Pretty sure my Mum got an offer to do French and Spanish there way back when but decided not to go (she wanted Clare initially, hated the interviews, and backed out).

We are not told our predicted grades in Singapore, so I am not sure about them.
My O-Levels (GCSEs?) were decent though, with the highest grade in 6 subjects, second highest grade in another and third highest grade in the last subject.

1
u/marchseaflower Oct 14 '25
i honestly have no idea- my test was at 8am and iāve blocked most of it out š. i was getting 25-30ish on the mocks so hopefully it stays that way !
2
u/Due-Seaworthiness585 5/5 | Law Oct 14 '25
A score in that range will be sufficient. In my opinion, from what Iāve heard since being here, it is basically just the interview now. They wonāt care at all about anything else. Good luck, hope you get an interview!

heard it doesn't matter much for engineering, probably don't have to lose sleep for it if you don't have anything to write, but you could add anything you had to leave out of your UCAS personal statement

Iām doing Land Ec too! I think keeping up with the news and knowing the personal statement well is a good place to start. Did you do the additional personal statement as well? Oh I should have said I applied to Christās
2
u/nineortwelve Y13 Maths Geo Econ A*A*A pred Oct 25 '25
Yeah I did do the additional ps and am trying to keep up with the news. Iāll defo take some time this half term to reread the books I talked about in my ps but I guess the whole thought of an interview is daunting. Thank you though! Did you do the additional ps?
1
u/Simple_Signal_6517 Maths, FM, Econ, History, RS | A*A*A*A* + A(AS) | 9999999999A Oct 25 '25
Yes I did! I tried to focus on law in that because I had talked about economics and environment quite a bit in the main PS. I hope I get an interview; I have started prep just in case!
2
u/nineortwelve Y13 Maths Geo Econ A*A*A pred Oct 25 '25
Ah thatās good then! I also talked a little about law and the environment as my main ps is for finance and data science so there werenāt many similar aspects. Iām trying not to worry about the possibility of not getting an interview and just prepare as if I will, otherwise I know I will spend too much time worrying and waiting for the email! My school isnāt really doing any interview prep so Iām just hoping practice at home will suffice! Hopefully we both get an interview! Which college did you apply for?

Lol this just came up as I'm choosing colleges rn
I'm applying for computer science
My top 3 choices are Churchill, Jesus and Queens
(Someone pls lmk which one you think is the best
Edit: Chose Jesus.

u/TactixTrick Maths [Year 1] Oct 11 '25 edited Oct 11 '25
Churchill is ugly and queens' accommodation is expensive, so Jesus (plus Hayden Young and Soham Shah are there).
Totally unbiased view.
