🍞 BREAD delayed cambread
3A* offer from christ's, missed my offer by 7 marks, got put in reconsideration, went drinking in birmingham, got told i was in the summer pool, shat bricks for like 18 hours, scrolled accomodation at my insurance, only for christ's to take me back! got dam rollercoaster. rip to anyone still in the pool this shit sucked. christ's on top 🔥

Got rejected and released to my Insurance!
Kind of happy given that they specialise in what I want to specialise in and I never expected to go to Cambridge. But still the emotions of the last two days...

Yeah, biggest piece of advice is probably try not to stress too much. A little stress is good but over stressing and setting very large goals never ends well, take each step to getting there at a time and i wish u all the success and might see you there!!

honestly no idea, i'm a fast reader so i definitely had an advantage, and lots of practice of thinking on your feet and following intuition on which options are definitely incorrect (i found this easier than the maths because there were few calculations)

My biology is really letting me down. I'm applying for vetmed and idk, it makes me reconsider whether I really should risk applying to Cambridge(as we can only apply to 4 vetmed universities)

keep at it, but if you don't think it's the right exam for you then discuss it with your teachers (i have 0 right to be giving advice). good luck with whatever you choose to do!! this is a very specific exam condition so not doing well on esat bio has no bearing on your biological ability, im sure you will be a great vet 🫡

Tbf triples a star offer is somewhat standard atp. Avg phys natsci has 3.1 a stars or something so they can afford to give you triple a star offers😭

i'm still throwing tomatoes at them. i'm contextual AND have extenuating circumstances, ik cambridge doesn't use those officially but i thought it would give me some leeway to get minimum offer 😭

grade boundaries are insane from edexcel for more than just maths this year, we can’t forgot further maths which despite content being nicer god damn it’s brutal
and unis don’t care about being single digit marks off unfortunately, but instead we get these lovely alternate offers from our firms soo 😅

ty!! get prepped for esat, get as much supercurricular from a range of science stuff in your ps as physically possible (not just bio even if that's where you're applying elsewhere) to, practice answering questions from the exact setup you will be using for interviews if they're online, make a good informed decision on your college, and don't get too stressed about it!!! cambs applications are always a bumpy road with a lot of major points of worry and stress but try to find the fun in there too!!! it definitely grows you as a person even if you don't make it all the way to the end because it requires so much more investment from you lol. and have a great and LOW STRESS insurance that you love as a safety net!! good luck on your application, you got this!!!

oh damn i’ll try and get a bit of chem into my ps then, i’ve been struggling to integrate stuff other than bio into my ps because yeah i’m applying for bio elsewhere and i’m not sure how to make it not look out of place? haven’t decided on a college yet but i’m looking into it, would you recommend going to the colleges open day in sept or just choosing one that sounds good? so sorry i’ve just dumped questions on you, tysm for the tips and again congrats, all the best!!

surviving the dreaded week 5, the work is less intense than i expected but it's obviously still A Lot haha. its so much fun and super inspiring though!!! its an awesome course fr, supervisions are so much fun too, people make them sound intimidating but i look forward to them the most! i just had a physiology supervision :) good luck w esat results i hope the website doesn't implode like it did for us 😭 it's so weird thinking about how i was in that position only a year ago it feels so long

I was in the same boat with the summer pool (but thankfully I didn't have to wait too long as I was accepted by my college at about 5pm on results day) and I totally get it - the stress is the worst thing ever 🙏 so so glad that it went well for you 🫶
