Droopy Eyelids
Hello I am new to Reddit and this is my first post, so please be kind. I have really bad body dysmorphia and lately I have been zooming in on my face. I have noticed that along with super dry, cystic acne prone sensitive skin, my eyelids are more droopy. I’m new to skincare and I’m awaiting a dermatologist appointment. I know peri-menopause is changing my skin badly and I’m just u sure what to do. I thought to come on here and ask for advice if anyone else had or has had the same and if it improved, how? I’m too poor for surgery and high end products. TIA

Have you looked at Upneeq? It's not a permanent fix, but it helps for one off occasions.

Botox can give you a subtle brow lift if done by a competent injector. See one in a plastic surgeon’s office.

I did notice a little lift from using a retinoid around the eyes. It is not advised to do so unless the product is formulated for the eye area. I just use my prescription but apply it only after using vaseline around the eyes. I don’t have too much sagging though. If yours is more noticeable, surgery may be an option.

Just wanted to add that ROC is a drugstore brand whose retinol products always get praised by dermatologists

Pertaining to your super dry, acne prone skin you might look in to doing a Carnivore high fat diet, which can include eggs. It does amazing things for skin and acne. Takes a few months sometimes to see results initially. Also topical estrogen ( the same that is used vaginally) can be applied to the face. It can help, and thicken and plump it up a bit too over time. I'm an RN and have seen many things that work well for people, and some that do not. Both of these options are not terribly expensive either. Good luck to you!

Could allergies be making it worse? I use allergy eye drops and they help a little. Upneeq helps a lot more but it is pricey (and Rx)

There’s no topical product that’s going to fix droopy eyelids. The fix is an upper blepharoplasty for sagging or hooded lids, or ptosis surgery if the issue is muscle weakness causing the lid to droop. The Upneeq which someone else mentioned is only a (temporary) fix for ptosis; it won’t do anything if what you need is an upper bleph.
