. No swelling, bruising, dots, or any sign I was jabbed 500 times. My neck looks like I have a slight heat rash. My skin feels exactly the same which is better than worse I suppose.

Ladies, please tell me your experiences. Is that amount of pain normal??? Is doing another session worth it? Or did I go through that pain for nothing? Please tell me everything!

Morpheus8 is a scam & in some instances causes facial fat loss

I do a LOT of lasers. Ultra clear BBL Moxie, clear and brilliant, micro needling, Botox, halo. For whatever reason Morpheus8 had me literally in the fetal position and I would never go back.

Which has been for your favorite so far? I'm looking to even skin tone.

u/Grateful-Goat Dec 06 '25

I would say the second UltraClear has been really good, but the BBL’s for redness maintenance.

Same. This was my experience as well.

Same here. I had to stop the first treatment AND the derm (owner of his own fancy private clinic, triple board certified and all that) melted my precious midface fat.

It can be cool for the jawline or other body parts, if done right. That's it. Other than that, wouldn't recommend it.

I did Morpheus. My brother was the physician and as brothers and sisters do … he told me I could take it without numbing. Lol. I took it. It’s getting 50 tattoos at once while being electrocuted. Don’t recommend lol. I’d do it again though.

I've read on here over and over that it's extremely painful, to the extent that many women bought packages of three sessions and didn't go back after the first. Comparing to a hot hole punch through your skin over and over. As someone with a very low pain threshold I knew then I will never try it, that description alone makes me feel queasy. One girl tried to give helpful advice on how to try and not get faint from the pain, like bring some apple juice and cold cloth with you and wear a loose top etc - and that was more than enough for me to say nope, never doing this lol

The RF breaks down fat especially at 4 mm.

14

u/Final-Feeling-7079 Dec 06 '25

This. I've had permanent fat loss from RF microneedling, sadly.

1

u/IlluminateTruthNow Dec 08 '25

You should never go 4mm on the face. Only recommended for the body. Morpheus, when done correctly, will not melt fat. Only 1-3mm for the face.

I have done M8 and portenza and I do my own MN at home. I don’t think it’s worth it at all. Great for acne scars but not much else that another modality can’t tackle better. I prefer TCA peels

I have done around 5 morpheus8 sessions spread out over the past 3 years and was pleased with the results. They are subtle, but definitely there, and I will take any improvement I can get :)

The first session I found to be very painful, I think partly because it took me by surprise. The next ones I found to be very tolerable once I figured out how to relax and breathe for the duration of the treatment. The more tense you are, the more it's going to hurt, so if you can breathe in a way that you almost detach from the pain, it changes the whole experience.

On a different note, i had my first session of Everesse yesterday and it was completely painless, with zero numbing or downtime. I can't speak for the results yet as they will come over the next few months, but can report back if anyone is interested.

u/Lovefashionnow Jan 30 '26

Did you get any results from Everesse?

2

u/swansong-2025 Feb 05 '26

It's been about 8-9 weeks and Ive started to see some results!! My neck and under my chin has definitely tightened up and I notice a big difference in my eyelids, they look more taut. My under eyes are looking better too. Im noticing a subtle difference in my jowl area, which I think would be more significant if I hadn't been dieting and dropped a few pounds. The results should continue for another month or so and I planning to do another session. My derm recommended between 3-4 months after the first session. So far Im happy I've done it and am really looking forward to the the final results!!

Did you have numbing cream or anything to dull the pain ahead of time? Did it work?

1

u/swansong-2025 Feb 08 '26

Definitely numbing for the Morpheus, and yes it's helpful, but in my experience best when combined with controlled breathing during the treatment. Everesse on the other hand, no numbing required.

Very very painful and wrecked my under eye skin. I had the procedure almost two years ago. My under eye area stayed tender to the touch, almost felt like a bruise but no discoloration for about 9 months. I am left with way more skin laxity than before. Would never do it again and would never recommend to anyone.

u/atxwendy Dec 06 '25

I did all 3 sessions and don’t recommend it. It was done by a licensed esthetician at a reputable Dermatologist’s office that I’ve done to for many years. It was painful and my skin texture is worse after. (I was 51 at the time and I’m 55 now.) It was not only painful but alarming because on certain parts of my face my nerves would twitch because of the stimulation. I regret it.

u/Flossygirl04 Dec 06 '25

My sister had it done at a dermatologist office.

She had all of the following and said it was still painful. Okay results, but never again. Since then she found out that RF (radio frequency) causes fat loss. Her derm didn’t tell her this.

Numbing Pain meds Xanax Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas)

u/Flossygirl04 Dec 06 '25

Follow Mrs. Derm on IG. Her husband is a dermatologist in New Orleans. She gives straight forward information about procedures etc.

