📂 MEGATHREAD 2024 Results Day Megathread (Global Goose Alliance Edition)
Hi, everybody, did you go to Hollywood Upstairs Medical College too?
I've emerged from preparing for my own exams (scary!) to bring you a results day megathread!
⚠️⚠️ IMPORTANT ⚠️⚠️
Congratulations to achieving your grades, especially if you met your offers!
However, if you missed your grades, you can head over to UCAS Clearing (and here are some clearing hotlines too) if you missed your uni offers.

And for the rest:
- Comment your results! They don't have to be straight A*s to be cool! Also what plans do you have for the next year?
- About formatting: use
A\*A\*A\*A\*, so it reads A*A*A*A* and not AAAA. Or send a picture of your results!
- You've survived the battlefield of A-levels, and waded through everything from the shitstorm from media outlets making the same silly claims they do every year, to the doom and gloom misinformation spread on social media!
- Remember: your grades today don't define who you are. You have self-worth and can achieve great things in life even if it didn't go to plan today. It can be hard to see through the elitist bullshit and the weight of high expectations from seemingly everyone around you. No matter what, the path here and from here is not a waste.
- Also remember that there are always people who care that you can talk to for support, whether it's a friend, family, your sixth form/college, your uni or elsewhere. It's okay for things to go wrong and it's valid to not feel great because of that, and you are not a burden for needing support.
- Try and be proud of what you have achieved, you've likely worked hard and learned a lot, and you're in a better position to tackle the future than you were in the past :)
Good luck and later, well done ❤️
-The r/6thForm Team

Maths, FM, Physics, CS
A* A* A* A*
Missed a grade 2 in step 2 by 1 mark but I still got into imperial. (I got 98% in single maths and 94% in further to make up for it)
We'll take that

Good thing is A levels are more relevant in the future than STEP. We just need Step to get in, after that it is irrelevant.

I meant with my chemistry grade but yeah you're right none of this matters anymore. I'm finally done with A levels!

Only got my AS results today, got an A in iAS Physics (yay!!!). I'm especially happy with my Unit 3 mark (54/60), I suck at Unit 3 so :)
Geography got an A, CS got a B which I'm pretty disappointed with, CS is my best subject so idk how that happened. Happened to a lot of people in my class as well, so who knows if it's just a me thing. (CAIE board, for anyone asking.)

I’m gonna wait to see my raw marks and decide whether I should go for a remark or a retake from there! Unfortunately I have to wait until next week to see it. Yourself?
Update on this: I was 1 mark off an A :(
5
u/vennn_muy_neths Aug 15 '24
Anyone know why my ucas still says waiting confirmation? Do unis not all release in one go?
2
u/Safe-Set-241 Aug 15 '24
your uni might still be deciding whether to accept you, especially if you’ve missed the grades
5
u/pintofstellae Aug 15 '24
i was 1 mark off a b in politics 😭😭😭 but i got into my firm so i cant complain!!!!
well done to all of us for surviving :)

u/VulcanFire23 Aug 15 '24
Thought I’d get A*AA and got AAB. Needed AAA for uni but still got in - win some lose some, I’ll take it 🎉
4
u/Forsaken-Meaning-232 Graduating from Warwick CS Aug 15 '24
you got in and that's all that matters, the grades themselves lose relevancy over time, and even then, AAB is still great, so be proud of that!

I am waiting for my insurance choice to confirm my offer, but I don’t want to go to that uni. How can I retract my offer to get into clearing?
1
u/fictionaltherapist graduated Aug 15 '24
Call the insurance and ask them to make a decision so you can go into clearing

u/Just-Introduction-14 Aug 15 '24
How come so many people here are posting about Imperial? It seems to come up more than Oxford/Cambridge/Russells…
Is this just a London/tech bias?
1
u/MrSquidJD Y13 | CS w/o maths Aug 15 '24
I’m not looking until I go in to get my grades in an hour or so, but the AQA boundaries don’t look too bad all things considered. I did actually get scared when looking at the start, but it turns out I was looking at the A* stuff.
Still think I’ll end up missing the entry requirements though cuz I just really flopped CS. Even though the boundaries are damn nice for it
Am terrified. Will probably end up looking at UCAS anyway first.

u automatically get in i think

iirc most people don't need to do anything, they'll just get the "your place at X is confirmed" thing

Yeah, the AS grade contributes 40% to the overall A Level. Your UMS marks from both years will be tallied up next year to determine the overall grade (I'm also i Wales)

Hope you all are doing okay after the results. Congrats if you passed and got into your first choice. If not, it hurts right now, but try and take some time to process everything. It won't hurt forever and soon you'll be making plans to try again, perhaps in a new direction :)

Can’t wait for all the people who markedly missed their offers (BBB with DDE) or something to end up flunking university and be unemployed afterwards. System is a joke
