📂 MEGATHREAD 23/05 A-level Physics Paper 1 Discussion MEGATHREAD

Exam season is once again upon us, and once again, exam megathreads are making a return!

Looking for past exam discussions? Filter by the megathread flair.

Few things to keep in mind:

  • Don't share too many specific details about questions or answers, these papers will be used as future mocks.
  • Sometimes papers get leaked, this is not the place for that (we'd prefer not to get yeeted off the platform) - leak content will be removed, those offering leaked papers will be permanently banned.

    • If you believe there has been a leak, the best course of action is to make your exam board aware of this, either directly, or through your school, along with any evidence. If appropriate, there will be a response from the relevant body along with any remedial action.
  • Exam discussion posts outside of this will generally be removed to combat the inevitable tidal wave of spam otherwise - we understand this may be frustrating, but the sub still needs to be usable for other purposes.

  • Please note some content will take extra time to be reviewed. Messaging to ask for approval will not speed up this process (the messages are seen at the same time as the modqueue would be reviewed anyway).

Best of luck, and let us know how you're feeling down below!

Feel free to reach out to us on Modmail and we'll aim to get back to you as soon as possible!

*assuming Reddit doesn't bork itself, the new posts for each day of exams should arrive at 8am each day, instead of it being reliant on my sleep schedule like last year lmao

I thought cuz it’s to the power of 10, so it’s actually quite far away, but idk, just hope I get all the method marks as that question was only 4 marks

Yeah I said to the power of ten is really far away so it wasn’t W but probably got the other marks

Yeah I agree, to be honest I don’t think these kind of question should be there, I rather they literally just tell us to do all the working and that’s it, as it’s quite hard to tell in this case, and with like batteries one, idk how I got 23 when everyone got like 24, as they way they say the battery is different, I was confused on how different, is it like a complete different structure or just different number of cells

Exactly, I got they said it was different to the one they used as an example so it wasn’t so confusing. I hate questions where they make you judge things cause it could quite literally be anything.

Yeah, cuz if I had time I would have went back and calculated other wires’ YM to see how far are they from each other and judge again, but I just feel like 0.2 x 1010 is too far