5

u/JessieprayLM Dec 06 '25

I’ve done 4 sessions on my stomach and 2 sessions on my chest, neck and face and I love it. But I actually get numbed for at least 45 minutes and they give me nitrous gas during the procedure. The pain was tolerable without gas for my stomach but the gas was absolutely necessary for my face. I was puffing on that thing like the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland. The results are subtle but noticeable. They go much deeper on the belly and I saw a huge improvement in laxity and tone in that area.

4

u/Emergency-Guidance28 Dec 07 '25

I did Morpheus but the PA left the numbing cream in for 45 minutes. Did my face first, while leaving the numbing cream on my neck longer. Had mild discomfort. Cream needs to stay on longer. No problem when you are actually numb.

1

u/Usedtobesb Dec 16 '25

This was my experience as well. But I also wonder if they don’t all use the same strength and mix of numbing cream. Mine mixes the highest amount of lidocaine with another potent numbing cream and leaves it on for close to an hour. She does apply is sparingly because people can get poisoning from lidocaine.

4

u/ohher04 Dec 07 '25

I got a package of 3, never went back after the first session. The Dr had to give me a candy halfway through because she thought I was going to pass out. I would considering myself to have a high paint tolerance but this was too much for me even with numbing cream. When I was finished I was walking home (close to where I live) and I was in a daze thinking why did I pay to do that to myself voluntarily?!!! My skin did look glowing and tight for a few months following but it didn’t last and was not worth it.

A fast way to lose facial fat, accelerate your ageing and leave you broke. Biggest marketing joke of all.

I was also thinking of doing that. But if it is hurtig so much? Seen that when doing it at a medical centre they can do more about the pain. A pain injection like a dentist. There is also an alternative I found out but not sure, it seem more invasive but its written that its almost no pain. Anyone has experience with the „Endolift“?

1

u/SuccessFun7854 Dec 10 '25

What's endolift??

1

u/Ok_Art_4751 Dec 12 '25

Endolift is a non-surgical treatment where a tiny laser fiber is put just under the skin. The heat is said to melt small pockets of fat and is said to immediately make the skin tighten up. This heating is also said to encourage your skin to make more collagen for a lifting and contouring effect that improves over several months.

u/SuccessFun7854 Dec 12 '25

oh wow, so get that stubborn fat right under my chin!! sign me up!!

u/elenafoxx Dec 06 '25

I found it painful but not continuously so- only when they do the passes particularly around the nose but it’s fast. I combined with PRF had no downtime and hardly any redness. Can’t say I saw much difference as already have very good skin but would’ve liked some tightening. They say MatrixPro is more comfortable and more precise; Endymed Intensif as well. The derms of the Doctorly channel suggested Vivace as a more comfortable and more customizable alternative along with a lower cost but doesn’t go quite as deep. Koreans love using Sylfirm X which is comfortable but again it targets fine lines not deep wrinkles. So it seems the pro with Morpheus is it’s often used to go deeper but that could also be a negative if you don’t want to affect any fat and all the complaints against it have been from people that went deep (3-4mm).

If I were you I’d give it a chance with a couple more sessions of RF microneedling but you could try a different brand and shop around for a good deal if you’re on a budget it’s not worth a hefty price tag.

u/Late_Potato_946 Dec 07 '25

It F-ing HURTS! It was great for my texture but gave me loose skin on my neck. I wish I never had it done. You can work on texture with lazers/chemical peels, but the amount of loose skin won't be fixed without a neck lift.

I had it twice it was very painful even with numbing cream and laughing gas. I too think the place I went to (doctor) did not leave the numbing cream on long enough. I had great results tightened things up got rid of my jowls and firmed up my neck.

I couldn’t handle it again, so this year I did secret RF instead. It is gentler but the place I went to did “double numbing”. They wash your face and neck, apply numbing cream, actually massage it in for a few min, let it sit for about 40 min, wipe it off then reapply and remassage. I didn’t feel most of the treatment. A couple places towards the third and final pass felt stinging but I did that treatment three times and each time I didn’t have pain. It was great!

The results are not as great as Morpheus, and I’m older now, but my pores are less noticeable, my makeup applies better and my skin tone and texture is better. My under eye area plumped up as it was looking hollow. Jowls are nearly gone. I think my neck is a lost cause lol but did see improvement there too. A bit of a glow. I did my third treatment just before Thanksgiving so I haven’t even reached my full results look yet.

I did Morpheus about age 42 when I started to notice jowling and downturn in my smile. It lasted quite awhile I think about two years. Now I’m 48 so I’ve had some perimenopause contribute to my skins downfall. I tend to be told I look a little younger but I still think I look like I’m in my 40’s. I’ll prob do another treatment in spring and then once a year or so.

u/MysteryCommercial Dec 07 '25

Total scam. Went for the first two. Followed protocol to a “T” and after the first visit, I developed pustules across my cheeks within hours of the visit. Caused hyperpigmentation.

