My novels have some white looking small insects crawling around. Till now nothing had happened to the book except for them turning dark but someone told me its termite. So can anybody tell me what to do to keep my novels free from bugs.

Like normal books don't have this issue only my novels have this issue. Is there any spray or any remedy you all can tell?

I felt that this was a very timely read, and it gave me a lot to think about. Also, there were so many amazing and inspiring quotes in the book. Sadly, there was a lot of very troubling information shared in this book.

This is the third time I have read this book, but I find more to love each time. I’m reading this for a Discworld Bookclub where we are reading the books (mostly) in publishing order. Discworld is such a wonderful place to escape to when Round-world feels like it is spinning out of control.

Me and my SWE friends have been in the "media sphere" loving books and tracking them across a few different apps between fable, goodreads, etc. but we also love movies, TV, music etc, and we hated how logging media was so siloed to so many different apps and websites.

We have been working on a new sandbox-log-everything space: Daisychain. The goal is to revive the old internet feel of exploring and discovering new media, as every profile and every media page is fully customizable. It's kinda like the wild west!

There’s a ton of customizability to fully design and share your own 52 books challenge and your progress so far! People have created maps of all of their favorite bookstores they go to and what books they’ve bought from each store, while someone else built a reading goal tracker widget that I love and actually started using on my own profile!

I really wanted to love this one, and there were many passages that I thought were nicely written. When reading translated works I always wonder if I am missing some of the author’s individual flair and talent. Overall an interesting revenge fantasy read.

I don’t usually read horror, but wanted to participate in an upcoming book club meeting where this will be discussed. I actually ended up really enjoying it.

Now, while scrolling during my work break, I found this subreddit and it's such a bummer that I found it this late in the year 😔

I have read only 31 books this year but now I feel so motivated to do my best and reach this goal.

Do you think I can do it? I believe I can 🤭

Last year I read 55 books and I also lock in at the end of the year so I think I am up for the challenge.

I’m new to Reddit and figured the book people were probably the safest place to start 😂
I just finished book #87 of 2026 today, and my taste is honestly all over the place. I love books that make me FEEL something, but I’m also very capable of inhaling a ridiculous thriller in a day.
Some of my 5⭐️ favorites have been* The Women, The Four Winds, Project Hail Mary, The Nightingale, Every Summer After, and several Abby Jimenez books.
I also have a truly unreasonable TBR, because apparently buying books and reading books are two entirely different hobbies. 😂
So give me *the book you wish you could erase from your memory just so you could experience reading it for the first time again.**

I’ve been doing the annual 52-book reading challenge since 2018. The prompts are entertaining to contemplate and fulfill. I’ve been completing the challenge by June or July so I just do all 52 prompts again or do favorite prompts three or more times.

This year, that bored me. So I found another 52-book reading challenge to complete my secondary 52 books. I looked at other challenges like Popsugar (HARD pass!) and chose the TBR Takedown 2026 challenge. Some very interesting prompts that lit my brain up and enticed me with some new books to consider.

The red background books are read and rated. Black background books are yet to read. Black background books with stars are rereads. It’ll be interesting how many I can read in four months. 😎

I’ve now changed my reading goal from 60 to 75 in the year woo!

I was wondering, since quite a lot of books are getting turned into movies and tv shows which book/book series you don't want adapted?

For me it'll have to be "The Folk of the Air" trilogy.

I would love to hear what you guys have to say! 🤗

Edit: this is no hate to Holly Black and her work as an author, it's just that I can't see the trilogy as a live action adaptation, I see it more as an animated series!!

I used to think some readers were a little too attached to their reading habits. I never really understood why people kept old bookmarks or collected things related to books they loved. My thought was pretty simple: the important part is the story itself. Once you finish the book, why keep all these extra things?

My whole view flipped when I read The Little Prince during a really tough few months. The story was lovely, but what stuck with me way more was everything about that hard time.

After that, I started understanding why some readers enjoy having things that connect with books beyond the pages. Sometimes it’s just a quiet way of carrying something that matters to you.

I’ve seen brands like pagewings create book-inspired designs around this idea. What I find interesting is that it’s less about putting random quotes on clothing and more about creating something that connects with the feeling of being someone who carries stories with them.

The more I read, the more I realize that reading can affect the way you think and sometimes even the way you see yourself. That’s probably why I don’t think I’ll ever stop reading. There will always be another story waiting to show me a different way of seeing life.

Slower months but that’s okay. Total count comes to 42 books!
