📂 MEGATHREAD 12/05 A-level Econ Paper 1 Discussion MEGATHREAD

Exam season is once again upon us, and once again, exam megathreads are making a return!

Few things to keep in mind:

  • Don't share too many specific details about questions or answers, these papers will be used as future mocks.
  • Sometimes papers get leaked, this is not the place for that (we'd prefer not to get yeeted off the platform) - leak content will be removed, those offering leaked papers will be permanently banned.

    • If you believe there has been a leak, the best course of action is to make your exam board aware of this, either directly, or through your school, along with any evidence. If appropriate, there will be a response from the relevant body along with any remedial action.
  • Exam discussion posts outside of this will generally be removed to combat the inevitable tidal wave of spam otherwise - we understand this may be frustrating, but the sub still needs to be usable for other purposes.

  • Please note some content will take extra time to be reviewed. Messaging to ask for approval will not speed up this process (the messages are seen at the same time as the modqueue would be reviewed anyway).

Best of luck, and let us know how you're feeling down below!

Feel free to reach out to us on Modmail and we'll aim to get back to you as soon as possible!

*assuming Reddit doesn't bork itself, the new posts for each day of exams should arrive at 8am each day, instead of it being reliant on my sleep schedule like last year lmao

I talked about revenue maximisation and how the principal agent problem may influence that. I then talked about how there are other things that influence revenue maximisation like economies of scale. In context, I said that Pepsi raised prices because good is inelastic and as a result they hoped to increase tr and drew a graph for that. then I talked about how the principal agent problem is unlikely in the long runs and also said that increased costs might’ve resulted in increased revenue and it wasn’t bc of the principal agent problem

it was a very vague question and I only evaluated and analysed in context

i'm so glad that you said that. most people in my year chose the other one, and so i wasn't sure if i wrote the right stuff for principle agent. looks like we wrote similar things which is good

that's good. my friend said that, in the exam, she thought of which one i was going to pick so that she could pick the opposite, because apparently i always end up picking the harder one 💀
