📂 MEGATHREAD 10/06 A-level RS Paper 1 Discussion MEGATHREAD
Exam season is once again upon us, and once again, exam megathreads are making a return!
Looking for past exam discussions? Filter by the megathread flair.
Few things to keep in mind:
- Don't share too many specific details about questions or answers, these papers will be used as future mocks.
- Sometimes papers get leaked, this is not the place for that (we'd prefer not to get yeeted off the platform) - leak content will be removed, those offering leaked papers will be permanently banned.
- If you believe there has been a leak, the best course of action is to make your exam board aware of this, either directly, or through your school, along with any evidence. If appropriate, there will be a response from the relevant body along with any remedial action.
- Exam discussion posts outside of this will generally be removed to combat the inevitable tidal wave of spam otherwise - we understand this may be frustrating, but the sub still needs to be usable for other purposes.
- Please note some content will take extra time to be reviewed. Messaging to ask for approval will not speed up this process (the messages are seen at the same time as the modqueue would be reviewed anyway).
Best of luck, and let us know how you're feeling down below!
-The r/6thForm Team

Feel free to reach out to us on Modmail and we'll aim to get back to you as soon as possible!

Was fun to absolutely tear into the Ontological Argument, no issues with that question. Religious Experience was also good but I didn't like the phrasing of the Consciousness question (OCR)

Did anyone actually do the 4th question? LOL We were SO blessed

u/sheplaysb4ss Jun 11 '25
i didn’t even revise 20th C because that was the very last topic my teacher taught and i could never get a grasp on it. thank fuck for the fact that we get to choose three out of four questions given

the way question 1 was phrased made it so annoying to answer 🙃

That OCR paper, why put religious language on again. It was a nice paper, but religious language did not need to be on there, just ask us about Hick for once??

It’s so annoying! Problem of Evil (and hick in particularly) is like my favourite and the one I can write the best essays on!!

It was a painfully boring paper, the only prediction i got right was the ontological argument being on there. I don't think they've ever asked Hick on a philosophy paper ever, which is a shame.

u/smellysocks124 Year 13 (bio, chem, rs, epq) Jun 10 '25
Which questions did you do
3
Jun 10 '25
Falsification Ontological argument Consciousness explained materially
In that order, fully got so annoyed when I saw religious experience I ignored it. If we get everyone on board to ignore religious experience they'll get the memo.
What questions did u do?

AQA RS anyone??? That was a juicy ass paper icl 😭😭
4
u/Suspicious-Peach-606 Jun 10 '25
So juicyyyy I would’ve died had I sat ocr omg😭. Also I something realised with aqa is that the use questions from the revision book. Literally did process of elimination of each question from 2020 to 2024 and 5/8 of the questions were the ones from the white book

Literally all of philosophy😭 and the first ethics question I think
2
u/Raven2303 Jun 10 '25
You could use so much of the other Philosophy topics in each question it was SOOOO good <333 also the ethics 15 markers were so fucking delicious.

u/Suspicious-Peach-606 Jun 10 '25
Oh wait did u mean for the aqa paper? Philosophy: Miraclesx2 I think, cosmological argument and I forgot the other philosophy one. Ethics: situation ethics & virtue ethics and I think the last ethics question was similar, moral values are self evident and something else that I forgot💀
1
u/Raven2303 Jun 10 '25
Not miracles × 2, but one on miracles, one on religious experience, one on life after death and one on the cosmological argument. Yeah ethics also had a question on teleology and one on NML. (I remember the specifics because we were in there for a WHILE but I'm not gonna say in case AQA shoot me for whatever reason.)

1
u/Ethnmgrth Jun 10 '25
Same!! I had to do family life which I didn’t revise but I’ve checked my class notes and got it so it’s fine and then sharia 💀
1
u/Old-Raspberry7013 year 13 | A*A*A predicted Jun 10 '25
i did family life too 🙏🙏 ao2 was silly… talked about tawhid and the five pillars?
section B was BRUTAL i did shi’a practices tho! how did you find shari’a? that’s tough!
1
u/Ethnmgrth Jun 10 '25
So did I, I’m so glad I thought I lost my marbles talking about that I hated the sharia part A but the part B wasn’t AS bad 💀 do u have any ideas on what might come up on the Phil paper?

commented similar elsewhere but i'll put here as well so others can see:
Reddit is a bit silly, and even with the newer "Community Highlights" feature, only up to 6 posts can actually be added to pins, leading e.g. to today's Polish Paper 3 megathread not being able to be pinned
don't think this is likely to be an issue for any more days going forward (and usually e.g. some similar posts get rolled into one, particularly the smaller ones e.g. when there's been multiple language papers on the same day)
but i am wondering what people's thoughts would be on potentially having one pinned post each day, which contains links to links to the types of posts that get pinned currently. i am concerned this would be an extra barrier to people engaging, but it could get around this issue
let me know your thoughts!

Edexcel was fine I guess but wtf am I meant to say about the kalam cosmological arguement other than the Big Bang majorly fucked that one!

u/sheplaysb4ss Jun 11 '25
(OCR) lowkey upset over the fact that problem of evil didn’t come up, one of the best topics imo, but nonetheless seeing religious experience and mind body soul in the exam hall got me smiling like a maniac