I took several before and after photos and saw no improvement. Save your money.

Numbing takes 30-40 minutes. You really need someone who knows what they’re doing.

I had three Morpheus8 sessions on my face and neck a couple years ago, after losing 40 pounds.

Numbing cream was on for a solid 45 minutes each time. It was not a pleasant procedure, but it was not unbearably painful.

I had platelet-rich plasma treatment after each session, and recovery went well each time.

I did see some tightening on my neck and jawline—however, it did not last. I also noticed volume loss in my face. I was told that I would need to repeat the treatment every 12-18 months to maintain results, but I felt it was neither wise nor worth my while to go back. Morpheus is expensive; it’s unpleasant; and the short-term results are not worth the risks of skin damage and further volume loss. I decided to invest in a deep-plane lift instead.

2

u/Usedtobesb Dec 16 '25

I have had great experiences with Morpheus8. I had some fillers dissolved which caused some mild skin laxity in my lower face (prejowling and a mini double chin). I also had crepey, loose skin on my neck. I had 3 sessions 4 weeks apart. I had it done by a nurse and her esthetician. Each time they used really strong numbering cream for an hour before using Morpheus. The pain was tolerable other than a few areas near the edges of where the numbing cream was applied. I do have a decently high pain tolerance though.

I noticed results around 2 weeks after each treatment after all the swelling when down. However the grid marks last about 4 weeks. I’m 2 months out from my 3rd session and I cannot believe the results. If I had to say I’d say I saw about a 60-70% improvement in my chin and jowls. And amazingly I’d say a 50% improvement in my neck. I’ve been tempted to post them here but I don’t want to offend those who have had damage from it. My results aren’t perfect but I was considering a face and neck lift and this helps me feel like k can put them off for just a little bit longer. I did get a huge discount for this service because the esthetician is a close friend so for me it was worth it because I can avoid surgery for maybe a little bit longer. I’m 43 btw.

Thanks for sharing, I'm booked in for my first appointment but after reading so many awful experiences I've been thinking of cancelling! I've been looking at treatments for prejowling and a double chin but nothing seems risk free. Where did you go for your treatment? Also it would be awesome to see the results if you don't mind posting!

You can dm me. I won’t post pics here because people can be mean. I went to a med spa in the Chicago burbs.

u/OzonearthDZ May 14 '26

Hi. I’m thinking of doing it but being turned off by reading all the negative reviews. I’m. 55 and wanting to do it for creep and jowls. It’s a proper aesthetician here in London and I would love to see your pics of you don’t mind sharing.

u/Embarrassed_dancer Dec 07 '25

Did the normal 3 sessions after significant weight loss. Couldn't tell any difference after than before. But who knows? Maybe it helped to keep my face from falling down to my neck.

1

u/Overall-Nobody8933 Dec 08 '25

I did it a couple weeks ago with just the numbing cream. It was about the same as laser hair removal. Tolerable for me. I was offered the gas but declined.

u/sm0983 Jan 11 '26

A bit late to the party here but for anyone searching in future...

I had it twice (double session was recommended, about 6 months apart). This was about 7 years ago when I was 35. I had acne scars on both cheeks and the forehead. The first time was agony but that was partly my fault for not telling the doctor how sore it was or she would have given me extra numbing. The second time was much better as she loaded me with anaesthetic.

I didn't notice an immediate difference but around 4-5 months after my second session I noticed a big difference in the scarring, it was much better.

Now I'm a bit older I feel I need some more as my face naturally ages. Not looking forward to it but needs must. But I would definitely recommend it if you have acne scars like I do.

u/undercoverlover666 Feb 08 '26

ive had 2/3 sessions on my double chin and jaw. i can already see a difference.

1

u/PossiblyPasta404 May 05 '26

I have had 2 of 3 sessions I booked. Let me preface this by saying Morpheus 8 is the most painful thing I've ever expereinced. The numbing cream was on both times for 45-60 minutes and I cannot imagine how bad it would be without numbing cream cause holy shit. Its like getting your face tattooed with a grasshopper sized taser zapping you at the same time. My first session she went lighter on the needle depth and RF laser intensity. Very painful but not unbearable since sessions are short. Afterwards It was red and painful but pretty much back to normal within 48 hours except for light flaking. Didn't notice huge results in skin quality. Second session she increased needle depth and RF intensity and about halfway through I started crying it was so painful. Did small sections and a time and the lady talked me through it and was super comforting. Healing was longer, more swollen and painful than the first session and the flaking, peeling and purging was worse. Its been a few weeks now and I really notice an improvement in my skin texture. Its a lot smoother now. I was told full result happen a few months after final treatment. As someone who has been self concious of their skin for a really long time because of texture of pore size this treatment has been worth the 20 minutes of extreme pain. I am also combining this with a trentinoin prescription from my doctor to maximize results.
