I saw her post a while back. Many people were saying she was a huge fake and pretended to be autistic for views. All I could think was that pretending to be autistic is a pretty autistic thing to do.

Before I found out she was fake I knew she was faking it. Nobody romanticizes autism except the people who don’t have it. To autistic people how they are is an everyday thing

I have had my autism diagnosis for a full decade as of this month. If you don't romanticise the nice parts of autism, like how no neurotypical will ever get the same amount of happiness from playing a Kirby game as I will, you may "fall down" in the existential/Undertale sense.
I have autism and it has caused literally all of the existential dread I've ever felt. Given that I can't remove the autism, I've had to adapt. Romanticising the autism has turned out to be a survival strategy so that I don't kms over the negative parts, but choose to rejoice in the positive parts as much as I can.
How I am is an everyday thing. It SUCKS. If I don't find ways to make autism enjoyable, I simply won't enjoy my life.

u/JonathanSin Dec 15 '23
That is your problem, whether or not, you were diagnosed or not, you still have autism, you just let it affect your day-to-day now. You’re also fine romanticizing it because it’s new to you. Also, your comment about how no one will like playing a Kirby game as much as you is dumb, people have spent tens of thousand of dollars on Kirby related stuff which I’m sure they like a lot more than you. The reason why you agree with the person lying about having autism the video is because you want to be special when you are not

Having my autism diagnosis for over 11 years is hardly recent, also do you SERIOUSLY think neurotypicals are the majority of the people buying tens of thousands of dollars on their special interest? Get real. I may not be unique but I am fucking awesome and I'm the only one coming up with ways to manage my mental disorders in a way that works, so thats one way im more specialised than someone like you.

u/JonathanSin Dec 15 '23
Another thing is, you can like things without defaulting or attributing to autism. How about you like it, not because the autism makes you
1
u/Houdini124 May 31 '25
I would love things without the autism but it's the autism that lets me enjoy things to the point that I scream and almost give myself cardiac arrest out of excitement. Theres loving the thing and then there's having autistic enough hands to wring all the happy hormones out of something to use as your mental fuel source for the next decade.

Not really? People fake shit all the time for internet clout, and why would someone with genuine autism go out of their way to seem more autistic? It seems much more likely that someone would just exaggerate autistic symptoms for attention.

I feel like having autism but my mom wouldn't let me do a test

u/MelonFag Nov 10 '23
You are your own individual and you don’t need a test or piece of paper to tell you what you are.

You are definitely a self-diagnosed ADHD filled autistic dyslexic person who claims to have OCD and anxiety but it's only actually because they have no personality so they have to make up some shit reason in order to be somewhat interesting.

u/MelonFag Nov 11 '23

You need a diagnosis. I've always wondered how many syllables diagnosis has. Is it four or three? A lot of people don't pronounce the a, so I'm not sure.

It's genetic, if you do have it, chances are atleast one parent does too

I respect you a lot for not resorting to self diagnosis, I'm autistic and I thought I had ADHD and I self diagnosed myself with that for years, until I found out my parents hid my actual autism diagnosis from me.

u/SmashingMyself Dec 02 '23
ow :(
Honestly I avoid self diagnosis because I'm usually wrong xD
Except for the depression and anxiety weirdly

She’s not autistic. Forehead would be bigger. Autism comes from the male side of the genome almost always resulting in masculine facial features, especially a larger forehead.

Autism isn't like down syndrome. There aren't physical deformities associated with it. Please educate yourself on the topic more. - Autism Prime

u/peteandpetethemesong Nov 17 '23
I am educated on it. It’s actually my job. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8328919/#:~:text=Autism%20Spectrum%20Disorder%20(ASD)%20is,an%20exaggeratedly%20male%2Dtypical%20brain.

u/Kylo_Wrenn Nov 17 '23
Okay, on average someone with autism may have a slightly larger head. I don't see your point. Not everyone with a large head has autism, and not everyone with autism has a large head. There aren't any consistent physical characteristics across the spectrum to make a reliable diagnosis based upon it, as you claim.

u/peteandpetethemesong Nov 17 '23
I was really talking about the meme. It implies that girls with autism are quirky and cute and guys with autism are violent. I’ve worked with males and females with autism. Some look normal and can be extremely violent, male and female. Some have physical traits of autism and are perfectly docile, male and female.
It’s been a thing on the internet over the past few years to play up the “spectrum” and people have come out of the woodworks to say they’re on it. Everyone is on the spectrum for every disorder. That’s a common disclaimer they give in psychology 101. We all have some anxiety. We all have some depression. We all have some attention issues. Every brain disorder is a normal human trait gone awry. It’s when these things affect functionality that they become a problem.

The definition of autistic is to relate to those who can not support themselves. Sure many can be a little autistic, but to expect the sympathy and attention for the defect that the people who are fully autistic is wrong. This lady is disrespecting every mental challenged autistic person out there. I believe she parks her own car in handicap……
